    Every one of your vid's I WILL WATCH! I've watched others also and I really like the way you wheel. I wish I lived closer to you so we could go wheeling together. As I've stated in other videos you've posted, I've been wheeling since the 50's and still do it. I'm in Arizona now and enjoy the fantastic area's here. Endless possibilities but I like your style. that was entertaining..looked like all of you had fun...me personally, heck with all that...I absolutely hate driving in snow...thank goodness I live in KY and don't get a whole lot of it at once...all and all your video was great...I was wondering was you all actually on a road or just weaving around making your road as you went along?..cuz to me it did not look like a road...

    • @MonsterJeep
      @MonsterJeep  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey right-on Frannie. Yeah, we were following a road for the most part. We're familiar with the way and for the most part it's pretty easy to tell where you're going and where the road is. We might be going the wrong way around a tree or two and getting a little off the path here and there in open areas, but for the most part we're right on top of the trail. They also have little tags and markers on the trees here and there along the way too. At around the halfway point when we uncovered the Badger Lake sign with the arrow, you might be able to tell how the road splits there, thus the sign. (Which is like 6 ft. high by the way.) Anyway, thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. : )

    Hi, I really enjoyed your videos! I was wondering what size tires the Toyota guys are running and what pressure the pickup was down to without beadlocks? I like your Jeep and the Samurai too but I have a 1982 Toyota pickup and want to get back into wheeling. Thanks for the help.

    • @MonsterJeep
      @MonsterJeep  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, right-on Briggs. In this video, everyone is running 37" tires except me, I'm running 35's. The pickup has a dana70 in the rear and a built front Toyota axle. In some of the videos he has 42's mounted on the truck. He went down to around 6 or 8 but he did lose a couple of beads. Thanks for watching! : )

    • @MonsterJeep
      @MonsterJeep  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually I think the Samurai is running 39's.

    • @dbriggs9773
      @dbriggs9773 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MonsterJeep Hey thanks for getting back to me! I was thinking 35's like I have now might do it but wasn't sure if I needed to go bigger. 5.29 gears, spool in the rear, lockrite in the front and an 8000lbs winch. I'll be getting a high lift jack and some sort of an air compressor as well as a good survival kit. Oh ya, a shovel too! Any other suggestions on gear to take winter wheeling? Thanks again.

    • @MonsterJeep
      @MonsterJeep  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sound good Briggs...I can tell you that I felt like the difference between 35's and 37's was huge. I did a lot on 35's but going to 37's was like night and day. The gear sounds good for the essentials (oh, if you don't have a double beadlock I would be sure to have a ratchet strap in case you have to re-seat a bead) and then I always have some extra snacks and and extra set of dry clothes just to be safe. And in the snow I always take a set of snowshoes and a backpack just in case something crazy happens and I have to hike out. Till next time...Happy Trials! : )

    • @dbriggs9773
      @dbriggs9773 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Monster Jeep I've been thinking 37's would be better but I have a set of 10x15" Eagle Alloys that I really like. Around here (Ontario, Canada) it seems hard to find a 37'' for a 15'' rim. Is there a tire that seems to work better in the snow? I'm assuming wider is better? Good call on the snow shoes and backpack! Thanks again.

      Oh right, it has 4-link w/coilovers. Well, maybe he still needs to convert the front. :) I really don't know what his plans are for it...other than the tires, it was purchased that way. Good afternoon!!! My mother, little snow in this video !!! Two Toyotas, a Suzuki and your Jeep. Here, the Suzuki have a gasoline engine not very big, and there? I imagine that something bigger will be with those wheels, hehehe ... At minute 02:40, your companions climb the front of the car down the slope ... you do not? The truth is that I think those things are more young people, hehehe ... What a trunk in the middle of the road! How the red Toyota gets stuck It seems that the shaft has been hooked, right? The Suzuki was a good stumble to throw to the side, eh? That car does not weigh anything and that's why it happens, right? Very loud too. What model is your Jeep? A Rubicon? Do you have differential locks on both axes? What different climates did you have that day, right? A heavy snowfall and an incredible sun and another snow suddenly ... Are you on the way? About the minute 24:30 it seems as if you were among the trees without knowing where the road is going ... Beautiful video of even more beautiful day of adventures !!! Thanks for sharing.

    • @MonsterJeep
      @MonsterJeep  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey FredRS...Yeah, the Suzuki has a four cylinder gasoline engine. The key is in the gearing, it has lower gears in the axles and a second transfer case to double down with so it does just fine. No, I didn't try to climb the hillside. I don't want to break anything, so I let the youngsters test the water. ; ) The red Toyota got high centered on the log and then got hooked up somehow. Instead of putting his tires in the low spots, he should of put them in the high spots and he would of cleared it no problem. I think the Suzuki's weight had something to do with it, but he should of continued in across the ditch so that his right front tire would of climbed the other side of the ditch and leveled him out. Instead, as he got to a steep angle, he turned back to the left to go out the ditch the way he came in and when he did that it put him at a further angle and he tipped over. (hehe!) Does that make sense? I hope you followed that. Yes, the Jeep is a Rubicon and it is locked both in the front and rear. Yeah...that was a pretty interesting day--Spring time--snow, sun, and then snow through the evening into the night. As far as being on the roadway, I know what you mean...it can look like we are just wandering through the forest, but we are pretty familiar with the area, so we know the routes really well. We may wander off track a little here and there, but for the most part, we are right on top of the road most of the way. Anyway FredRS, it's always good to hear from you and thanks for watching! Till next time...Happy Trails! : )
