Great job, but holy heck that fast set! I knew you were in trouble when you didnt mention dialing the slump to the wettest setting on the mud mixer. All is well that ends well though 🤙
I looked up the cost and at $3,000 that’s a serious investment. Is it worth that cost? Not so sure after seeing the two videos you’ve made using it. You did a great job like usual, TYFS!!
Note to this 60 year old self, do NOT use Quick Setting concrete. FYI, I bought & used the "Steele Mixer" last month and poured three 5'x6' pads. The regular Sakrete mixed okay with it, though there's not much cream in the mix. I did it in the shade (90F) in Tampa Bay with the Dew Point a soggy 76F. Each pad worked out a half gallon of perspiration with no relief from evaporation. It amazes me to see you West Coast kids work with dry shirts. 😂
No dowelling into the existing concrete at the sides? Won't this patch sink differently over the years and create a trip hazard where the different pours meet.
I have a question: I'm pouring a 10' x 18' pad underneath a patio cover, but doing it in 5'x6' sections. In between the sections, I made keyways on the sides (like on a foundation footing) using a couple 18" grade stakes attached to the form boards. The idea was to "lock" the sections together kinda like dowels to prevent unevenness if settling. Each new pad is edged as if it had been cut-in for crack relief & rebar is fully encased more than a couple inches from each edge. Have you ever done something like this? Is it a wacky idea? What are your thoughts? (Pouring the entire pad in one shot would probably kill this 60 year old.)
Would've done reg bags and added more cement....they never come with enough.....really a 2 man job Seems like wheel barrow or 2 would almost be same efficiency
nice work, how much did you charge for the job? also are you 100% sure that this type of mixer is faster than a traditional electric concrete mixer? i mean in my mixer i can do a wheelbarrow of concrete at a time (about 100 litres)
@@OdellCompleteConcrete totally new to doing concrete. Not sure if you made it look that easy or if it is that easy? Any tips on tools or where I should purchase stamps?
WOW!!! Gutsy move doing it by yourself with fast set!!! Cool mixer too!!!
Tough
It would be nice to do a product review on the mixer. Breaking down the cost, how to set it up, how to use it, and how to clean it. Great video.
Noted!
Not for free. Lol
Always like it when the Odell guys use the 50% horse hair broom.
Thank you for sharing all the wonderful content.
Our pleasure!
That stuff was thick and hot. Really set off quick. Thanks for the video.
Glad you liked it!
That mixer is a game changer.
I concur
That was a very fast set. Wowzer. Nice job!
Yes it was!
Ty
The mixer and the fast set in the hand's of a pro looks great. However, in my hands total recipe for disaster :) Great video as always
yes you may want to stick to the basic concrete formula for a while
Been there, done that on some fence post. Almost a complete redo! Never use that stuff again.
Great video! Couldn’t believe how fast you did it!❤❤❤
Thank you!!
I love that mixer - though I'd still probably buy a barrel type when I needed one. Great vid.
I hear that
GL
Haha. I'd have a steel tube of solid Quikcrete.
Love that Mud Mixer.
ty
Neat machine! Good work as usual.
TY
Liked the video as soon as you said that 50% horse hair broom line😂❤

Good call!
Nice mud mixer
Always add shovel of Portland cement each batch to be able to finish nicer
I always like to add a small shovel of portland with each bag, but don't think the MM will get it consistent.

If you have a purpose for it.
But it was given to them. In exchange for putting it in front of their 452K subscribers. Right?
Cool quickly. Thanks for the video

By the end my shirt was soaked
🎉 thanks for the video bro 🎉.... JJ... Jonjon...😊
Sure

Nice work brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks 👍
No shot of the completion damn dirty damn
OSS
That Red stuff goes quick, you must have been stressing. Nice work
Yes, thanks
So this something we really want to do.
GL
Nicely done, if I would have done that I would have had a Lucille Ball assembly line the "concrete version"

The respect is mutual. OSS

Depends on compaction
I agree that’s a good possibility
If you could do it over again would you use different concrete mix?
I would use regular concrete instead of fast setting
Is that contraption wheel barrel height?
I wish
I only use red bag for dry set - pour in fence post hole then add water
Good idea
Holy backpain batman!

Solid advice...you better wear your knee pads every job. When you are 40 you will be glad.
Good tip!
maybe you should turn it on before you add the concrete ,might be a bit smoother at the start
Good point
Nice
Thanks
Looks great! Maybe you could show us how to feather/blend the edges and the edge clean-up sponge work on a patch project like this?
Great idea!

I like blending red bags with regular
@@OdellCompleteConcrete yeah that works pretty good.....
Maybe the concrete was not exiting the hopper because your mixer is not level.
First 👍
Sweet
You did it again
TY
Fast setting comment. 😂
👍
How much for that mud mixer?
3500
@@OdellCompleteConcrete
Pretty pricey, and l feel like you wasted lots of energy trying to make it work
👍👍
That's a nice $400 tool but I think they want 3k for it...that's insane.
I hope you’re joking…
Technically it’s more like $3900 if you add the hopper extension and the chute extension. Fyi
Quickrete sets up too fast in hot climates like where I live.
💯💯💯👌👌👌👍👍👍💪💪💪❤❤❤
Ever heard of a screed board....
No time for that
Need some knee pads my man! Good job!
Next time!

I'm thinking more work than a mixer
promo sm ❗
Save your knees
Not to sound like the proper language police but the term is "wetter" not "more wet " ! Nice job though !
