    Matbock slamming the table right now.

      Matbock is crazy to charge as much as they do for the eclipse when this is less expensive and much more appealing to the eye, imo

    When it's fully closed does it work as the day cap to protect the tube

    And the mounting system for my bump helmet, now I have to set and lock my focus stop.

    wow, great video and presentation. I was avoiding notching butler creek caps, didn't like that method very much. I assumed your video would go that route, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Thank you for the upload and the information!

    Can you use the lens from the sacrificial lenses that come in most kits? It should be a higher quality bluish purple carson lens.

    Any issues or concerns with the rubber iris adjustment ring coming off? With this being a threaded body I can foresee the iris housing backing itself off the pvs-14 body as you rotate the iris around a few times.
    - Good 💩, thanks for sharing

      The iris adjustment is so easy and light if you snug it up to the objective as much as you can, it won’t come loose. I’ve had em on there for so long at this point and they’ve never come loose and the rubber is still totally intact.

    Just making sure/ you need the 1.5-26mm m30-m37 adjustable iris
    And the 37mm uv protection lens?

    • @Rungunseattacos

    • @Rungunseattacos

      None at all. These are significantly easier to turn than the objective lens so the objective lens stays in place.

    • @Rungunseattacos
      @Rungunseattacos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, you can’t. You’d have to use the Butler Creek type method or just buy the, grossly overly priced, Tasier Eclipse.

      I’m not sure what the thread pitch for 31’s is but if I had to guess, probably not. Because when I was searching for these I could only find them with a 30mm thread and a 42mm thread.

    • @andrewshaio1181
      @andrewshaio1181 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rungunseattacos The problem in these chinese iris things, the male side which has thread 30mm*0,9 mm pitch its a metric pitch.
      The PVS objective female thread is 30mm*0,5mm (which is Imperial), not a big difference someone would say, but from batch to batch these Chinese crapy things can have tolerance between -/+ 0.1-0.2 mm… so no guaranty that you will not chew the thread on your PVS objective lens. The option with butler creek cap has a bit more benefits, because your polycarbon protective lens gives an extra protection to your iris, and also the cap give an extra protection to the polycarbon lens when the cap is closed. And if you make a small hole in the cap, it also works as a daycap.
