The most complete bowler in the history of the game - pace, swing, reverse, seam movement, accuracy, yorkers, bouncers - this man had it all. The A-Z of fast bowling all in one package. Add to that the fact that he could bat as well, and his highest score in Tests (257) is actually HIGHER than the highest Test score of even Sachin Tendulkar himself (248), it is hard to imagine a more complete player in all of cricket history.
+Jayakrishnan Nair Totally agree with his bowling... thats why he is regarded among best of best bowlers of all time. He was actually good with bat. But there is no comparison in high scores of him and Sachin or any other regular batsman. Someone already said it (257) was against Zim which is low level side and he got that 200 only once. Sachin on the other hand has 6 double hundreds in Test career (4 coming against strong test sides). All im saying is that the batting wasnt justified in your comment, though he was a good lower order batsman.

Greatest fast Bowler world ever seen Swing, pace, bouncers Reverse swing, toe crushers and a useful allrounder on time,Such a find he was by the Great Imran Khan himself and made him the most sparkling light and king among great bowlers
The cricket nowdays has shifted alot in the batsman's favor. Thicker bats, shorter boundaries and highway pitches. ICC should give a balance to both bowling and batting.
IGA Bring in good bowlers, and you still see a sizzler. T-20 has really hyped the batsmen and people come to see long sixes. Very few people want the bowling, as the bother paid with the mind of batsman before getting him out
McGrath is medium pace bowler, fielders have more reaction time, wasim was fast during his early career, not easy to catch 145+ mph bowl flying at you. Less reaction time.
@@rodyinjapan Nope. Reaction time for the slip fielders and the wicket keeper won't change much irrespective of the difference in the bowling speed because the wicket keeper and the slip fielders have the option of standing back further to faster bowlers. The slip cordon would be standing much closer to the batsman when someone like McGrath is bowling and they would be standing further back when someone like Lee or Akhtar is bowling. Only the batsman and the umpire would have to deal with lesser reaction time because it's always 22 yards for them.
davis moirangthem you are dead wrong,I played professional till the age of 18 for Pakistan capital team under 18. If you think nick from fast bowler is easy to catch at slip you are mistaken. You can’t push slip too much back otherwise you won’t be able to catch. It will bounce before you.
@@rodyinjapan I never said slip catching is easy. In fact, the reason there are slip specialists is because slip catching is one of the hardest thing to do on the field. I was talking about your reasoning that slip catching to Mc Grath would be easier than slip catching to Wasim because of reaction time. My point was that the reaction time would more or less be similar in both the cases because of the adjustable distance of the slip fielders from the batsman. An adjustment of 3-5 yards gives a slip fielder ample time to react. As a matter of fact, a difference of 2 yards in length makes the the difference between a good delivery and a bad delivery because of the extra time a batsman gets in the latter. In either case, reaction time cannot be an excuse for dropping catches at the slip cordon.
how fair was bill Lawry. genuine cricket lover. he seems to be delighted with wasim's achievements. and imagine we dropped a commentator because apparently he was not supporting India
Harsha rarely strikes a negative tone with the Indian team. As fine a commentator he is, it always seems his words are reluctantly filtered. He supports India too much for my liking, but the nationalist zeitgeist apparently deemed it not enough.
Nikhil Kelkar Bill Lawry and Tony Greig were able to pump life in any dead match. Classic 💕

Great bowler! The two speedsters Pakistan had in Wasim Akram (Pace and SWIIIING) and Waqar Younis (PACE PACE PACE) was just fabulous to watch when I was growing up. Thanks for your contribution to the game, gents!
You have got to sympathize with Pakistani slip fielders, when a ball is coming at you at 145+ kph, its not very easy to judge where it will go after deflection.
Clocked a few around 150kph once the speed gun was introduced around the time of Shoaib and Lee emerged. Robelinda might have footage. Wasim was well above 145kph and Waqar was quicker still.
