  • Robin Williams. A comic genius with an electric mind. He went from one memorable film role to the other. But behind the upbeat facade of Robin Williams was a man plagued by depression. We look back at the journey and tragic loss of a comic legend.
Robin Williams, Hank Azaria, Gabrielle Carteris, Jackie Chan

The only person I asked for an autograph ❤in 2003 I was in NYC and went to open mic comedy show. Suddenly he showed up.just went on the stage for couple minute's and made us laugh. He never forgot where he came from.later he was standing in the lobby and drank some beers like a normal person.what a wonderful human being

Surprisingly enough, the first time I ever saw Robin Williams on Mork and Mindy, I immediately saw and recognized in his soft eyes and bright smile that he was undoubtedly depressed. It was a gut feeling out of nowhere really. It was ineffable. He was THE greatest comedian to me of all time. Keeping up the happy persona was a real challenge, accomplishment and difficult im sure and I more than admired and respected him for that. Mrs. Doubtfire is one of my favourite comedies.
Robin, I truly hope you are in paradise, free of all hurts and demons that played havoc on your beautiful and charming and witty soul!

That was an most excellent share about a most unique and amazing person. The documentary tells of only one person, a celebrity,, who delt with his demons in one way but his story, as unique as he was is not unique to humankind. There are thousands of people who must deal with demons but only he had a gift to make people laugh as only he could. Yes,, we miss his talent and very likely will never see and hear another quite like him but no,, struggling with demons is not unique to Robin.

About 24 hours ago I wrote a comment about seeing the sadness in Robin Williams' eyes when I first saw him as a child, when he played the character of Mork. Especially reporting back to Orson. And that authenticity of sadness was part of why I was drawn to watch. You are the first person I have come across who has thought much the same about his sadness as Mork. 😊

Despite his obvious talent of delivering humor, many of his movies were significantly poignant, provocative and sensitive in topic. (love lost, divorce, suicide [in more than one movie], PTSD, cancer, struggles of gay acceptance, impending death, mental illness, immigration troubles just to list a few) Robin was hysterical and made us laugh for decades, but he was so much more!
He left us too soon and missed!

There will never be a man like him again in our lifetime
He was a totally unique man that had a talent for acting and comedy that was not see before and sadly will not be seen again for generations
He was truly that one in a billion type of person
The range of his acting and the sharp comedic mind that could take a scarf ore a pair of sunglasses and make comedy gold with it is truly the thing that sets him apart from all the rest
He could riff on one prop for several minutes and it would all be fun and make sense in some way 😂😂
He was truly exceptional in that way
You will be deeply missed but also deeply appreciated for your legacy
Thank you for all the times you made us laugh and cry 😂😢
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE AND FIND THE PEACE YOU DIDN'T FIND AMONG US 🙏🏻😔 ROBIN ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I loved Robin Williams. I will always remember his death because one on July 11, I was diagnosis with young onset Parkinson’s disease. This was exactly one month before Robin passed away. I can’t fully imagine how much pain he went through, because this disease robs you of who you are. I have the start of dementia (Leweys body) from the Parkinson’s, and I can fully understand why he took his own life. Day to day of losing who you are is the worst than death or having people take pity on you. You were and always will be the best

I can't believe it's been 10 years today. I'm still not over it. We love you so very much, Mr. Williams.
Years ago my roommate at the time surprised me with last minute tickets to see Robin here in Toronto. After his outstanding performance we took a chance and waited at the stage door. When he came out there was a crush of people and he kindly stayed and signed autographs. I said "Thank you, for being here, Mr. Williams!" and he said "Thank YOU for being here." and he scribbled his name in my program :) One of the best memories of my life. Just those few precious seconds.

28:00 From what I've heard, each of Robin's scenes in Mrs Doubtfire was filmed three times. Firstly as PG scripted, then as an adult version, and finally as a totally off the rails ad--libbed variant.
And mostly the default version was used in the final cut.
But the stock exists to remake the film as an extreme fever dream version of it's beloved version.

I miss the laughter. That disease was a horrible way for him to go. It affected his brain. Everyone thought he just killed himself. Now it's so hard to tell. He had hallucinations and lots of other symptoms. This was the tears of a clown, I mean really. He was so quick witted it was hard to keep up with him, but I loved his movies. He had more layers than an onion. There was so much pain that drove his humour on. Gone too early, imho. This makes me smile, even just listening to him. He was very special and funny, though he had his demons.

Gosh how I miss the humor of Robin Williams. On that note a poignant statement is he used his imagination alot as an only child. My thoughts go to now. Kids. EVEN with siblings seems there's no opportunity to just be Kids and playing. This has been going on for over 30 yrs in mainstream populist America. The inflation that's going on today started back in 70"s. Apologies for bringing all this at a video about Robin Williams...however if anyone reads this. Thank you. Lets change something/everything 😀😀

Yes, and until the very end he had complete control over his body, and power of his will. He had a free will. He was an actor. Don't you think he could act like he was sick if he wanted,? He died in private, a regular person on his own terms in peace and love by his own volition ad believe it or not, God's Law of True Love acts in mysterious ways. Everyone is unique. Let him rest in peace and don't believe the lies. Robin had his wits about him. He did what he wanted to do based on Law. Gods Law. He wanted to be alone in private. He is God's Son, like Jesus Christ, as God is our witness.
