I like the way it was before it just needed some cleaning.
I also preferred the before garden.

Wow, no slacking around here, and no doing things twice. Great work. I love how no big machines were used ( would have been difficult with such a small yard of course) but if that was my garden I would have wanted seats on the edge of the raised borders.

Great bones. I know the homeowner will garden the boxes in. Lower maintenance with straight-line borders and a patio that is even. Nice job.

That old turf being removed could of gone into the
bottom of the raised beds ! ( Just put it up side down
like you would on a compost heap . Makes lovely loam ! )

Just take time and work then your small garden will look beautiful and you save a lot of money when you do it with family help.
Loved when the SUPERVISOR (Lady) showed up. Making sure everything is good.
It would've been nice to have a sitting bench.

I did a small patio around the same size only thing I did differnt was lay fabric down first customer wanted it everything els I did the same way that was 3 years ago its still strong and level so tip my hat to you great work

The client knew exactly what they wanted so we only do what the client asks for, she didn't want the maintenance.

Yeah, and me. Looks soulless, like something designed by the local council.
We did to, the person paying the bill decides what is being done, we only do what the client wants, its her design and ideas. She was old and couldn't manage the maintenance before, I think she wanted a better place for the grand kids to play in also.
Agreed the the client chose the design and paid the bill be just do as we are told, not something we would design our designs can be found on my other videos.

I would of used the old grass turf to half fill the planters then topped up with soil but did look lovely wen finished
But wouldn't that encourage seeds and grass to grow in your planters ?

Why do people not learn that you can't plant grass right up to a vertical surface and expect to mow the edges neatly. Round of applause for the guy with wild white hair...think he did most of the work!
The most work is always done by myself the guy with the wild hair will tell you that himself.
When it comes to edges maybe you just need to practice, we have no problem.
@@INSOMNIAC2017 many lawnmowers don't mow to the edge of the mower so you get an inch strip that can't be reached. Maybe the white haired guy stood out 😁

I think you should paint white on garden wall
The client wanted to do this themselves along with painting the fence etc. I believe they ended up painting that wall a light grey.

How do you determine where the sun will fall? How do you weed behind the raised planters and the fencing? Do you water with a sprinkler? How do you mow the grass at the edge of the cement? If you want clean, new fencing do you erect it in front of the neighbor's old wood fencing, or do you persuade them to remove theirs and you put up newer more expensive types?

Not too bad I would liked to have designed it myself and put the plants in but the client designed it for low budget and wanted to do the plants them selves, would have mad a better finished shot if it had all the plants in though.

Apparently healthy and strong lawn grass dug up and replaced by...more lawn grass - ?
It was lumpy and bumpy client wanted a new level and flat lawn, we do what ever the client wants.
A fairly small lawn... easy to dig up and start fresh.
@@axlent123 if you're gonna dig it up and replant seeds you might aswell just returf it and have a new lawn same day rather than in a months time
hebneh yep that confused the heck out of me too... plus all the grass and dirt they wasted, then brought in a bunch of dirt. After they had just hauled many wheelbarrows out... strange.

why didnt they use the sods in the raised beds turned face down then backfill with topsoil in the raised beds ????
To prevent weeds and diseases transferring to the raised beds.

Its now 3 years later and still solid we do regular maintenance for them now and its all still good why wouldn't it be?
No one needs an academic in landscaping to be a good landscaper Education has proven worthless with the people we have employed who have had qualifications, their experience and abilities makes their knowledge worthless in this game. Its not nuclear science Tradesman existed before schools and colleges and to a very high standard of tradesman without any school existing.

Agree with victor. Counted 8 wheel barrow loads that’s less than a ton, over 10m2 that’s only 30-40mm thick. Plus no control fabric beneath, for the sake of another ton and being wacker plated I wouldn’t of taken the risk. Could of been maintainance free had it been grouted with vdw800 or similar.

The unpainted fence draws your eye and makes the end result look kinda cheesy/
and how does it look like a year or 2 years later? back Yard and front yard need to kept cleaned up other it will be overgrown easily

Did a nice job but fucked up on the flags you can't lay pavers on a full bed of cement with no joint just causes loads of water to pool up in the cracks and eventually will fuck the patio with dirt all in between each one.

Would have dugout where the patio extension was so it was all on the same level and the used the dirt for bigger raised beds. These beds seem chintzy. This seems sad for all the work done. The section closest to the house still feels awful.
Yea agreed, however the client didn't have much to spend and knew exactly what they wanted so we just did what we was paid for. The client also did a lot of work their self since we finished as we have returned for more work on their property since and seen what they have done, this was done about 3 years ago now.
