I joined my high school marching band after first being ABSOLUTELY ENRAPTURED by the Grambling State marching band on tv (back then we got to actually see the bands at half time. They showed ‘em on “ABC Wild World Of Sports” a bunch). We, of course, were nowhere near as good as these guys were, but the GS marching band inspired me and was a big part of my later becoming a professional musician. I even became the only boy on the rifle squad one year (I NEVER thought it was “gay” because of these folks. Plus, I became a huge favorite of the girls on the squad and their friends)! Never underestimate how important arts and culture like this are! I learned a ton about social psychology and the way people are (negatively and positively) influenced by their surroundings. I had THE BEST experiences of my life thanks, in large part, to this stuff! Thanks so much, Grambling State Band. Y’all do wonderful things! 👍🎺🤗
Grambling is bout my favorite band. I ALWAYS sit near the band at every bayou classic. My momma went to Grambling. Southern be boring as I don't know what to me. I love when Grambling start bumping and grinding, that's when it's over. They get adult dirty, but suitable for the kids. They get nasty! lol
Grambling Marching Band set the standard for marching bands. I remember in the early sixties when I was 8 or 9 years old, I would watch their games just to see their band- this coming from a young white girl. Grambling-You all Still Rock!!
The GSU marching band and dance team did a superb job. Perhaps, though, there should have been a _14th_ dancer for the sake of the football team? 🤔 Close; but, better luck next year, guys. 🙂
Grambling sounds good. The Dolls routine was executed better imo. The Orchesis never fully do it for me on the field and they are a whole dance company. They should be the cleanest out there.
I feel they never get the space. They're hidden by the director on the ladder and the media people hanging around the sidelines. Plus the band up their backs and dancing while they are doing their feature. They're a great dance line but they're hidden.
@@sneakypete139you forgot gram doesn’t have a danceline they just dance with the band it’s the traditional history they perform with the band as a whole everyone shines
@@drequynnrod5077I disagree. If they are going to invite the orchesis to be part of the organizations aux unit they should be treated with respect for their talents and given the true space opportunity to dance and shine. While I'm a juke and go for the dolls we know music isn't chosen by aux units for most schools but give the ladies space. They had them damn near outta bounds. They treat the orchesis worse than famu does their flag corps. Atp orchesis are just to feel like tradition but nothing else. Since the lady from bring it retired it hasn't been the same.
@@drequynnrod5077 shut up. You just wanted to reply and your response makes no sense at all. They treat them like 3 class citizens. As long as SU is in the building so am I. I'm supporting my school and watching the others and made a observation. You don't like it don't reply to me goofy
Applause to the director. As a black female retired band director I hear and see the work being done!! 🙌👏🏼

Great job!!!
Krotz Springs in tha house
Gram actually sounds good here!😮
I was there. Southern’s routine was a bit bland, but I LOVED this. Y’all may have lost the game, but y’all won this Botb
Besides Fantasia I was really disappointed in Southern’s halftime show it was so meh to me.
I was there too and I agree! I wish Southern did more before Fantasia came on
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That presentation part took away from Southern's show.Put a pause in it and took the time to do dance routine away.
Someone please remove all these people that are not band media ir security off the field.
Grambling does the Jukebox's "whip turn" 😂
Do your research grambling been doing this for years
Cap
Who was the rapper???
The show was Great… but why they had the rapper wearing a blue and gold jersey? Lol
Im late, but what the history behind the basedrum on wheels?
GSU needs Mary j Blige to perform
Great performance by both but SU rocked the house

Congratulations to Jackson State’s Sonic Boom of the South for being ranked the No. 1 ESPN Band of the Year for November.
What does that have to do with anything..Jackson don’t got nothing to do with Grambling..
Mane getcho dumb ass on off every video saying that

Ain’t no band better than human jukebox. Southern university 🎉
i came name at least 3 easy your band is boring
you just saw one
Was that Cupid.I keep hearing he passed away
Bun B passed away in 2021 and he and Cupid are from Lafayette Louisiana.
@@toye2u are there two Bun B's? Because I only know about the one from Port Arthur.

Love GSU, won the band battle..BUT SU dancers won the dance, they were tight. There are way too many media folks running around on the field.
The announcer is annoying, and distracting!!! By mid JODECI I was done!!!!
I don't like the new announcer
Unfortunately, neither band was impressive at halftime. Grambling was a little better. We've seen much better from both bands.
