Hello there, welcome to this channel!
I am an Indonesian female solo traveler, who started solo traveling in 2013. After working for the government till 2016, I left Indonesia to pursue full-time traveling and to document myself as I explore different cultures as a solo female.
Having initially traveled for 5 months throughout Asia, I moved to China in January 2017 for an English teaching job, which was my first experience living abroad.
Since leaving China in 2018, I have taken the move to become a full-time TH-cam creator and traveler. I strive to create unique, culture-driven content and capture authentic interactions as I travel.

As a Chinese I'm pretty proud that marriages between people from different creeds and backgrounds are generally tolerated in China. Sadly, this cannot be said for many other countries.
I would say this is a Chinese wedding with some Islamic and indeed Western characteristics.

This is one of the best videos. Quite exceptional in that it examines the convergence of differences into that of acceptance and respect. This wedding, I see that there are quite a few Han traditions like negotiating at the door, tea ceremony for the parents... in this is quite interesting in that normally the bride and groom are to kneel in front of the parents (Han) to honour with tea but in Islamic tradition people only kneel to God and no one else so the bride and groom in this case don’t kneel to the parents but still pay respect with tea. Compromise is also a Chinese tradition.

3nien No sir, you were not wrong. In Islam only Allah is meant to be bowed down to. So maybe that was a choice by Indonesians alone. Some cultures tend to pick and choose/practice differently, however Islam is Islam.
These are actually more of a Han tradition than muslim wedding. That's why I put bracket in between the title. But I agree, that the message of this wedding was acceptance and repect. Thank you so much for watching!

They are not of different ethnicities but of different religious backgrounds. Hui refers to Muslim Chinese whereas the Uighurs are of a different ethnicity (they are not Han Chinese) and are Muslims.
Hui Muslims are different from Han who converted to Islam. Hu Muslims' looks vary from middle eastern to more Han look, depending on how frequent have their ancestors intermix with the Han. Whereas the Tajiks (indo european) of China still look mostly Tajiks is becuase they usually don;t allow intermarriage to preserve their ethnicity.
A lot of Hui actually have arab, persian, or central asian blood in their ancestry. They're basically mixed. I'd like to see them do a dna test.
