1 suggestion add the rocks to a bag mix in Elmer’s glue or mod podge and coat the rocks then place them in the pot the rocks will be glazed and stay in the pot.

If you can find a much larger foam ball then I'd say go for it. Since these were going to be in a much smaller space, I opted for that size.