Mack3nzie Dravid I remember him in a series in South Africa, he'd just come back from injury: first three deliveries beat Gary Kirsten for pace, the ball just carried through beautifully, keeper would take it reverse-grip every second ball. Sure, he was quick when he was young. And Waqar Younis? Well - he must have been damn near 160 clicks. My favorite spells of fast bowling from the early 90's: Ambrose against England 1990: speed on par with Patrick Patterson, probably a whisker quicker than prime Michael Holding - or at least Jeffrey Doujon seems to think so. Then there was that one over of pure insanity from Danny Morrison at the SCG in 1991: th-cam.com/video/5S6UL900C4I/w-d-xo.html - just watch this, it's frightening. Guy's 5 ft. 9 - lashing the ball in at what looks like 95 miles an hour. Morrison had to bowl within himself for most of his career because of a torn deltoid: when he was on form and injury-free he was probably about as quick as Allan Donald. Steve Waugh said he was right on par with him: that makes Morrison pre-injury about as fast as Waqar pre-injury. Then there was Devon Malcolm at Perth in 1995. Are we suuuuure he didn't break the 100-mile barrier? I'm not. And there was that time when Dean Jones asked Curtly Ambrose to remove his wristband. And Javagal Srinath in England about 1996, the time when he clocked 156 point something. Nevermind the ONE delivery, he was going past the outside edge for fun at that stage; when the whole world thought the "Indian fast bowler" was a mythological creature that didn't actually exist. Allan Donald at the Wanderers against England in 1995, just brutal. ... and pretty much any time Waqar played against India.
I think people took Richie's comment totally wrong. What he meant was that the hatrack ball was as good as to get a Hatrick. Yes, he did finish his career with 4 international Hatricks. Great player.
Insane to imagine how many wickets this guy has taken with some of the worst fielding in the world lol. Such a talented bowler. If he had actual fielders he could have take at least another 50+ wickets easily
The greatest fast bowler the world could ever produce. Toppled every batsman on wicket and almost left scary moments with all world leading batsmen of their times
This guy had everything. Accurate, quick arm action, short run up, Yorkers, around the wicket, over the wicket, lethal bouncer, new ball, old ball and lastly man of the match in the World Cup final win
Wasim Akram was an artist with the ball in his hand. I highly doubt the world will see another left arm fast bowler who can swing at that pace and produce such variety with consistency.
Sultan of swing LEGENDARY SIR Wassim Akram had the best bowling action in the world. It was really a treat to watch his long run up & swing of his arm from anywhere be it television or from any corner of the ground or on the big screen. The celebration was also his trademark style of lifting his right hand upward whenever he takes any wicket. Really there is no Wassim Akram to come anymore & we missed him so much since 2003.
The world' best bowler ever at his best...thank for this video...He was a complete bowling tutorial...No body can ever match his skills ..In my childhood I used to copy his action but being a right hander I never succeed
sdroy84agt that's true but i can't comprehend how Waqar has a way better strike rate than Wasim (43 to 54) In test cricket S/R is more important than Ave.
kison SL Thats simply because Waqar was almost as good a wicket taker as Akram (though no where as good a bowler). Waqar was quicker and got more swing but Akram was far more subtle. Also NZ helped Waqar's strike rate a lot with their incompetent batting against him!!
sdroy84agt WAQAR WAS ALWAYS BLOWING HOT AND COLD. HE WAS EITHER TOO GOOD OR TOO ORDINARY AND EXPENSIVE AT TIMES. WASIM WAS MORE CONSISTENT. WAQAR IN MY OPINION WAS A BIGGER MATCH WINNER THAN WASIM.
+Rohini Kap The reason why there's a difference in strike rates is because it was Wasim who would be toiling on a flat deck, in the heat, on a sunny afternoon to break a set partnership, and as soon as the partnership was broken, Waqar would be brought on to wipe the tail. Wasim was the more skillful, Waqar was the better finisher.
Spells like this one makes legends. Shows how intelligent and skilful he was. He knew how to bowl on this wicket, knew how to get each player out, and knew how to pitch any kind of ball. Wonderful yorkers, effective bouncers. Brilliant!
