I’ve never really listened to BTS before other than one or two songs on the radio, so I’m excited for today’s video!

I am Australian Army, I discovered BTS by accident late one night on Rage, Danger was my introduction to BTS and curiosity got me to listen to more, Captions on, from there I was lost. They are fantastic musicians, they can sing, rap & dance, they often write their own lyrics and are often involved in the production. Their lyrics, often focus on personal and social commentary, touch on the themes of mental health, troubles of school-age youth and coming of age, loss, the journey towards loving oneself, and individualism. Their work also often references literature and psychological concepts and includes an alternative universe storyline.
"BTS," actually stands for the words, "Bangtan Sonyeondan," which translates to mean "Bulletproof Boy Scouts." 'Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents,"
They started out as a HipHop group in 2013, (they have 3 rappers, 2 of which were from the Korean underground rap scene & 4 Vocalists) but actually cover so many genres of music in addition to HipHop, invluding Pop, EDM, Rap, RnB, Rock, Urban, Trap, Ballads... they say not everyone will like all BTS songs, but there is a BTS song for everyone.

All of them are extremely talented. Great rappers, awesome vocalists, and they ALL participate in writing their own songs. The one that caught your attention is Jungkook or JK, the main vocalist of BTS. And let me tell you, he IS the main vocalist for a reason. Listen to his vocals through the studio version of any song and then listen when he sings it live. There is no difference, he is THAT good.
Also, I can 100% assure you that BTS are one of those talented people who sing and perform their songs better LIVE than the studio versions. There's a reason why tickets to their concerts are sold out in minutes

When it comes to bts, there’s always loads of content. There are dance practices, performance videos, behind the scenes for the mvs…they’re live even better than in the studio versions, they’re killing every single performance. They always give 300%💜. I’m 40 and from Germany and I’d recommend mic drop, fake love, fire…
Some of my faves along with ON and Run BTS. Actually my favorite is usually which ever BTS song I’m listening to at the time.
@@Imme_begin my actual favorites are baepsae, gogo and best of me, but for new people I think mv recommendations are better for entering the rabbit hole…my faves change all the time, I had a pretty long bts-ballad phase, and hear to rapline-Solo-songs a lot. Also my children hear idol, on, fire, dna, dope and songs like that a lot.

Hi, UK ARMY here. It is cliche to say but BTS are different from any other group. Their official fanbase 'ARMY' is 40m+ worldwide but unofficially it is thought to be 90m+ and that many people cannot all be wrong!
The amount of content they have is staggering, you have 10 years worth of videos, dance practices, award show perfs, music show perfs, their own variety show, their travel show and behind the scenes vlogs for all this too. And this is even before you start with breaking down their music, albums, lyrics and the members own solo work on top!
All I can do is say find your own path. It makes sense to start with video releases and then ARMY will help you along the way.
Just a couple of tips:
Never use auto-generated captions
Ignore negative comments - in a fanbase this big you always have idiots
Use videos from their official channel BANGTANTV if you can to give them the credit
And, of course, have fun!💜

Hey Alison. I’m from France :) As you can guess with these super talented guys, this MV is far away from being just a one shot… And if you check their live performances, you’re gonna loose it !! Personaly, at 46 yrs old, I have never been so amazed since Michael Jackson. With BTS, you’ll go from impressed to obsessed (in a very good way). They keep on pushing excellence to the top in every way. Even their lyrics are deep and often very poetic. This group is something else…

Yeah, BTS really is good. Amazing lyrics, musicality, performance and artistry is on brand for them. They are also pretty nice human beings who we can relate to. So many of us ARMY think of them as friends whom we can rely on to bring us some fun. You should react to Taylor's Guide to BTS soon. Also, if you want to try a new group, you should try TXT (Tomorrow X Together). TXT is another artist from the same label as BTS who debuted 6 years after BTS did. WELCOME TO BTS AND ARMY 🎉💜 This is a small taster of just how amazing these guys are. Great 1st reaction. They have so much content it can be really overwhelming. As you were talking about their dancing and how many takes etc I can recommend watching the shooting sketch for this and you will be blown away. They recorded this while they were in LA on a busy schedule tour. They work so hard they deserve all their success. Also, they have dance practice videos that make the choreo clearer. But most amazingly, they perform better live where they sing and dance live, no lip synching. I can't wait for you to dive into the rabbit hole. My gateway into BTS was MIC Drop (Steve Aoki) REMIX back in 2017, which my daughter now almost 29 years old showed me the MV as she knows I love hip hop and rap music from the 80s/90s such as Bel Bev Devoe, Heavy D & the boys, C & C, Naughty by Nature, NWA, Public Enemy, Jodeci, Easy E and so many more. With BTS I was totally blown away by their talent straight away. They are so different to any boyband I knew and I am so glad I ventured down their AMAZING very LARGE Rabbit hole!! Hi! Fellow Aussie here. I truly discovered bts beginning of this year and man I went down the rabbit hole and I can’t get enough of them. They are truly so amazing and versatile, it’s unbelievable. I wish I discovered sooner tbh.. they’re on a break right now due to mandatory military enlistment but there is sooooo much content / music to watch.
I recommend watching the 2021 FESTA ROOM live. It’s a short medley of some of their songs and it blew me away.

