It was great seeing you and CFHQ main figures in the CrossFit Health Summit, as a Physician and CFL2 fired me up to keep fighting the Chronic diseases.
A training summit would be amazing…… yearly would no doubt help raise standards and education levels……. I could see that if run well have 100s if not thousands attend
- garage gym affiliates would be amazing. A nod to the roots of CrossFit and ultimately what we advocate for - autonomy over your own health. Everyone should be encouraged to have home gym equipment to maintain their healthy lifestyle. Would be cool to see all the at-home CrossFit gyms pop up all over the world on the map. - Let me help the viewers out a bit regarding Hiller + 2023… Dave only came back to his Games leadership role a month before last year’s Games Finals. - Maintaining standards: Dave could not have said it better. I will only add that in my experience the culture of maintaining standards is founded in the constant pursuit of excellence. - Great analogy between the weapons systems and the human body / fitness. What we are doing in Fort Worth is incredible. I hope one day we can get the Canadian Armed Forces involved. - The CrossFit for Health Summit was fire 🔥 Thanks for all you do, Dave.
Hi dave,I really enjoyed the Health Summit. i wish Crossfit could do more of this. As a trainer, this will help me to engage about health more with the athletes and the ones who still hesitate to join crossfit, everything that was presented are things that are important and are a discussion in the Crossfit community.
Dave, appreciate your weekly updates. I'm no Stanford MBA; however, I'm having problems getting to Don's "30 million" CrossFitter market. (Generously) assuming 15,000 worldwide affiliates with an average membership of 150 means the current market of CrossFitters is 2.25M. Let's also assume HQ goes on a buying spree and acquires Street Parking and any other provider of online CrossFit training programs; you add 100K additional CrossFitters (again, generous). That puts CF at 2.35M. To get to 30,000,000, you have to: Holding affiliate numbers constant, grow each affiliate from 150 to 2,000 members or Grow affiliates from 15,000 to 200,000 (30M/150) What am I missing?
I think you and Chad Wright should get together for YT chat on various topics that both his and your audiences can come together over. CF, firearms, fitness in general, time spent on the SEAL teams, state of the country (world), etc . . . Chad will inspire your CF audience and it is no easy task to inspire the CF audience. It is a win-win for all parties involved.
24.1 hype was on point! I'm ready and looking forward to the unknown. Keep WIR's coming, by far the most relevant CrossFit content available!! 20 minutes worthy of my time.
Hiller knows the rules about what is allowed and not allowed in CrossFit competitions. It's his decision to not be eligible. CrossFit doesn't need to make special concessions or arrangements to allow him in.
Hey Dave, great show. You seemed really amped about the benefits associated with Army Program you're working on. You discussed the benefits to the soldiers that carry over from this type of training. You mentioned some of those key benefits. When speaking with the Upper level Administration, do ever question the Diabetes rates amongst the army? Do they ever talk about these rates and cost associated with treating their personnel with Diabetes? Seems like this may be a very big benefit with regards to health and more importantly potential cost savings by helping motivate and endorse health and well being.
Hi Dave, thanks for answering all this questions! I am 46 and since 2 Yearsfull in CF (you see I am One 5000 from 8 billion that showing your videos) CF is journey and can do movements , like never in My life. I'm thinking to do My L1. 1) why is L1 more expensive in EU? 2) i can do the movements and standards, why should I get the L1 for almost 1500€?
Hi Dave, just signed up for my first open while building a „CrossFit type“ Home-Gym. Are the (Open) workouts designed to be manageable to do at home - at least to the stage of Quarterfinals? This thought made me question my registration the last years. Thank‘s for your effort to the sport we love!
Forgive me if this is common knowledge but is the top 25% that moves onto quarterfinals the top 25% of everyone signed up in a division? or top 25% of those who entered scores for all the tests? Because there’s always tons of people who have no scores on the leaderboard .
Dave please! Strict pull ups, I know for sure they won't be in the open, as 75% of people can't do one, only kipping, there is not enough emphasis on strict pull-ups in crossfit affiliates, that's the building block of all that butterfly pull ups, and kipping as a last resort to get more reps. I
FWIW: I wrote a real letter to Eric Roza soon after he became CEO about the garage affiliate idea. My wife and I have a well-equipped garage gym and many people in our neighborhood became curious about our workouts. We both have L1s. I thought it would be great to be able to use the CF brand name, get these people started in a relaxed atmosphere, and maybe transition them to a “real” affiliate when they were ready. I never received a reply from Roza. Oh well.
Dave... Why is there no occupational games? As a former SEAL I'm curious as to why you don't put more of an emphasis on this. Men and women who serve are the foundation of CrossFit. Why are they not given a bigger platform?
maybe for the future adding an option for people to participate in the open without competing in the open for people using "PEDs", you can sign up for and do a 5k or a marathon and be using banned substances but would be banned from the Olympics. to be clear I think CrossFit made the right call, but I also think we may see many more non competitive athletes using something like TRT but still wanting to sign up and participate, it could be as simple as a different colour across their scores and those scores not counting on the overall leaderboard. Is this the most pressing issue that crossfit should be dealing with? probably not. but we do say crossfit is not for everyone but it is for anyone.
Regarding Hiller - there are a lot of people on TRT (and HRT for women) who *need* CrossFit. Why not create a division specifically for them? Only stipulation - it has to be prescribed by a doctor, not some parking lot pharmacologist.
Since you DQ'd Hiller will you refund his Open fee? Are you also saying the only reason Hiller was kicked from the open is because he openly talks about being on Peds? How many athletes do you allow to participate that are on peds that just don't post about it on social media?
Hi Dave, a little bit off topic. But I’ve always wondered why your dog’s name is Doug even though she’s a girl. What’s Doug origin story? I think she a cute dog.
His wife wanted to name their next dog, she choose the name Doug before they got the dog. So when they ended up with a girl dog they just kept the name.
As much as I would enjoy seeing Hiller participate in the open, Dave is completely correct. More importantly I think Hiller understands this as well. If he doesn’t then he’s a hypocrite. He makes his content from the perspective that CrossFit needs to follow their own rules. Whether it’s movement standards, or residency requirements. If he was allowed to participate, he could literally make a video calling CrossFit out for allowing him to participate.
In one of the videos he said it's not so much being disqualified, it's being disqualified without being tested. In other words, he can say he used it for months, but when the open starts, the drugs are out of his system (which means he passes the drug tests and be eligible for these scores to count).
@@jerrydelgatto7999but people that do them also deny being on them and you have to test to confirm. If you have to test to confirm denying it, you should test even if they admit it. Now, in what world would someone say they are using them if they aren’t right? But, the fact that people can say anything to test certain processes, I would think they would want to test him regardless. I don’t think it bothers him one bit that they did this, I think that they could have used him to show their testing protocols work though….
Did he not address it? My interpretation is that it was his decision. He is the difference from last year to this year. ( He said "it's right in front of you.") They made a mistake in allowing Hiller last year and fixed it this year. (I am a Hiller fan and do not see any way to argue he should be allowed to register his scores. He can compete for fun without registering.)
@@jimchaput9034 that’s my interpretation too, but if that’s the case, why no just say it? You address questions by answering them, not by leaving it to the imagination. Also, Dave was fired January 2022, he returned to the company around five months later, in June. That will put him already in 2023 Open Season. Again, why this year and not last year (he was there last year). I may know the answer but if not that one I’ll love a straightforward one, not a “guessing/interpretation” one 😉
@@tonydecuba I agree that a more explicit response could be helpful. I think his role was different when he was first brought back. I think he was given an expanded role for this season, so maybe that is the difference to which he alluded.
Do you think that Hiller knowingly wanted to get caught and kicked out of the Open so that he could put his scores in under a different name and show CrossFit that they aren't actually able to address drugs in the Open for a vast majority of the athletes involved?
Castro, how do you feel about what has happened in the military from kicking out those that refused the experimental injection to trans influencers marketing our armed forces, to DEI and ESG initiatives? How about that Afghanistan withdrawal? Do you consider how that might look to be working with them without taking a stand for the damage Lloyd Austin's leadership has caused?
Doug is present right at the get-go, as it should be.
It was great seeing you and CFHQ main figures in the CrossFit Health Summit, as a Physician and CFL2 fired me up to keep fighting the Chronic diseases.
Dave is the true definition of CrossFit. Appreciate his commitment to the sport and how he continues to give everything

