Oh wow this is a very indepth video and it has really helped me. When I went to download the software and purchase I see that Make the Cut hasn't had a update in a while. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. I also just noticed that you filmed this video 4 years ago lol...are you still using this software? If not is there another software that you recommend?

Get Sure Cuts ALot instead or, better yet Silhouette business edition. Make the cut is indeed compatible with cricut. They state its not because you can not send designs to the machine from their software. But you CAN save svg files and upload to cricut design space to cut on the cricut.

Soooooo.... There are several programs out there, but none of them make a perfect rhinestone template. Look into Sierra Hotfix Era, TRW rhinestone Wizard, or Sure Cuts A Lot, or Silhouette Business Edition.

The website says that but the software Does work with Cricut Design Space. You use the software to make an SVG file then upload that file to Cricut Design Space.

I down loaded a trial version of the make the cut software program...but what I am missing in the tutorial is how to actually make a rhinstone template from the SVG design. Can you help please?
Unfortunately I can't help with that part. I choose to purchase designs that are already made OR pay to have them made for me to cut myself. I dont have the patience to arrange all of those dots!!!

I will definitely buy the program ! One question tho. What cut do you use in DS? I have found that frustrating also finding what cuts the flock the best. Could you please share what material you use to cut the rhinestone template out on using cricut explore air 2 and the settings?? I have been trying to use magic flock but cannot seem to find correct setting to cut it out easily...without having to individually pop out each circle. Also is cardstock an option to cutting the template out on?
I'm not a fan of using cardstock because I haven't been able to do that successfully and without making a mess. Test your magic flock cut settings on cricut by cutting out ONE SMALL test square or circle... no more than about 1/2 an inch big. if it doesn't cut through completely or cuts too deeply, make a minor adjustment and try again.
Im so new to crafting, making shirts and all you were very informative, things I didn't even know, is Cricut the only cutting machine that you have. I have a Cricut I stopped using it because the site was always down.
No ma'am, but the designers will list the stones that make up the design on the JPG of the design. Ss10 stones are the primary sizes but there can be other sizes from time to time.
It is still compatible. The website said that back when I bought it. 👍🏾 You create the svg with make the cut, save it to your computer, then upload it to cricut design space

Oooh Chi'le...Lol. I was trying to import custom rhinestone(just the circles) design I made in Silhouette Studio (I always design there first, then upload/import to Cricut for cutting) I use CDS in Chrome and I could get in on the mat but once resized, it would attach/weld. So glad I saw this tutorial...I simply went back to Silhouette Studio, added a black box, selected "Make Compound Path"... easy peasy had my template needed to import back to CDS!

It is indeed compatible. I still use it today with my cricut. They used to use the software to send designs directly to the earliest Cricut machines. You can no longer do that. Thats what they mean by no longer compatible. You now have to use design space as I outlined in the video and it will work.

What if you want to create your own rhinestone designs? I dont want import purchased or dowloaded designs. I dont want just shapes or words filled with 1 size rhinestone. I want swirly curly shapes with multiple sized stones along the lines following the thickness and thinness of the line. I dont care if i have to physically add each individual rhinestone. So how can i create this THEN put into design space?
You will need to get a software that will allow you to create your own rhinestone templates. Check out The Rhinestone World, they have a software program for that purpose.
@@TheBabysBooty i did buy that it didnt work its still for basic plain boring shapes the program had a fit and errored out with my designs so i got a refund. Looks like i will be creating my own program that doesnt just do boring words or shapes.

the dreaming tree svg site has it for $48. i love it. it also allows you to convert any file format to png or svg. It creates templates for puzzles, does the curve text for tumblers, and shadowing and knockout for keychains, etc. best software ever. On the original site its $75. you dont need the pro which is $100+ the basic works just fine.

Yes you can BUT from what I understand, in order to save as an SVG, have to buy the Silhouette Business Edition. Once you save as an SVG, you can then upload it to Cricit Design Space.If you purchase the S.B E., you have to download the free basic edition first, THEN, download the Business edition.

It depends upon the design you purchase. Designs are made for specific sized stones. A GOOD design will tell you what size stones to use.

You can I think use cardboard in sure cuts a lot program I haven’t personally tried it yet) but their templates are awesome

My "Go to" stone size is ss10. However the design dictates what size stones you will ultimately use.

I did not use paper. This material is called sticky flock, and transfer tape. Both are available at Becreateful.com

When you are cutting out a template and it sized at 10 by 13can they be sized down smaller?
No. You can not resize templates if you are using hotfix stones.

It does work with cricut. It makes svg files and you just upload those svg files into design space.

When cutting are you using cardstock to cut the dots ?
No. I am using rhinestone flock. You can purchase it at Becreateful.com
I use cardstock to cut mine and it works pretty good and is cheaper. I get my cardstock at JoAnns when on sale for .20 per sheet

Make the cut does still work with Cricut. You also can use sure cuts a lot.

What if you want to create your own rhinestone designs? I dont want import purchased or dowloaded designs. I dont want just shapes or words filled with 1 size rhinestone. I want swirly curly shapes with multiple sized stones along the lines following the thickness and thinness of the line. I dont care if i have to physically add each individual rhinestone. So how can i create this THEN put into design space?
You will need to get a software that will allow you to create your own rhinestone templates. Check out The Rhinestone World, they have a software program for that purpose.
@@TheBabysBooty i did buy that it didnt work its still for basic plain boring shapes the program had a fit and errored out with my designs so i got a refund. Looks like i will be creating my own program that doesnt just do boring words or shapes.

I've been trying to cut and its not cutting it. I can pull it off and partially the template doesn't comes off all in one. Can u please help?

I use Sure cuts a lot 5 with my air 2. (scal5)
the dreaming tree svg site has it for $48. i love it. it also allows you to convert any file format to png or svg. It creates templates for puzzles, does the curve text for tumblers, and shadowing and knockout for keychains, etc. best software ever. On the original site its $75. you dont need the pro which is $100+ the basic works just fine.

Yes you can BUT from what I understand, in order to save as an SVG, have to buy the Silhouette Business Edition. Once you save as an SVG, you can then upload it to Cricit Design Space.If you purchase the S.B E., you have to download the free basic edition first, THEN, download the Business edition.

Rhinestones can be done with Cricut despite how they have changed their platform. An outside program will make it helpful.