Wasim sir was always a pure genius & a treat to watch during his bowling days & we all 90'ians got to thank TH-cam & the channel that has provided us with the opportunity to get a glimpse of Wasim Akram Sir's bowling & wicket compilation I mean look at his bowling his rage, his competitive ness & the chutzpah to triumph & because of few genius bowlers like the likes of Wasim Sir Cricket earlier used to be a perfectly balanced game which now is not the scene & that is why the fun is gradually degrading as the day s are passing.
I would answer a different question. Wasim Akram is way way more exciting to watch than McGrath. Mcgrath has one of the best actions and beautiful to watch. But he is like a machine, Akram is pure class and great fun to watch especially if Waqar is on the other side cant get better than that.
I always felt sad after got opportunity to watch only very few videos of malcolm Marshall bowling..I wish I could have born in his Era...a bowler who brings joy as same as malcolm Marshall is none other than wasim akram..from batsmen we expect what he is going to do,which shot he will now...likewise we can expect different strategy from wasim as what he is going to bowl...fast yorker, bouncer, getting away from round the wicket etc...skill wise he is the best bowler after Marshall Era..i really liked the video where wasim talked about Marshall intelligence.....hope he train youngsters across all the countries so that cricket will stay alive...massive respect to the living legend...
If only he didn’t have to spend a bulk of his career bowling on the dustbowls of Pakistan and the sub- continent. This man would have had 700 test wickets. Greatest fast bowler ever ! A magician really
People in Pakistan are comparing Shaheen Afridi with this Legend he is nowhere close to him. One of the best bowler in the world. He will always feature in any world eleven team. Respect from India.
Ok, Riz. Here's the short version. I love Wasim Akram. I agree he's the best left arm bowler I've seen. Period. Alan Davidson was probably his closest competitor. Ok, here we go. Check out Waqar Younis and his inswinging yorkers. Richard Hadlee and his perfect outswingers. Malcolm Marshall. Curtley Ambrose. Joel Garner. Michael Holding. Imran Khan. Glenn McGrath. Dennis Lillee. Allan Donald. And check out Jeff Thomson - probably the fastest bowler that ever played the beautiful game. That's a few from the last 40 years. Hope that helps! 😁😁
Such an amazing bowler he had everything pace, swing either way, deadly bouncer, Yorker, cut, great slower ball.... all off a 15m run up.....amazing to watch him play!
The Greatest fast bowler ever.....Feel Privileged to have seen him live for 15 years. Absolute Magician with ball. The ball was always at his command....it did whatever Waz told it to do. Once in a Century Cricketer
I played 2nd XI club cricket in Melbourne and faced a few "quick" bowlers but still can't imagine what facing someone like Akram would have been like. We trained indoors one preseason and cranked a bowling machine up to 150km's just for a laugh. Even with the ball coming out dead straight and landing on a good length in exactly the same spot each time I was struggling to middle them. Trying to imagine a ball at that speed swinging late or coming at your head just left me in awe of the guys that do that for a living.
How on earth did Wicket Keeper manage to drop that and parry it to the slip fielder! The ball lobbed so slowly! How can he even call himself a keeper! Disgrace
Man did that slip cordon suck. Nevertheless, what bowling! The ball did all sorts of things in this compilation! Zip straight, swerve, swing, bounce high, bounce low, dip late. Jeez!
Mansoor Qaisrani bhai, Amir came much after this golden time. Here we r talking abuot the time when the best fast bowling trivio of Akram, waqar and akhtar were playing.
I always enjoy watching the bowling of greats like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis even now in 2021. Great fast bowling performances like of these 2 and others including McGrath, Ambrose and Walsh are treat to watch. I always wonder if we'd ever get to see fast bowlers like them again
Pak still got back in the game in the 2nd innings and were set for an unlikely win when Marsh took a blinder of Ijaz who has scored a hundred before 4 dubious leg before decisions sent Aus 1-0 in the series.
