This presentation will provide several different strategies for teaching students from culturally diverse backgrounds, race, nationality, etc. Many of the strategies in this presentation may be incorporated immediately by classroom teachers. Some examples include having cultural sensitivity, involving families, examine hidden bias, showing cultural decoration representative of the students, teaching in a variety of ways and styles, allowing students to perform cultural studies and present that information to entire classroom. I encourage educators to share this video with their students as I believe it will help them succeed academically. This video is part of an instructional playlist from teachings in education and Frank Avella. Other videos in the playlist cover topics such as Curriculum, Inquiry based learning, Classroom Management, Differentiated Instruction, and much more.

So when will the teacher have time to sufficiently teach literacy, grammar and math? My child is tri racial, how would this work for her? I don't send her to school to be socially dissected and labeled. Maybe if we revert back to core studies we wouldn't have illiterate children graduating highschool,. The unnecessary fat being induced in our curriculums are setting our kids up for failure and teachers for burn out.

Diversity is a description not a “value”. While we waste time on meaningless diversions like this, we miss the opportunity to teach knowledge and content that is at the heart of learning.

Studies disagree with your conclusion. Diversity of culture and viewpoint is a PROVEN value, as well as a description

@@quinnhusband749 I am speaking specifically about gender, race, and sexual orientation "diversity." Not diversity of thought. Diversity and freedom of thought is essential. Free speech is essential.
