Sad I missed this. Im glad you enjoyed it dude! I wanna clear up a few things, since I wasnt there to discuss. 1) All endings are canon, as stated by the original games dev/director. No ending is more "canon" than the other. 2) Everything we see and experience in Silent Hill is experienced "through" James, including Maria (she is not a real person, only James has contact with her throughout. The DLC is her coming to terms that she is indeed not a real person, no matter how much she wants or thinks she is) If you care to dive deeper, Max Derrat does a fantastic video on the biggest questions that is widely accepted by the community. He explains things very well. I'll drop the link below th-cam.com/video/1yunuVhpVOA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jyOpIDb3UCBFYNES Catch you soon dude!!!
Side note - Silent Hill was different for everyone there, including Angela, Eddie, and Laura (explains why she wasn't killed by monsters, her Silent Hill would look VERY innocent, almost playful). Why none of them saw or mentions Maria. Because James is Maria, Maria is James. (Highly suggest you to watch the video above, it will make you appreciate the game so much more)
@@funk3795 thank you for this. This video is amazing. I don’t even know how to feel, but all I want to do is spend time further interpreting every inch of this story. I’m blown away
@IHaveInsipidus If you ever play through it a 2nd time, you see soo much more and it really helps when trying to form your own opinion/interpretation. I've played the original and remake at least 5 times through collectively.
BTW, I loved your reactions to the other endings LOL
@@funk3795 some heart wrenching, some extremely confusing 🤣
