Balanced C'thun cards like Reckoner of Evil and C'thun's Chosen were not included in arena and this imbalanced shit that ruins a lot of games is included. Wtf is wrong with you Blizzard? Do you even test your own game?
"Balanced" is not in Blizzard's dictionary, I've seen better balance from an fat, one-legged blind man on a tightrope.
Aren't you bashing this small indie company too much? They have no experience with games, of course they make mistakes sometimes!
To be fair, they didn't include c'thun not because it was broken, but because it could ruin a lot of drafts with cards based ENTIRELY around a legendary. Every death knight has decent power on its own (the most arguable being Gul'Dan's battlecry, but the hero power outweighs it), but C'Thun really doesn't. However, most c'thun cards were appropriate for their mana level and would have been good as vanilla cards, so I didn't necessarily agree, but I understand the idea.
RaventhortheWarrior That's nonsense. It would make sense if the C'thun cards were absolute shit without C'thun, but they aren't, most of them have perfectly acceptable value for Arena cards, and many absolutely horrible cards are included in arena, so the "C'thun cards without C'thun would ruin arena" excuse is complete bs. If anything, including them would've INCREASED the average power of drafts because they are individually so strong, most of them about average and some, like the 4/2 divine shield, highly above average

I feel like the difference between Jaraxxus, the original alternate hero, and these new Death Knight cards is that Jaraxxus actually has a massive downside. Oh sure, he can win you the game if you play him at the right time, especially if you can stay alive and keep spawning demons, but setting your HP to 15 is a big risk to take in most situations. By comparison, the Death Knights are all super-powerful, and none of them have any real downsides beyond swapping out your old hero power (aside from Priest). Hell, Frostlich Jaina is a straight upgrade to the normal Mage, with 5 Armor, the usual hero power but better, and Lifesteal on all elementals.
Oh sure, there are always optimum times to play these Death Knights in order to get the most value, but even if you just play them out as soon as possible odds are you won't regret it. With Jaraxxus, there are clearly times when playing him would be suicidal, and times when playing him is the only way out. And that makes him more interesting to play with and against. I like the basic idea with heroes, but we need heroes that have powerful effects AND actual weaknesses , not just powerful effects.
But let's not have a repeat of Majordomo Executus, mkay?
Sacrificial Pact is the ultimate reason Jaraxxus doesn't see play. Blizzard specifically hard-coded SP to destroy Jaraxxus even though it wasn't supposed to work with heroes, JUST because they didn't want everyone to play him. Your opponent will always discover it from Kabal Courier, Hallucination, Crystaline Oracle or whatever, and just instantly wins. Also Sacred Trial and Repentance screw Jaraxxus. None of those things happen to Death Knights which is why they are so OP. There's no downside to playing them.
MoffMupp Let's be real, Lord J is massively powerful, definitely more powerful than most heroes, the reason nobody complained about him is because he's Warlock vanilla legendary, so only one class and no occurrence boost, and the DK heroes are all 9 classes and all get the boost, and Jaina and Guldan get the extra synergy boost, so you see DKs all the time and get to feel their power much more often than Lord J. Jaina is the problem, and the fact that the Mage gets her so often from the synergy pick, so remove her from the draft or give her like a 75% decrease in occurrence and that's enough
Jaraxxus also has the problem of not generating any tempo besides a 3 attack weapon (that you probably don't wanna use) the turn you play it. It and the Leeroy combo were the only real reasons that Handlock used Emperor. Unless you can Emperor or Coin with Jaraxxus, you set yourself to 15 AND pass the turn.
Their good sides are all worse than Jaraxxus' good side - the problem is indeed that their bad side is almost unnoticible, except for of course them being slow. I feel like they could be a bit stronger, if only they had a real weak side besides smORC
Something people seem to forget to mention is both Jaraxxus and Majordomo Executus can be played around as they are still minions that can be affected through other cards such as sacrificial pact or dirty rat. It's kind of the point that a hero card should be stronger than the minion cards that affect heroes. Due to this, maybe hero cards in arena wasn't the best decision in the world...

I once beated frost lich jayna in mediocre situation with weak deck, killing my own minions etc, opp died to fatigue. Felt like i"m a genius that got nobel prize... Seriously, more proud than going 12-0. That card is absolutely insane and so hard to play against.

I agree with the arena games right now. Its so hard and so messed up right now, that its just not fun anymore because of the all the hero cards and all the RNG effects all together. I Haven't never had this bad arena runs since last year.

what's even more messed up is Mage is like the only class that is likely to be offered the Death Knight card, which is unfair to every other class and everyone not offered death knight.
Well my past 5 runs (11-3, 6-3, 7-3, 4-3 x2) all started with 1-0, 1-1, 1-2 and basically luck was the only thing that pushed me through.

