Every expansion Blizzard does the same. Every. single. fucking. expansion. Lots of cards which seem cool, then a couple ones that turn the meta into full grown metastasis. 1-2 1 mana card that it's a 3-2 90% of the time?. 1-1 charge for free in turn 1?. Seems they learnt NOTHING with the bullshit mechs, and it's been a while since that shit expansion.
This is just the Hearthstone team catering to a, probably very large, audience that probably would high tail it from the game and, (take their money with them,) if there stops existing these simplistic," just play what you get" and win/concede by turn 7 kind of decks. It sucks, but it is a large part of their market I bet. I personally don't hate these kinds of decks every now and them, the problem is their simplicity and win power make for a very stale, repetitive ladder experience.
By allowing the people to basically behave like bots (because apparently that's what people want to do), they've also reduced the workload on their servers. These people could all just as well be replaced with bots and be on par, if not better than - but then the people who'd actually use their brain wouldn't have _any_ incentive to play. Just divide the people into horses and the carrots that dangle in front of them. Brilliant.

The way to win VS. Priest is with this simple priority simple: "Q: Does he have a minion and is outside lethal range? If YES, kill it, if NO, GG." Dragonfire Potion isn't great, most decks run some dragons (usually Azure Drakes), it isn't a guaranteed clear by any means, Soulpriest+CoH is better, and other classes (Paladin, Warlock, Mage) just have better, more reliable options. I agree Pirate Warr isn't all-consuming (the 1 mana 1/2 with +2 dmg w/ weapon equipped is NOTHING compared to tunnel trogg or mana wyrm), it's more just "the popular aggro deck" BUT- 4-attack minions. Priest, in general, is still at the bottom. Yeah, sometimes a meme deck (like Chansey Priest) will do well at rank 16, but that's about it. Anduin is even the worst base hero FFS.

I believe if warrior doesn't have Kor'kron Elite it will not be as bad at it is, that 4/3 for 4 with charge is quite a problem since many expansion. I hope they gonnat nerf it soon.
Kor'Kron Elite is fine honestly. Patches the Pirate and/or Smalltime Bucaneer just shouldn't exist. Or at least be class cards. The fact that Warriors can turn 1 N'Zoth First Mate, which summons Patches. Then also follow up with a 1 mana 3/2 is insane.
Hey Kripp, i really like the idea behind the deck but in my humble opinion its main weakness is the lack of a real win condition against any other deck. Do you think including Elise for example would help winning against some other decks? Would love to get a response from you. Cheers
I agree with Kripp i've been using Renolock and it really depends if you get a good opening hand. Since Renolock does have a lot of removal but it's too slow. If the Pirate Warrior gets a good opening it's hard to recover.
My biggest problem with Pirate Warrior is that, currently, it is pretty much the only fast deck in rotation right now. Everything else is combo/control decks, with the occasional midrange Shaman. This is because Pirate Warrior is so fast that it can rush down and kill anything that doesn't have a way to stabilize late game with taunts and heals. I've been trying out a new Stealth Rogue deck, but no matter how suicidally fast I play it, dumping cold bloods and evises on like turn 2, Pirate Warrior is always faster. This sucks for new players, like myself, who don't have the legendaries you need to build an effective control deck. Aggro and midrange are the only decks new players can easily make, since they mostly require cheap, effective cards, many of which are common, and don't need specific legendaries (in most cases at least) to work. My rogue deck, when it isn't up against Pirate Warrior, does really well. But when I'm only against Pirate Warriors, it's useless. This is the first time that the meta itself seems to have turned against F2P players.
It's like playing a Tavern Brawl when battling against these Pirates. Instead of hitting their face, we just need to take care of our own face until they ran out of card in hand. Remove this, remove that and then just play a taunt and BOOM, insta-concede. *I CHOOSE DEATH*
Just at the start of this season i rushed my scrub ass down to 15 with my malygos rogue. Just 3-4 days later the ladder was filled with broken jade decks, insane reno/kazakus decks and pirate worrior. Im now back to 18 and demotivated. It felt so good watching this video :,-)
I'm having decent luck with rng reno mage, ice block/reno helps alot against pirates and wombo combos with brann and antonidas usually ends the game before I get out controlled, and losing can always be blamed on bad rng.
All concede :DD LOL. The pirates are scary. Kripp had an invisible card: Whenever the oponent is a pirate warrior and his hand is empty, warrior make auto concede.
My regular warlock discard zoo deck won against pirate warrior 7 out of 7 times. Also wins against jade druid. Shamans and priests are difficult though, if they have a board clear you generally lose. I also played Reno lock, it was decent against pirate... if you can get demonwrath and some other early game you generally win, otherwise you lose.
How are ANY of those decks brain dead? You need to stop listening to the excuses butt hurt people give you for loosing. Zoo is pretty hard to pilot well. I don't know about Reno decks though, I main Mage and have never seen a reason too put it in cause Mage is already flexible enough to get out of most lethal situations but it clearly has a higher skill ceiling than you give it credit for. Maybe actually play some of these decks yourself, before jumping on the what is cool to hate wagon?

