After completely renovating my 40 sq meter apt in the alps, 15 years ago I installed a Miele Oven and Dish Washer - After about 5 years I ended up removing both to make more drawer space. What a waste of money! I never used the oven and found my little electric toaster oven perfectly adequate as I do most things on the stovetop anyways (I don't entertain). I have never missed the oven or dishwasher which I only used occasionally, as I don't have much to wash. As a vegan (for 40 years - I'm 71 and fitter and healthier then I was at 20), I tend to eat extremely simply as well, organic, and try to avoid processed food except for around the holidays when I may indulge in some cookies :) I too like to pretty much eat the same things all of the time - unless I am doing something special like eating at a Thai Restaurant - not so often. Otherwise plain and simple is not only easier but also less stress on our organs! I am more or less on a Japanese Okinawa diet without the seafood (fish is either farmed and most likely full of antibiotics, chemicals|heavy metals), I think the reason the Japanese live forever is because of the simplicity of their meals, unprocessed food, low meat, dairy, sugar, plus green tea, matcha) and their meals being so full of vegetables and Miso (at least the older generation). I could easily make everything I need with your kitchen arrangement. By the way, the majority of Japanese don't have ovens - only a toaster over or microwave (I personally don't like microwaves) - they just have a little pull out grill below the stovetop. The majority have tiny kitchens. Less is More! Thanks again for a wonderful video. Always look forward!

Thanks so much for sharing, Elle. It's very inspiring to read how you manage to eat healthy in a simple way that suits you and your needs. And I'm definitely going to look into the Japanese Okinawa diet! :)

@@AnjasArtWorld - Well I figure they must be doing something right since they are the longest lived people on the planet. The older generation living in to their 90s up. If you google 'chart of original Okinawa diet' its really quite fascinating - along with percentages of each food group. It was interesting to discover that 70% of their intake was sweet potatoes. Still applies I believe for the elders. The book 'The Blue Zones' (where people live live the longest healthiest lives) focused on Okinawa for one of their studies. We all have different individual needs at different points in our lives. What works for some, doesen't always work for others. After many years of working with different diets (including macrobiotic for a long time), I still believe that the Japanese is the best - if people feel the need for animal protein best to eat wild salmon - its probably the healthiest due to its omega 3 count! Looking forward to your next video :)

The bread with whipped egg white looks so interesting!
As a minimalist, I like to follow a "keto-ish", "carnivore-ish" diet, with almost no sugar and very low carbohydrates. It's so easy - no cooking pasta, rice or bread. I eat lots of meat, seafood, eggs, dairy etc and small amounts of salads, pickled veg and green vegies. My "treats" are a nice whisky or gin every so often, and dark chocolate.
I used to be vegan and very focused on organic food, smoothies etc. However, I find my current approach is infinitely simpler and it has healed some of my prior health problems which the veganism caused.
Also, this year I got rid of my fridge!! Might sound impossible, but I just buy meat or seafood from my local butcher or fish market on the day I use it. I have ghee in my cupboard, and if I need yoghurt I just buy the single serve pouches and eat it the day I buy. I now never need to clean a fridge, and I never waste any food at all.

Thanks so much for sharing, Odette. It's so nice to hear that you have found a diet that works for you. It sounds so good and healthy. I love the simplicity of it! 'Keto-ish diets' seems to work best for me too :) normal pasta, rice or bread also caused me a lot of health issues.
I share the same experience with you, for me too the vegan diet made my health issues much worse and even created some severe new ones, unfortunate. I really wanted it to work so badly but all the soy and grains took a toll on my body. So now this vegetarian version with lots of eggs and some dairy is the best middle part for me :) introducing eggs and butter/ghee and some feta and switching my diet more into paleo instead of the typical grains, soy and plain carbs helped so much.
Wow, I'm really impressed with you getting rid of the fridge, must feel so free and liberating. Love it! Thanks so much for sharing, it's very inspiring. 💛

Everything looks delicious. We are a family of 4 including 2 plant-based and try and keep cooking simple. We have recipes we use on rotation and love our air fryer for much quicker baking. Also cook curries and stir fries and grill meat and fish and of course lots of beans and veggies. 🥑🥬

Once upon a time i had an oven and did my own bread. After it broke i have tried to do it in stove but never got nice fluffy bread. You should share that recipe 😉. Often i do one pan cooking, less to wash🙂 Thanks for sharing!

I moved into a new place about 1 year ago, it doesnt have a fitting for a full size cooker unit (old house that wasn't moderised). As a tempoary measure we were going to make do with our single burner (like you) a Halogen Oven (some people now call it an air fryer :/), rice cooker and slow cooker. It really is amazing how much and what you can cook if you are a little more prepared and flexible. When we renovate the house fully we are going to limit the kitchen to a 2 stove burner no need for anything beyond that.

I have two of those stoves and i only use one at the time to cook for my partner and me. Also because i rent and the kitchen counters are small, but also because i think it's not necesary to use both. I cook first the rice or vegetables and then the fish of other ingredients.
