dude you are crushing it. I love seeing your process and since I use logic as well it has really helped me. I share your stuff with everyone I know who is into guitar/recording etc.
Your videos are so clean and your DSP presets are regularly among my favorites. As an amateur cinematographer, I love how great your videos look. You're also an amazing player.
I love this sort of thing. I incorporate a lot of different elements into my writing too, but it definitely takes a long time. I use similar plug-ins like LABS, Arturia, and a few others, but even so I think what I'd love to see is maybe a bit more in-depth explanation of what you're doing. The screen cap is definitely a bit small/hard to see, so while you know what you're doing and you're sort of explaining broad strokes to us, you're clicking like 30 things to get there. For instance, when you add the arpeggiator, it looks like you're copying one of the synth tracks and duplicating it, and then adding the arpeggiator to that. Is that what's happening? Are you leaving the copied synth plug-in and arpeggiating that, or what? Overall, love the videos and love seeing the creative process. I suppose this is me asking for MORE creative process, lol. Maybe if/when you get an upgraded rig!
Hey Josh, just wondering how you have ZERO noise in your recordings/guitar tone? I am constantly dealing with noise in my guitar tone/recordings. I've tried everything from buying a power conditioner, high end cables, different interface etc.
You have made me really appreciate synths. I also really enjoy how your approach to song-writing isn’t only focused on guitar, but being intentional with every instrument. Great work again
I love your content so much. You're my favorite guitar player at the moment and I get super excited whenever you upload something new. I know it isn't in the scope of the type of videos you've been making, but I would love to see your perspective on the visual stuff you make. Besides being one of my favorite musicians I also absolutely love everything you do visually. Your videos are so pretty and well made, your photo work is also extremely beautiful. It would be really cool to see how you approach shooting video. Thanks
what a good reminder. people usually say that when writing, there are no rules but the problem with that statement, like you said, leads to option paralysis. hence riff salads. this is cool man. keep these videos coming.
really appreciate videos like this that remind me i can totally write , record and produce on my own and have somehting that sounds good enough for my personal enjoyment. espeicially for riffs and short songs that i want to hear with a full band. Youre one of my fav guitarists too . Thanks for this dude.
In love about how beautiful are the colors of your videos, it reminds me a bit of wes anderson yellow-ish, but not too much, If you could share your color grading process in the future, it would be awesome. Thanks for the great music and content!
Not sure if you’ve tried this but I’ve had success with lowering CPU usage by doing the screen cap on twitch and saving the vod. Then, when you’re not playing guitar, increasing the buffer rate in your DAW to like 36. My MacMini is ancient and bought refurbished and this works really well. Sorry if you knew all this! Love your work!
Absolutely love videos like these -- thanks for sharing your creative process! Love the track too. Something that I immediately noticed was that your guitar tracks sound incredible pretty much right out of the gate. I believe you mentioned in the past that you DI through a NeuralDSP Quad Cortex -- has that changed at all?
How do you minimize noise floor when recording? (I get some recorded tracks unusable due to the bad noise floor) I do get that problem often not sure if its my guitar or how I connect everything.
Super sick video. Would love to see more of this. I think it would be really cool to see a video of you listening back to a track you wrote and just going through all the details of how it was written etc and maybe some stories about what was going on when writing and recording
The bit crusher on a crash cymbal is my new favorite sound effect I learned from you! It feels like the crackling tail end of a firework popping off. Nice session!
Fantastic, brotha! (Loving to the new Portraits by the way! Keep it up.)
That bass tone🎉🎉🎉🎉
Awesome content. Inspiring work
Amazing video! Hope this helps contribute to the new computer. Best of luck hope you get it soon! I feel the pain of freezing tracks 😂
Loved the video ❤ keep em coming
thakns a ton for this video. There's a lot to learn and tips to save.
Sick video my guy
Awesome video Joshua! Thanks a lot :)
pretty epic and rad
Please add some of your Neural Dsp presets to the store! your tines are allways great, i'd buy!!!
dude you are crushing it. I love seeing your process and since I use logic as well it has really helped me. I share your stuff with everyone I know who is into guitar/recording etc.
love your vids man. not a prog guy at all, but youre very insightful. i would love to see more on your drum programming and your approach to that.
Circadian up on the wall \m/
Well he did a guest solo on that record haha
Love it too
Yup, love that track!
Thanks for sharing your process. ❤

Interesting aspect ratio choice.
Love your process, very creative and insightful!

Loving the 4:3 vid, nice unique flair!

definitely love these videos, always feel inspired to write something after. kinda want an 8 string now too
these are sick, would love to see this continue!
Would love to see some more compositional breakdowns like you did for negative space and thumping/selective picking tutorials. Love it dude!
Many of the ideas you shared, which may seem simple, are not easy to come up with. Thank you very much :)
Love these kinda vids! Keep em coming Josh!
Beautiful music man. Can you give me the link to purchase Iris Victoria tab and backing track please?
love the screencap format of this showing how you navigate Logic and the plugins that you're using. Awesome track :)
Man, I really love your video frame format. It is so refreshing to watch videos, definitely a major tb to my childhood days.
I love opengate videos!!! Cam X-H2S ???
My guess is he's still on his Sony a7IV
I am not sure if you have answered this previously but -
1. What are you shooting with?
2. How are you color-grading these videos? 😍
Really enjoy your content. Keep doing what you do

Hey Joshua! You know what gonna make you a shit loads of money? A guitar course! People who don't even play guitar will buy it because you made it. XD

How did you do that at 5:20 without hearing a small pop between the tracks?
You can see it's been crossfaded.
Not sure if he did it or Logic did it automatically.
Thanks for sharing
I'm thoroughly enjoying these writing sessions. Please keep it up!
Dude, besides the insightful content and the incredible playing, your aspect ratio game is on point! Love the actual look of your videos!
Great video, Josh!
PS: I'd love to see a playthrough of Kiowa, my (early) favourite track off of Buy High
In love about how beautiful are the colors of your videos, it reminds me a bit of wes anderson yellow-ish, but not too much, If you could share your color grading process in the future, it would be awesome. Thanks for the great music and content!
This was really cool! I especially liked it for the process, more of these videos definitely :)
Great video bro! Nice tones and playing!

"Creating Artificial Limits" ...Steve Vai and Kip Winger were talking a bit about this in a pod cast recently.
Absolutely love videos like these -- thanks for sharing your creative process! Love the track too. Did you go to school for music? Producing?
How do you minimize noise floor when recording? (I get some recorded tracks unusable due to the bad noise floor)
I do get that problem often not sure if its my guitar or how I connect everything.
Man, I just love the aesthetics of your videos... thank you for sharing such a incredible music content 🔥🤘🏾
We can help with the computer
Super sick video. Would love to see more of this. I think it would be really cool to see a video of you listening back to a track you wrote and just going through all the details of how it was written etc and maybe some stories about what was going on when writing and recording
I'm a drummer first and guitar player second, and I find your understanding of drums impressive. Because to my knowledge you don't play drums?