Plus, maybe you should play more archtypes before assuming everyone's jumping on the hate wagon, you know? actually experience some pain rather than fighting cancer with cancer. this... for example i tried your budgetzan decks and all of them are great vs pirate deck (warrior+rogue). however, a renolock poops on them. they do well vs jade decks too.
they only do well when they draw the right cards at the right time though.. i just played against a renolock as a jade druid. he had his emperor hit his hand twice and didnt have the leroy combo in is hand only the faceless. Ended up with a 12/12 and 13/13 jade and won the game. I'd wish rogue had more of a chance against most meta decks atm, sadly it gets rekt by pirate warrior and jade druid is still superior to jade rogue :/ it does well against other decks though :)
yeah jade rogue is slower and relies on nzoth. thats why i try to play tempo wise with multiple card draws. I mean, maaany card draws. Getting all the cheap removals acts great. And I still play rogue as Cthun. Its like, I never lost to a pirate or any aggro deck and do still well midrange decks but late controls are pain. Cuz my only game finisher is Cthun and they usually be ready for it. Jade druid is all round strong deck. I hope more decks like it pop up :D
Four score and four years ago, our Blizzard founders brought forth on this continent a new game, conceived in balance patches, and dedicated to the proposition that all heros are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether Mage can be nerfed in arena, or Mage's overpowered skills can longer endure. We are met on a great battlefield of war. We have come to dedicated a portion of that game, as a final resting place for those Twitch Streamers, Renolocks, controlled deckss and others who here gave their lives that that game might improve. It is all together fitting and proper that we should do this.
This is the druids' fault. druid hard-counters priest, control warrior and almost every other control match up, aggro being the only thing keeping it from dominating the meta.
I play a mage deck deck that handles the few warriors ive come across decently well. Problem is most of my games now are just jade druid and the speed of my deck isnt fast enough and allows them to do what they want with their golems.
Hard matchup to play and when druid has dream hand its kinda over. But otherwise you just need to mulligan for pressure and in late-game try to aquire burn through discover mechanic or some other means.
kolentos jade druid (non miracle version) can beat pirate warriors at a pretty decent winrate and also wins most control games and has thus been super successful for both kolento and myself on ladder (climbed to rank 4 super quickly) It's only weakness is mid-range aggressive decks such as jade shaman that have better board clears and can out tempo you with their jade's because of this
At 21:40 that last opponent definitely took the worst hero power, regardless of what three options he had. Warlock, Mage, Hunter, Druid - all great options you'd be happy to take. Rogue, Paladin, Shaman - not ideal but fairly reasonable. Priest - WTF?!?!? Seriously it's the only option which doesn't give you some potential of doing damage, and that's the one the pirate warrior picks. DERP. He might've had the choice of shaman, rogue and priest and picked priest because he already had weapons for a few more turns and didn't see value in shaman totems, but totems at least give you a chance at spell damage for mortal strike or the occasional 1/1. Then again I'm expecting a pirate warrior to think.

Not really OP. Dont think of the dream scenario, think of the average case. Anubarak is quite strong, but really at turn 6 you are gonna be looking into a trade->board clear and you are likely to end up selfmilling, Deathwing dragonlord isnt really strong, I mean its a turn 6 3/3 stat play with 1-2 mid curve dragons coming from the first deathrattle ,and probably none from the next. 3 1/1 sylvanas would be insane in some scenarios but mosrly its just as powerful as playing a sylvanas and its 3/3 stats and 6 mana. Most of the time the enemy is just going to commit a board-clear or just isn't going to have too much of a board at turn 6 (if its an aggro deck and you are playing such a slow deck 6th turn necropolis is probably an instant loss). Also remember that it heabily restricts you from having other death-rattle minions and if you are playing too few or even just one deathrattle if you draw them before necropolis then necropolis just becomes a dead card.
Play that and have possibly very strong play at turn 6. Meanwhile most of the time you are gonna get pummeled by agro decks because you are a dragon rogue who just doesnt have enough room in the deck for that much weight plus proper answers.

I agree with Kripp i've been using Renolock and it really depends if you get a good opening hand. Since Renolock does have a lot of removal but it's too slow. If the Pirate Warrior gets a good opening it's hard to recover.

My biggest problem with Pirate Warrior is that, currently, it is pretty much the only fast deck in rotation right now. Everything else is combo/control decks, with the occasional midrange Shaman. This is because Pirate Warrior is so fast that it can rush down and kill anything that doesn't have a way to stabilize late game with taunts and heals. I've been trying out a new Stealth Rogue deck, but no matter how suicidally fast I play it, dumping cold bloods and evises on like turn 2, Pirate Warrior is always faster.
This sucks for new players, like myself, who don't have the legendaries you need to build an effective control deck. Aggro and midrange are the only decks new players can easily make, since they mostly require cheap, effective cards, many of which are common, and don't need specific legendaries (in most cases at least) to work. My rogue deck, when it isn't up against Pirate Warrior, does really well. But when I'm only against Pirate Warriors, it's useless. This is the first time that the meta itself seems to have turned against F2P players.

