    SPOILERS FOR THE HUGE MISTAKE (i warned you never say i didnt warn you)
    I checked the replay, ByuN had EIGHT siege tanks walled in to his main because of the way the factories were laid out. They were stuck because he....didn't open the other supply depot on the ramp. Literally all he had to do to let them out was lower the second depot 🤣

    Day9 once said, "If you're opponent is doing something weird, just go fucking kill them."

      @@tobiasL1991 not scouting early game is a gamble pros throw that allows them to get ahead, or to do very specific timing attacks. You could see in game 2 that byun was looking to do some kind of very early timing attack with skipping the reaper for fast stim and early tanks. Kinda bit him in the butt tho, cause serral scouted the greedy CC first, and instantly plopped down the roach warren.

    Honest question cause I don't play SC2 much, but wouldn't Banshees be a decent counter to Lurkers if you see your opponent go so heavily on them like Serral did in the middle of the first match? Are they so cost inefficient that it's not worth building 3 or 4 of them to keep with the army to be a constant threat to the lurkers?

    • @grishy8203
      @grishy8203 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always think this too

    • @benmark2353
      @benmark2353 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think banshees might buy some time but lurkers require hydras anyway, and with banshees being so fragile they'd just get shredded by the hydras. Ghosts are much more consistent against lurkers I think theoretically.
      Plus with infestors already seen on the field in that game, I think the banshees would be even worse? Just theorising here ofc

    • @comradecommissar1945
      @comradecommissar1945 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, banshee's are incredibly fragile and dont do a whole lot of damage for the fire rate. Lurkers also require hydra's to be produced so zerg will always have anti air. This is why you see terrans use liberators instead since they are longer range, higher damage and have more health. This is also combined with tanks and ghosts.

    • @Intensi0ns
      @Intensi0ns ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok so there is a lot of answers to this question. Banshees are extremely fragile. All it takes is getting caught once with a fungal chain and they are all dead. Its compounded by the fact that Byun, as much as we love him, is stubborn as all hell and if it doesnt start with "M" he scoffs at anytime he has to build anything else.

    • @skipperg4436
      @skipperg4436 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@benmark2353 Ghosts don't counter Lurkers. I don't know who started this meme but that's ridiculous: Lurker attack always cancel Ghost snipeshot. If we follow this logic we can say that marine counters Lurkers because if marines are split perfectly and/or Lurkers are attacking in the other direction than marines will kill Lurkers.
      Tanks are soft counter to Lurkers. Lurkers still can kill tanks because Lurkers siege/unsiege 4 times faster than tank, but if there is a critical mass of tanks and they are sieged then Lurkers would have to go the other direction.
      Liberators (even after range upgrade) are not counters to Lurkers because Lurkers siege/unsiege much faster than Libs and thus Lib will never be able to fire at Lurker unless Zerg go afk. In TvZ Liberators are not even good enough as area-denial tool since their damage was overnerfed.
      Ghosts counter things that counter Siege Tanks, like Vipers and Ultras. Ghosts also kinda counter their own counter which is Infestor which is not a good design...
      Thus the need for the Ghosts.

  • @skipperg4436
    @skipperg4436 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ugh, first game shows what is wrong with TvZ lategame: as a Terran you have no option but endure attack after attack, and even off-creep Terran have no other option but to run from baneling river.
    Also Zerg can just hemorrhage Terran's supply by constantly switching attack vector abusing the fact that Terran can not re-position his army in time.
    To defeat Zerg in late game you need to sit behind wall of planetary fortresses and repel attack after attack until map runs out of resources.
    And I don't think that this is fun gameplay for Zerg either

    Please excuse my rants. Anyone else thinks fungals need to be nerfed? It's hard to miss. It's successful most of the time, renders Terran useless and there's no counter except late game ghosts. A burrowed infestor is practically invincible. Roach ravager openings have no equal from the other races. They are usually successful while Voidray, Glaves, Battlecruiser and Bunker rushes are usually unsuccessful.

    • @elgar7252
      @elgar7252 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes, yes they do. Zerg in the hands of the best players is always an eyeroll to watch. They have so many options to what they do can, unit comps, creep, unbeatable economy, pooping out entire Armies in one wave of Larva... I understand that Zerg is hard macro but ffs their only weakness is unit cost effectiveness, which is offset by their income.
      Parasitic Bomb and every Viper ability is digusting. I don't know any ability in the game that does as much damage as a SINGLE Viper parasitic bombing Vikings, Phoenixes... or one Carrier and flying corruptors ontop of the carriers so that the Parasitic Bomb kills all of the Interceptors in a second (Looking at you, Dark...). Abduct being able to steel Motherships, rendering them free kills...
      Everyone copes about Ghosts being required to play against Zerg, but Infestors and Vipers out here literally countering everything, Vipers being the most supply efficient unit in the game. Three of the BEST abilities in the game and the ONLY energy unit that can Consume to restore energy. Lmao. Ghosts were required because everything Terran has loses to Vipers/Infestors.
      Bio ball? Blinding Cloud, Fungal = win ... Parasitic Bomb on the medivacs to make them use 400 APM to split them before they all explode
      Tanks? Blinding Clouds = win
      Sky-terran? Abduct/Parasitic Bomb/Fungal = win
      Ghosts? Burrow Fungal... or if you're Serral, Neural into EMP'ing them back...
      Thors? Abduct, Fungal, Blinding Clouds = win
      Same for Protoss. They get fucked by Vipers/Infestors too.
      And yeah - Roach Ravagers do well because Terran has to have Marauders ready or Several tanks (because 1 or 2 just get Corrosive Bile'd kekw), where everything Terran/Toss do early game is countered by Zerg pressing their Queen button a bunch. Thankfully Toss goes Stargate early most times so Roach/Ravager is less effective against them.

      @casey ryan-hannum he clearly mentioned in the hand of the best.
      It's true that zerg is op against both terran and protoss. Too many options and huge economy to rebuilt in the blink of an eye. Their speed is also absurd while the 2 others races are so slow.
      Industry for instant telephone anywhere for free... and the list goes on.

    • @nfzeta128
      @nfzeta128 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      No.
      1) Ghosts aren't late game, never really were but especially after the emp change they're straight mid game units now.
      2) Infestor range is still small and they require a huge investment.
      3) Terran bio/tank early easily matches roach ravager, it's just that an all in is obviously stronger than an opponent who's macroing up.
      4) You're comparing cheese to an all in, of course it's not the same.

    • @nfzeta128
      @nfzeta128 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@wicem4 Terran has just as much if not more options, they just always want to stick to the strongest ones and those aren't always the best answer to a situation.
