Fun Fact, Oil Ocean's current theme is just Sand Showers theme reused, originally Oili Ocean used a more, calm theme, which was Casino Night 2P slowed down a bit. Same goes with Winter Hill Zone and Sky Chase, although Sky Chase never had an original theme, it just used Wing Fortress's theme as a place holder.
I'm pretty sure the reason Sky Chase never had an original theme is because it (Alongside Wing Fortress) wasn't a planned stage, Wing Fortress's theme probably would play elsewhere (no clue where tho :v)
The theme from Wing Fortress would've been played in Death Egg Zone. And some of the art made for it was repurposed for Wing Fortress in the final. At least that's all I know.

Mystic Cave 2P for Blue Lake Zone, and Winter Zone's theme was reused for Sky Chase, that's why the theme has a Christmas tone to it, as it was meant for a snow level, which is why the theme lasts longer than the level it's tied to. But the Wing Fortress theme is an updated version of the zone, "Sky Fortress Zone" 's theme. But that track only shows up in later builds, yet it shows up before Wing Fortress or Sky Fortress were ever added to the level list so who knows.
@@Cretaceous158 Dust Hill IS the name for ruined Green Hill, as, it’s the name on the concept map. But since Green Hill was scrapped in favor of Emerald Hill, Dust Hill Zone was over written with Mystic Cave’s data.

@@JoshHarris-ld5yc I meant the past version was scrapped first. I guess the idea for the snow level being in the ruined present would be a nuclear winter, similar to Robotnik Winter from Sonic Triple Trouble.
Since (because I guess because Mania made Mirage Saloon a part of West Island) Oil Ocean and Mirage Saloon are relatively close to each other, I like to think Mirage Saloon was WAY fucking bigger, but then Robotnik struck gold and founded Oil Ocean. Not sure why Sonic hasn’t completely destroyed the place yet, seems to be generating Egghead infinite money. 😂
I always just assumed someone else owned the oil factory and Eggman just took it over with his robots. But if it’s Eggman’s factory… you’d think Sonic would have destroyed it by now.

I don’t think any of manias level transitions canonically make one zone connected to the other. Because if that’s your logic, then Hydrocity would be a part of Little Planet because Stardust Speedway’s transition has Sonic falling into Hydrocity Zone from a trapdoor. And we all know Hydrocity is a part of Angel island. Not little planet.
@@Smhedgehog In mania plus he does, which apparently takes place after forces and the first run through of mania. Before mania plus, you just fell from stardust speedway into hydrocity. Eggman never used the phantom ruby the first time.

Oooooo this is nice. The visuals are cool too, I love that the sky is a little more gloomy, fits with the tone of the song well I think.
I actually didn't like the sky's color that much at first. But I tried it and it somehow fit really well. My friend did all the palette swaps.