I haven't checked the scorecard, but if those lbws were to Terry Alderman then there would have been nothing dubious about them. He was coming off the 1989 series where the English umpires gave him 19 lbws, simply because he bowled right next to the stumps.
Never heard a commentator say ***what a beautiful bowler to anyone in history***it's only the god of bowling who makes ball talk ...the greatest bowler of all time sir Wasim Akram...respect from greatest fan all over world..

With Grieg and Benaud passed away, and Lawry retiring, the 12th man Billy Birmingham may have to find a real job for the first time in his life ....
A real legend. Such an inspiration for all the bowlers.
Greatest fast Bowler world ever seen Swing, pace, bouncers Reverse swing, toe crushers and a useful allrounder on time,Such a find he was by the Great Imran Khan himself and made him the most sparkling light and king among great bowlers
he is diamond of cricket
The cricket nowdays has shifted alot in the batsman's favor. Thicker bats, shorter boundaries and highway pitches. ICC should give a balance to both bowling and batting.
IGA Media always give attention to only batsman
Why?
If india controls ICC then ICC will make game in favor of batsman thats very simple
IGA Bring in good bowlers, and you still see a sizzler. T-20 has really hyped the batsmen and people come to see long sixes. Very few people want the bowling, as the bother paid with the mind of batsman before getting him out
It is very unfortunate. A cricket lover
ICC should eliminate the 2 balls rule in ODIs, and reverse swing will come back. Then its definitely more interesting to watch ODI cricket.
Absolutely loving the from the vault series. Fantastic uploads CA please keep them coming.
If Wasim used the Aussies as fielders like McGrath and Warne did, he would have had many more wickets.
Nikhil Kelkar rightly said..Harsha shouldn't have been dropped
It's so.sad .. do you mean to say bill Lawry was dropped .. when ..?? Could you please explain it to.me...
Nikhil Kelkar even that was pretty fair comment
+rahul raj . nice
rahul raj loved your positive comment while others can only make fun of it. god bless you
Clocked a few around 150kph once the speed gun was introduced around the time of Shoaib and Lee emerged.
My favorite spells of fast bowling from the early 90's:
Ambrose against England 1990: speed on par with Patrick Patterson, probably a whisker quicker than prime Michael Holding - or at least Jeffrey Doujon seems to think so. Then there was that one over of pure insanity from Danny Morrison at the SCG in 1991:
th-cam.com/video/5S6UL900C4I/w-d-xo.html - just watch this, it's frightening.
Allan Donald at the Wanderers against England in 1995, just brutal.
... and pretty much any time Waqar played against India.
yeah lots of sympathy for someone who is paid to do something and fails
Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were led down by their fielders and batsmen always..
I think people took Richie's comment totally wrong. What he meant was that the hatrack ball was as good as to get a Hatrick. Yes, he did finish his career with 4 international Hatricks. Great player.
Yes correct!! It was great ball and so close to getting him the hat trick!
I don't think so... Benaud meant what he obviously said. But tye bigger question is... Did Pakistan win😂😂😂
@@yesbose Batting let them down
There cannot be another wasim akram and none greater than him. Talent, hardwork, humility, attitude under complete control, wonderful!!!
Insane to imagine how many wickets this guy has taken with some of the worst fielding in the world lol. Such a talented bowler. If he had actual fielders he could have take at least another 50+ wickets easily
82 catches were dropped on his bowling 53 of those were in slip cordon
Could ve taken
Sub se zaida india ki gand mari ha 90s me 😂😂😂😂 khailna he chor dia tha pakistan se 😂😂😂foran rone lag jate the indian crickter 😂😂😂....
1 brings 2 and so on, stupid pak fielders
Swing, Reverse Swing, Seam Movement, Yorkers, Line Lengh Accuracy. , King of Swing. Best Swinging Bowler in Cricket 🏏.
Wasim Akrim would be first pick in my all-time best bowling attack, along side Joel Garner.
what a bowler.....what a player .......what a team.......never seen that great side of 90's again
Unbelievable bowler.
Imagine if he had DRS and better fielders to support him.
