It was always amusing how Lowndes' tyre failure came not even a minute after the team reassured the pit reporter that they were monitoring the degradation. That sequence of events could not have been better engineered for the want of trying. 😆
It was a Porsche Cup car. It actually went over the 5 or so meter high phone poles along the outside of the front straight at about the same spot where Lownde's tyre blew. It wasn't violent by the time it gently toppled over and landed on it's roof. In one of the other weekends, I think it was the same one that Brad Jones had his flip, one of the Porsches did the same thing during their first practice on a cold Friday morning but actually flipped over the barrier by the tyres and ended up on it's roof in the pit lane itself.
G'day supercars! How bout a CGI graphic of potential damages to the driver & car! It doesn't sound good @ first but I reckon like crash test Dummies, what it can potentially mean for the driver! & How important, the safety of the cars have advanced over the years! It would certainly reinforce for me personally driver safety... Just my opinion, & we all know what there like! 😁😂😉
Jason Richard's rollover in 2003 could also be considered as one of the biggest crashes that happened at Pukekohe.
Good to hear Barry's voice again after all these years.
good ol Puke never failed to throw in some carnage..

rest in peace mark porter
Supercars are more entertaining than F1.
Is that really a surprise?
Yessssssssssssssssss
tht final complex is one of the most rollover-prone sections of track i've ever seen
Surprised not to see Brights one from 2016
Brad Jones as usual with the most damage
2:56 Oh f**k
I also remember when Jason Bright triggered a Red Flag because he wound up blocking the pitlane.
2:44 warra voice crack
Geez Baird absolutely obliterated that fence/PA pole in the first one - thank whatever deities exist there wasn't a marshall or someone there....
I remember a support race they had were one car almost jumped into the grandstand

@@KiwiHelpgeek I remember it being a Porsche and I think 1 or 2 tyres continued going down the track.
My dad was one of the flag marshals responding to that incident
great track
Not the first time I have seen a redbull car go into the wall randomly on the straight 😳
nice video
What about Jason Richards rollover?
I can only imagine how much money was spent on repairs after that one Super Tourer crash
I remember that first Lowndes one. Dunlop got called a lot of very colourful names in my living room that day.
0:15 OUCH! Car 8 hit and snap the P.A. system pole like a toothpick snap in half.
Yeah I noticed, saw this LIVE on French Television when I was young.
There is nothing a little cut n buff won't fix!
TOP THE BEST 👍👍👍

Rip pukekohe you will be missed
This is HD like I am an ovulating walrus.

Too many cars in the field
You call 25 to many? 25 is the amount of cars today.
Always keep assuming it’s the biggest crashes from this year at the racetracks
