@@djlivvy46 Tbh as an ARMY, blanket statements like this seem unfair to me...there are several other groups who are incredible performers onstage, just as good if not better dancers/performers than BTS in certain ways. And again I'm ARMY 100% through and through, but I'm just being objective about it. Yes nobody is doing it like BTS, but at the same time there are other groups that are doing their own thing that BTS couldn't do. It's like comparing apples and oranges is what I'm trying to say.

To give my comment some context, I'm a 63 year old guy, retired police officer from Kentucky, who grew up with Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, E,W, & F, a whole lot of Motown, and in my opinion the best music to ever be...UNTIL these guys. Two years ago I had NO idea that Korean culture had anything to do with pop music. I have now crammed 13 years worth of BTS into the last two years. Once you've learned where these guys came from, how it happened, and what they have had to overcome to be where they are now, and accomplish all they have, you WILL (trust me) become ARMY. This fan base is like nothing I've ever seen. I watch a lot of the reaction videos from a lot of people, and have enjoyed the honesty in your reactions the most, so, so far, you are the ONLY one I've subscribed to. Good luck on this journey, and hold off on your bias, (mine is V), as it will change several times before you are sure! P.S. don't let your partner know you watched "Serendipity" live by Jimin. I hope you enjoy your journey. I began mine almost 4 years ago and I have no regrets. BTS debuted in 2013 and they have over 300 songs covering various genres and subject matter. And they all have their own solo work too. And they have great personalities which you see in all their other content aside from music. Just take your time because there is a lot to catch up on. Just a heads up military service is mandatory in South Korea where BTS is from so right now they are pursuing solo projects until they all complete their service. Military service is a minimum of 18 months and the oldest member of BTS- Jin enlisted this past December and J-Hope will be the 2nd member of BTS to enlist very soon. But BTS are still very much a group and plan to do more music together in 2025 when they are all done with their military service. I was just like you I didn’t like the music that was coming out and just stuck with what I loved growing up 90’s hip hop, R & B, Funk, and Break dancing up tempo house music. I’m 40 and I haven’t liked a Band so much in a long time that had Harmony and Rhythm. Sit back strap on your seatbelt, this’s gonna be a great journey to knowing BTS and where they started till now. I started following few months ago because of Harry Mack and now I’m on a ride along with you to BTS!

BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan which means Bulletproof Boyscouts in Korean. They have an incredible story - they debuted in 2013 and have been grinding at the music industry ever since. This was in pandemic time,so they didn't go to NY but did the TDC in Seoul (at "Home") . As for their Mics and in-ears, everyone has his color. I've been subscribed and watching you since practically the start of your channel. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is BTS. My daughter is 16 years old and has been part of army, which is what the fans call themselves and BTS calls their fans. They really came up through social media it was a really hard Road in the beginning and their back story is absolutely amazing. You asked if they could dance all my goodness you're in for a major treat especially jhope and jimin. Army will be in your comments that's for sure and they will tell you exactly what to watch. Welcome to the world of BTS. Me as a mother as someone who has a daughter obsessed with BTS I'm okay with it actually because they are really good young men and they have a really good message. These young men really got my daughter through some hard times during the pandemic when she was very isolated and depressed. They've spoken at the United Nations and that the White House. They do not take their fans for granted at all they do everything for them.I really admire these young men very much and they will soon be going into the actual South Korean military because of mandatory duty. One member has already gone and another will be in going in in a month or two and then they will rotate and come back together in 2025. They're doing some solo projects right now. They have won every major award in South Korea and the only thing they're lacking right now is a Grammy. As you mentioned it was recorded in 2020, when in most countries we were in confinement, hence Home. The first song, Dynamite, was released to give encouragement to ARMY (their fandom) and the general public, at a time when we needed it most. And the truth is that these guys are always thinking of us ... even as a group they have songs composed especially for the fandom, and individually they have given away songs (originals and covers) through soundcloud and youtube. In addition, many of their songs have great messages that have helped millions of people overcome problems and have even prevented suicides. As you mentioned they were singing live, it is important to mention that they don't like to lipsync, so they like to sing live at concerts, for TV shows, their lives, etc; even when they have the backing track you will hear their live vocals over it. Even they themselves have on occasion let the track run for demonstration purposesthey don't mind letting the track run they don't pretend to sing funny when they forget it's their turn to come in but they always highlight their live vocals over it Their studio versions are very good, but they have the talent and ability to make the live versions equal and usually surpass them. Do they dance? All 7 are extraordinary dancers (some stand out more but all 7 are at a great level), some of their choreographies are very complex; they are extraordinary dancing and singing live. While there are 4 vocalists who are wonderful and 3 rappers who are extraordinary, all 7 have demonstrated that they can sing and rap; besides composing, writing, producing, most have practiced 2 or more instruments .... all 7 are multitalented.Maps By the way, I saw that a few days ago you reacted to The Police with Every breath you take and you mentioned I'll be missing you, which is the version that Puff Daddy made of said song; What do you think about reacting to the cover that BTS made of I'll be missing you? Yea, BTS!! :) They really are humble kings. A lot of people think that kpop has taken over the world, but really it's BTS that has. Amazing, considering they were industry outsiders with all the cards stacked against them in South Korea. BTS accounts for 50% of the kpop movement we see globally. There are hundreds of other groups comprising the remaining 50%. Blackpink has sold about 1/10 of what BTS has sold, and that's even with BP's backing of a big company when they debuted. Now, those girls can get it and are REALLY talented and hard working. But BTS is another level and were given the opportunity to reach that level by their company's focus on authenticity -- writing and producing their own music and taking creative control. I enjoy a good girl power song, but it does lose a little potency when you realize those songs were written by a guy with zero input from the performer. That said, I do have BP on my playlist, so no hate. :) I think if you watch their come up in Taylor's video, you will understand just why the fans are so excited and protective when it comes to BTS. 💜💜 (And you'll also understand what the purple hearts are about, lol)