Oh and he even walked like a Gangster lol
Drs worked also for batsman
then 700 wickets in test not a big deal
@@Sport-yc6xg jealousy
The best ever and I am aussie with lots of great bowlers ourselves. Amazing to watch in person.

_"This man is G R E I T... Great.. I love it"_
Aussie accent... i love it :D
The world' best bowler ever at his best...thank for this video...He was a complete bowling tutorial...No body can ever match his skills ..In my childhood I used to copy his action but being a right hander I never succeed
Akram would have averaged 18 if Pakistan had better catchers. Their catching was and still is club cricket level bad!!
sdroy84agt So youre saying Pakistan dropped 130 catches off the bowling of Wasim Akram over his career. hmmm... yeh thats probably accurate.
sdroy84agt that's true but i can't comprehend how Waqar has a way better strike rate than Wasim (43 to 54) In test cricket S/R is more important than Ave.
kison SL Thats simply because Waqar was almost as good a wicket taker as Akram (though no where as good a bowler).
Brilliant!
Arguably the best fast bowler to have ever played the game.
Respect from India this man is a magician with the Ball. Real gem for cricket fans who are looking for some great cricket not modern day run feast.
1:49 i like how the commentator says “well you wont get any closer to a hatrick in your life my boy”
Gets a hattrick in the same match!
If only he didn’t have to spend a bulk of his career bowling on the dustbowls of Pakistan and the sub- continent. This man would have had 700 test wickets. Greatest fast bowler ever ! A magician really
Best left arm paceman in the history of cricket, ALWAYS in my greatest ever team
People in Pakistan are comparing Shaheen Afridi with this Legend he is nowhere close to him. One of the best bowler in the world. He will always feature in any world eleven team. Respect from India.
i dont agreed when ppl call r write bset left arm bowler, he is best bowler period, weather left r right arm, he has no competitor.
Settle down mate.....
@@davewalkeden6932 may I know what heart you the most from my statement
He's got plenty of competition for that number 1 spot, mate.....
@@davewalkeden6932 like whome. Send some example.
What a great bowler! What beauty it is to watch him swing the ball like that!
There was just a One WASIM AKRAM, there will never be any another wasim, He is such a lagend, I regret that I couldnt watch him playing cricket.
Such an amazing bowler he had everything pace, swing either way, deadly bouncer, Yorker, cut, great slower ball.... all off a 15m run up.....amazing to watch him play!
The Greatest Bowler ever
The Greatest fast bowler ever.....Feel Privileged to have seen him live for 15 years. Absolute Magician with ball. The ball was always at his command....it did whatever Waz told it to do.
Once in a Century Cricketer
Flat wickets, dead fielders and he produced this many wickets out of this. All time best bowler.
Disgrace
😄😄😝😝
We 90s kids were lucky to see him play live😍
Man did that slip cordon suck. Nevertheless, what bowling! The ball did all sorts of things in this compilation! Zip straight, swerve, swing, bounce high, bounce low, dip late. Jeez!
genius with the ball and smasher with the bat.
The legend of Wasim Akram
If only we can reverse time back... and seem wassim play again
vvvvvvvvv Add waqar too
Oh adams Add Akhtar too
and Amir too
Mansoor Qaisrani bhai, Amir came much after this golden time. Here we r talking abuot the time when the best fast bowling trivio of Akram, waqar and akhtar were playing.
+vvvvvvvvv indeed.
Absolutely genuine Pace
What a beautiful bowler 💚
wasim takes 6 to restrict australia at 223. pakistani batting folds at 107. true story.
3:36 of course Pak bowled out for 107 LOL
Pak still got back in the game in the 2nd innings and were set for an unlikely win when Marsh took a blinder of Ijaz who has scored a hundred before 4 dubious leg before decisions sent Aus 1-0 in the series.
umpires those days preferred home teams
I haven't checked the scorecard, but if those lbws were to Terry Alderman then there would have been nothing dubious about them. He was coming off the 1989 series where the English umpires gave him 19 lbws, simply because he bowled right next to the stumps.