They sing and dance hard choreographys at the same time. K-POP is known for that but no K-POP group is better than BTS and that’s what they are known for. They are really really working hard and behind all the success there is a insane amount of pain that they had to go through. Which is one of a lot of reasons why the fans us Armys are really really protective when it comes to them. If you delve more into BTS you will find all of their songs, mvs, and live performances are in another level. Just to give you other sides of BTS watch Black Swan, Blood Sweat and tears, Fire, Dynamite, Butter ( my favorite of this song is the Grammy performance in 2022), Baepsae, Idol and so on. They have over 300 songs. They debuted 10 years ago and are veterans of music. They write, compose and produce most of their songs. They are on a break right now to do solo projects as they are joining the mandatory military service by the end of this years. Two members have already joined (Jin and J Hope). After you watch a couple of their songs I suggest you try their recent solos. Jin/Astronaut ( Jin asked Chris Martin of Coldplay to write a goodbye song for BTS army as he is the first to join their military) they collaborated together and came up with the song. There is a beautiful mv to the song as well as a live version when Jin joined Coldplay in Argentina to debut his song to an audience. It is a heart warming performance between Jin and Chris. J Hope / More, he was the first to drop an album after they announced them taking a break. More is the title track for his album Jack in the box. You probably will be pleasantly surprised by the direction of the song and the mv. RM is the leader of BTS and a poet of songs. He like Suga wrote songs many years before becoming a first member of BTS. He dropped his solo album in November, 2022. I’m suggesting Wild Flower featuring Youjeen. Suga just dropped an album a few months ago and it features the last 2 songs of a trilogy he started in 2018. The first of the trilogy is Daechwita and since it’s a trilogy I suggest watching the Daechwita first. Jimin also dropped an album this year and I’m recommending Set Me Free which is not a title track but the first song to drop from the recent album. The title track to his album is called Like Crazy and it was #1 on billboard hot 100. Jungkook (the baby) currently has a song called Seven that also made #1 on hot 100, billboard 200 and billboard global 200. It called all kill. I believe he is projected to do it again V is the last member and his album will be dropped soon. However, I’m suggesting Stigma. When watching BTS please turn on the cc so that you can read the subtitles. Unlike most artists BTS lyrics are complex, at times profound, intelligent, raw, introspective and more. They write songs related to their inner emotions and thoughts, classic literature, art, psychological theories, real events, Korean culture and clapping back to their haters, people and the music and media industry telling them they will never make it, they are ugly and have no talent. They were the most bullied group in K-pop. They continue to experience discrimination and xenophobia from the western media, platforms like Billboard, MTV, Spotify and others change their rules on a weekly basis to keep BTS out of their charts and awards. Them winning 1x is okay but not consecutively, not so many times and not so many years. So they change their rules so that whatever the American music label wants to push the artist gets the #1 spot whether it’s a good song or not. This is how they all operate. Who the sponsors are and this is most true for radio plays. You will not hear BTS songs in the radio except for Dynamite and Butter which are 2 of 3 all English songs. Some of their mvs has more than one version examples are On have two versions, I need You have three versions, two korean and one japanese, their debut song No more dreams has two, korean and japanese, Danger has two, korean and japanese, Blod sweat and tears has two, korean and japanese, Mic Drop has two, korean and japanese, I may have missed songs also some of their dance practice can have more than one version, some are more fun and they do parts of the dance practice different from their performance, they also have performance practice for their awards shows performances.
One of this are more like a mv it’s titled Intro performance trailer this video was done as an answer on the bad camera work that was on their live performance on 2014 MBC Danger 20141231 new year celebration. The camera is all over the place so it’s hard to watch it.
If you watch the SBS performance practice 2013 you will see their dance teacher doing Sugas part. Suga was recovering from his appendix surgery at the time. In their 2022 Grammy performance of Butter Jin is not doing all of the dancing because of his injured hand that was in a cast at the time. If you watch the performance you may not notice it at first because he has a decorative sleeve over the hand and he tries to keep it more hidden.

When this song came out, I watched it constantly for days.... Jimin (blue hair in this MV) is the one who immediately got my attention..

BTS is consisting of three rappers and four vocalists. And all seven of them are excellent dancers.
BTS members are about to join the military.
After releasing a collaboration single with Coldplay, Jin, the oldest member, already enlisted about 8 months ago and is serving under Korean law.
And J-Hope joined the military about 4 months ago after releasing his solo album Jack In The Box and collaborating with J.Cole.
Suga released his solo album, D-Day, and successfully wrapped up his world tour a few days ago, and there was a notice that he would soon join the army.
Other four BTS members will also serve in the military and will be reunited in 2025. So they are briefly stopping their eight-year group works and focusing on their solo work.
They do a wide variety of music, but basically they are rooted in hip-hop.
BTS is from a small company that almost went bankrupt, so they have been very looked down and hated by Korean broadcasting stations and other K-pop fandom. So they have struggled from the beginning to prove themselves.
All seven members are participating in making their songs by writing, composing, and producing them.
If you are interested in their ON live performances, I recommend it. :)

Black Swan is a song that expresses their fear of losing their passion for music.
And ON is their determination to overcome that fear and move on to the future. :)
BTS member Jin said in his acceptance speech at the 2018 MAMA that BTS suddenly became famous worldwide and had a hard time for a year due to great pressure and fear. They even thought about disbanding. However, after a year of talking and contemplating with the members, they decided to stay in the industry only for the fans and members, and move forward.
The albums that have been released since then are the Map of the Soul series. The albums are filled with songs that reconsider their inner self, the relationship between the seven members, and the relationship between them and fans. Black Swan, ON and Boy with Luv are one of those songs.
Boy with Luv contains a message that they will fly toward fans, not the sun, with wings attached by ARMY.
After listening to Black Swan, you can better understand how they feel by reading ON's lyrics. :)
The lyrics of BTS' songs are based on their own experiences, and their albums are organic because they contain their growth narrative.
It will also be fun to listen to their albums in order and analyze them. :)