Ive read that BTS spend hours upon hours perfecting their craft. They really brought K-Pop to the U.S. and introduced us to a genre that spread and they made it mainstream. The important thing is note that if you turn on subtitles and really get into the lyrics, BTS sing alot anout individuality and just being who you are, unapologically. They are such a talented group and their hard work in rehearsals jave paid off. Reaction was killer on this one Britt!

So that you understand it in a single sentence: BTS PAVED THE WAY. If other groups sing, dance, act and rap well, then BTS does it triple. They are composers of almost all their discography. Producers, amazing dancers. They are the industry standard. They are the best. You run the risk of falling in love if you keep seeing them. The studio versions are incredible but live they are from another universe.

To give my comment some context, I'm a 63 year old guy, retired police officer from Kentucky, who grew up with Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, E,W, & F, a whole lot of Motown, and in my opinion the best music to ever be...UNTIL these guys. Two years ago I had NO idea that Korean culture had anything to do with pop music. I have now crammed 13 years worth of BTS into the last two years. Once you've learned where these guys came from, how it happened, and what they have had to overcome to be where they are now, and accomplish all they have, you WILL (trust me) become ARMY. This fan base is like nothing I've ever seen. I watch a lot of the reaction videos from a lot of people, and have enjoyed the honesty in your reactions the most, so, so far, you are the ONLY one I've subscribed to. Good luck on this journey, and hold off on your bias, (mine is V), as it will change several times before you are sure! P.S. don't let your partner know you watched "Serendipity" live by Jimin. I'm from Detroit and they are all invited to the cookout. 3 rappers for 4 vocalists. They are the biggest band in the world for a very good reason. They are so deserving of their flowers. And they need to get more. Their song catalog is 300+ deep in every genre you can think of. I guarantee or I will buy you a cup of coffee that you will love at least 20 of their songs based on your favorite genre.

I hope you enjoy your journey. I began mine almost 4 years ago and I have no regrets. BTS debuted in 2013 and they have over 300 songs covering various genres and subject matter. And they all have their own solo work too. And they have great personalities which you see in all their other content aside from music. Just take your time because there is a lot to catch up on. Just a heads up military service is mandatory in South Korea where BTS is from so right now they are pursuing solo projects until they all complete their service. Military service is a minimum of 18 months and the oldest member of BTS- Jin enlisted this past December and J-Hope will be the 2nd member of BTS to enlist very soon. But BTS are still very much a group and plan to do more music together in 2025 when they are all done with their military service. In the beginning of 2017 I wasn’t a fan, until my wife introduced me to BTS. I was just like you I didn’t like the music that was coming out and just stuck with what I loved growing up 90’s hip hop, R & B, Funk, and Break dancing up tempo house music. I’m 40 and I haven’t liked a Band so much in a long time that had Harmony and Rhythm. Sit back strap on your seatbelt, this’s gonna be a great journey to knowing BTS and where they started till now. I started following few months ago because of Harry Mack and now I’m on a ride along with you to BTS!