I'm Hillers words, the standard is the standard
one of the most beautiful, effective and unique open workouts that we have ever done in the open - that translates to me as max thrusters in 15 mins

Or, maybe he was testing to see what would happen?
Pay attention. No part of Hiller acts in any way entitled. He did not question the decision for even a nanosecond
Here for Dave's information but Doug's entertainment.
Dave, ever thought about pole climbs instead of rope climbs?
Is there any big open water location near dickies for swim events or more outdoor events?
Love the garage gym affiliate idea for a lesser affiliate fee:)

Doug stole the show
Holy shit sounds like 24.1 is going to hurt bad 😳
Love what Andrew Hiller is doing keeping honest people honest. I also think that Dave and Crossfit HQ is right in not allowing him to compete.
Vendor village is rumored to be a 11-15 min walk from the arena at Will Rogers Memorial Center. True? How will that play out for vendors?
Hearing new news that there will be multiple entrances and the google map is incorrect and it's a 400m walk. Hopefully this is the case.
Considering the tickets are sold out, we may just be coming to hang out at vendor village😂

How do you implement your drug policy with Master’s athletes on TRT?

Isn’t Hiller on Medical Prescribed TRT? If so he can ask for an exemption.
Im just here for the Pup
What about James Jamie? Sprague…?
Your puppy looks like she needs a little kitten friend. I'm so glad you petted Doug and didn't ignore her 🥰
How is Bible reading going? Instead of Ro vs Boz, you should do Dave vs Sevan
How is your reading going? Have you read the Orphan X series? Did you enjoy it? Do you enjoy fiction books about spooks and covert ops?

"admit to using drugs" - what does that even mean? and is a PED any substance that improves performance? interesting stuff.
Olympic lifting technique can be a separator, but not rock climbing technique

I wonder if Hiller will appeal to reveal any holes in the PED testing policies and procedures