How about mixing the buff cards with pirates? Don Han'Cho on the 1 mana 2/1 charge makes a 1 mana better Leeroy and you can use Brass Knuckles

Just at the start of this season i rushed my scrub ass down to 15 with my malygos rogue. Just 3-4 days later the ladder was filled with broken jade decks, insane reno/kazakus decks and pirate worrior. Im now back to 18 and demotivated. It felt so good watching this video :,-)
I'm having decent luck with rng reno mage, ice block/reno helps alot against pirates and wombo combos with brann and antonidas usually ends the game before I get out controlled, and losing can always be blamed on bad rng.

My regular warlock discard zoo deck won against pirate warrior 7 out of 7 times. Also wins against jade druid. Shamans and priests are difficult though, if they have a board clear you generally lose.
I also played Reno lock, it was decent against pirate... if you can get demonwrath and some other early game you generally win, otherwise you lose.

How are ANY of those decks brain dead? You need to stop listening to the excuses butt hurt people give you for loosing. Zoo is pretty hard to pilot well. I don't know about Reno decks though, I main Mage and have never seen a reason too put it in cause Mage is already flexible enough to get out of most lethal situations but it clearly has a higher skill ceiling than you give it credit for. Maybe actually play some of these decks yourself, before jumping on the what is cool to hate wagon?

this... for example i tried your budgetzan decks and all of them are great vs pirate deck (warrior+rogue). however, a renolock poops on them. they do well vs jade decks too.
they only do well when they draw the right cards at the right time though.. i just played against a renolock as a jade druid. he had his emperor hit his hand twice and didnt have the leroy combo in is hand only the faceless. Ended up with a 12/12 and 13/13 jade and won the game. I'd wish rogue had more of a chance against most meta decks atm, sadly it gets rekt by pirate warrior and jade druid is still superior to jade rogue :/ it does well against other decks though :)
yeah jade rogue is slower and relies on nzoth. thats why i try to play tempo wise with multiple card draws. I mean, maaany card draws. Getting all the cheap removals acts great. And I still play rogue as Cthun. Its like, I never lost to a pirate or any aggro deck and do still well midrange decks but late controls are pain. Cuz my only game finisher is Cthun and they usually be ready for it.
Jade druid is all round strong deck. I hope more decks like it pop up :D

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether Mage can be nerfed in arena, or Mage's overpowered skills can longer endure.
We are met on a great battlefield of war. We have come to dedicated a portion of that game, as a final resting place for those Twitch Streamers, Renolocks, controlled deckss and others who here gave their lives that that game might improve. It is all together fitting and proper that we should do this.
This is the druids' fault. druid hard-counters priest, control warrior and almost every other control match up, aggro being the only thing keeping it from dominating the meta.
I play a mage deck deck that handles the few warriors ive come across decently well. Problem is most of my games now are just jade druid and the speed of my deck isnt fast enough and allows them to do what they want with their golems.
Hard matchup to play and when druid has dream hand its kinda over. But otherwise you just need to mulligan for pressure and in late-game try to aquire burn through discover mechanic or some other means.

kolentos jade druid (non miracle version) can beat pirate warriors at a pretty decent winrate and also wins most control games and has thus been super successful for both kolento and myself on ladder (climbed to rank 4 super quickly)
It's only weakness is mid-range aggressive decks such as jade shaman that have better board clears and can out tempo you with their jade's because of this

At 21:40 that last opponent definitely took the worst hero power, regardless of what three options he had.
Warlock, Mage, Hunter, Druid - all great options you'd be happy to take.
Rogue, Paladin, Shaman - not ideal but fairly reasonable.
Priest - WTF?!?!?
Seriously it's the only option which doesn't give you some potential of doing damage, and that's the one the pirate warrior picks. DERP. He might've had the choice of shaman, rogue and priest and picked priest because he already had weapons for a few more turns and didn't see value in shaman totems, but totems at least give you a chance at spell damage for mortal strike or the occasional 1/1.
Then again I'm expecting a pirate warrior to think.

Sylv, Deathwing Dragonlord and Anub'arak in dragon rogue. Play that and win.
Not really OP. Dont think of the dream scenario, think of the average case. Anubarak is quite strong, but really at turn 6 you are gonna be looking into a trade->board clear and you are likely to end up selfmilling, Deathwing dragonlord isnt really strong, I mean its a turn 6 3/3 stat play with 1-2 mid curve dragons coming from the first deathrattle ,and probably none from the next. 3 1/1 sylvanas would be insane in some scenarios but mosrly its just as powerful as playing a sylvanas and its 3/3 stats and 6 mana. Most of the time the enemy is just going to commit a board-clear or just isn't going to have too much of a board at turn 6 (if its an aggro deck and you are playing such a slow deck 6th turn necropolis is probably an instant loss). Also remember that it heabily restricts you from having other death-rattle minions and if you are playing too few or even just one deathrattle if you draw them before necropolis then necropolis just becomes a dead card.
Play that and have possibly very strong play at turn 6. Meanwhile most of the time you are gonna get pummeled by agro decks because you are a dragon rogue who just doesnt have enough room in the deck for that much weight plus proper answers.