You're placing a bit too much value on DK Jaina, even though she's insanely op. Look at the rest of your deck dude, pretty much all of it is insane. 2x Fireball, 1x flamestrike, 1x poly, 1x firelands, I could go on. Frostlich is good, but without that insane deck to go with it, it wouldn't have meant that much.
I'm not good at HS. I rarely get salty cause there probably was something I didn't do or something I know I didn't do that caused me to lose. But I am extremely frustrated at Frost Lich Jaina and DKs in arena. Encountering them at 0-0 I knew I should have just conceded instantly, cause there is usually no way back. It's ridiculous.
Kripp might be unlucky in the gameplay but the draft... The best mage deck I've ever drafted with heartharena was 65.3 only good spells ever offered were 1meteor and 1glyph. And that was in un'goro. That pretty much summs up why I don't play much arena
That's one good reason I don't even play arena now. Final scores are decided purely by drafting DKs and whatever Heartharena tells you to pick, and draw/going 1st luck ofc. Skill? Pffff, son...
Yeah, I've drafted a mage deck with 3 frost lich jaina's in it, and just drafted a priest deck with 2 shadowreaper anduin's. I mean, not that drafting multiple was necessarily the right choice, nor was it particularly good, but I can't pass up on an opportunity to draft multiple DK cards when it's offered.
I never get a draft like that....I play 3-4 arena's a day sometimes and still...I get a few 12 win decks, but that's usually because my opponents misplay or w/e. Depressinggggg
Inspired by this I decided to do one arena run. Picked mage and only got total trash cards. No DK. Got Arfus at least, but that isnt so good i guess. Won first game and then 2nd game opponent gets Rexxar. Impossible to win. You just get infinite value from Rexxar.
I play around like 10 games of arena facing DK hero, the only game I win against DK Jiana is the one that I have a Deathwing in Hand while she was in top deck mode. Others were just unbeatable. Fix it Blizzard!
Funny how right after you drafted your deck you claimed it has such low quality cards. If you could see the shit Blizzard offers me every time I start and arena... THOSE are low quality to useless cards.
Frost lich Jaina is the single most op card I've ever seen in arena. When they play that fuckin card, 95% of the time, you're better off just conceding.

Arena is just busted in general, absolute no skill RnG fuckfest, yes you will get better results in the long run with better play obviously but the balance between luck and skill is totally gone, most games it feels like you have no control whatsoever over the outcome however you play

I've outlasted DK mage with 2-3 druid and went 4-3 with 77+ deck containing DK Uther. It's pure randomness.
I picked Frost Lich Jaina as my 1st card. I got another one And a lot of freakin elementals. Gotta enjoy my arena run :D

While its true, that DK´s in arena are busted, its still no wonder to go 12:2 with a 74 points decks... The whole deck was insane, not only Jaina!
Here's a thought, maybe their shouldn't be increased chances to get class cards...or any cards. Just a smaller percentage to get higher tier cards.

Thrall, Deathseer's hero power can mostly counter hers, because often you trade minions and then transform them to avoid ping. I beat FLJ mage in constructed that way. He went to fatique while being unable to produce any more Water Elementals.

I think arena needs a new system in place. The power level of decks are just getting too high now in days

I just started an arena earlier as mage. First set they gave me a Jaina, 3rd set let me have another Jaina (I took Medihv)... ridiculous.

I once drafted two jainas... I always got it to turn 9... only lost to very fast decks pre turn 8, and only after 7 wins

I have yet to get a death knight inn arena but I once went against a rogue who turned into death knight rexxar, jaina and valera. It was a game on auto pilot.
So recently I was having an arena run with rogue. Pretty shitty deck, 62 point deck, no synergy. Went 6-3, lost to 2 frost lich jaina and 1 druid deathknight. Fun.

Kripp you have a loud voice in the hearthstone community why not push for blizzard to stop cash grabbing and overhaul -balance their game by buffing the basic cards and tweaking the stupid legendaries. This is how new players feel when going up against nonsense paytowin like this.

I've been watching your videos since early Diablo 3. I kept doing so because your Hearthstone content is pretty chill to slow down before sleeping. Anyways, one of these days I downloaded Hearthstone for my phone and started playing F2P. I've played 4 arenas so far: 11-3, 1-3, 10-3 and 3-3. You are totally correct about arena. I unistalled the game by the way. This game brings the worse in me. Rage.
Agreed. Furthermore, DK Cards have taken over contructed as well, and has made it impossible to experiment with anything other than cards that can rush down DK decks. And I'm referring to CASUAL MODE. On ranked mode, you play the most powerful deck you have, so I don't have a problem with that.

The issue with arena is they take so many cards out of rotation, and increase your chances of getting a lot of bad cards, that its mostly the "bad vs the bad" and the one guy that hits it good, kinda like a lotto, just auto wins.
My first ever 12 win arena was with Jaina but over all it won me around 3 games.The other games were mostly bone mayer value and some really strong synergies.