My daughter is 16 years old and has been part of army, which is what the fans call themselves and BTS calls their fans. They really came up through social media it was a really hard Road in the beginning and their back story is absolutely amazing. These young men really got my daughter through some hard times during the pandemic when she was very isolated and depressed. They've spoken at the United Nations and that the White House. They do not take their fans for granted at all they do everything for them.I really admire these young men very much and they will soon be going into the actual South Korean military because of mandatory duty. One member has already gone and another will be in going in in a month or two and then they will rotate and come back together in 2025. They're doing some solo projects right now. They have won every major award in South Korea and the only thing they're lacking right now is a Grammy. As you mentioned it was recorded in 2020, when in most countries we were in confinement, hence Home.
The first song, Dynamite, was released to give encouragement to ARMY (their fandom) and the general public, at a time when we needed it most. And the truth is that these guys are always thinking of us ... even as a group they have songs composed especially for the fandom, and individually they have given away songs (originals and covers) through soundcloud and youtube. In addition, many of their songs have great messages that have helped millions of people overcome problems and have even prevented suicides.
As you mentioned they were singing live, it is important to mention that they don't like to lipsync, so they like to sing live at concerts, for TV shows, their lives, etc; even when they have the backing track you will hear their live vocals over it. Even they themselves have on occasion let the track run for demonstration purposesthey don't mind letting the track run they don't pretend to sing funny when they forget it's their turn to come in but they always highlight their live vocals over it Their studio versions are very good, but they have the talent and ability to make the live versions equal and usually surpass them.
Do they dance? All 7 are extraordinary dancers (some stand out more but all 7 are at a great level), some of their choreographies are very complex; they are extraordinary dancing and singing live.
While there are 4 vocalists who are wonderful and 3 rappers who are extraordinary, all 7 have demonstrated that they can sing and rap; besides composing, writing, producing, most have practiced 2 or more instruments .... all 7 are multitalented.Maps

They really are humble kings. A lot of people think that kpop has taken over the world, but really it's BTS that has. Amazing, considering they were industry outsiders with all the cards stacked against them in South Korea. BTS accounts for 50% of the kpop movement we see globally. There are hundreds of other groups comprising the remaining 50%.
Blackpink has sold about 1/10 of what BTS has sold, and that's even with BP's backing of a big company when they debuted. Now, those girls can get it and are REALLY talented and hard working. But BTS is another level and were given the opportunity to reach that level by their company's focus on authenticity -- writing and producing their own music and taking creative control. I enjoy a good girl power song, but it does lose a little potency when you realize those songs were written by a guy with zero input from the performer. That said, I do have BP on my playlist, so no hate. :)
I think if you watch their come up in Taylor's video, you will understand just why the fans are so excited and protective when it comes to BTS. 💜💜 (And you'll also understand what the purple hearts are about, lol)

Ive read that BTS spend hours upon hours perfecting their craft. They really brought K-Pop to the U.S. and introduced us to a genre that spread and they made it mainstream. The important thing is note that if you turn on subtitles and really get into the lyrics, BTS sing alot anout individuality and just being who you are, unapologically. They are such a talented group and their hard work in rehearsals jave paid off. Reaction was killer on this one Britt!

So that you understand it in a single sentence: BTS PAVED THE WAY. If other groups sing, dance, act and rap well, then BTS does it triple. They are composers of almost all their discography. Producers, amazing dancers. They are the industry standard. They are the best. You run the risk of falling in love if you keep seeing them. The studio versions are incredible but live they are from another universe.

(fandom name) I never expected to love these young men so much (NEVER followed any band or individual until them), but have never regretted a minute of it and really enjoy watching others fall down the rabbit hole as well. So very endearing, no surprise that the fandom A.R.M.Y. is now 90 mil if I remember correctly. They are rewriting the history books, being compared to the Beetles and the natural successors to MJ. Always watch the MV's to the end! It might be a good idea to ask Army for links for the best performances..... some are not as good as others.
They also have various versions of their MV's and songs, from the official MV to remixes (B-sides done for Army) and live performances. Dance videos for their choreography can be found at Bangtantv and behind the scenes videos. Just depends how far you want to go, there is a lot. The MV's have a storyline attached but that is better saved for a time when you might want to get to know the members more.
To avoid any copyright strikes just show the Big Hit/Hybe logo at the beginning of all their MV's.
NOTE: THE WORD NEGAE MEANS YOU/ME/I - not the word you think! Some misunderstand so best to get this out the way! Also Koreans or Asians in general are not afraid to show their emotions, so crying/hugging/being close is a cultural thing, which to Western eyes can seem a bit touchy feely or give wrong connotations.
Names: Koreans put their surname first, then their name. So if you see Kim Namjoon (ie RM the guy with the outfit you liked) in the West it’s would be Namjoon Kim etc….
Age: They class an unborn child as 1 yr. old at birth, then at New Year’s add on another year. So for example Kim Taehyung (or V) was born Dec 30th 1995, so on 1st January 1996 he was 2 yrs. Old although in reality only a couple of days old! However there seems to be a move to change things to the same as International age. However, when watching their story bear in mind when they mention an age it’s usually 2 yrs. older than we would class it. So actually, 2 yrs. younger from our perspective.
