Man 2022 was a harsh year in terms of crashes. Just goes to show the safety of these cars with the fact that there were no serious injuries and everyone walked away relatively okay.
And people wonder why people think he is dangerous. Imagine with the pace he had where he would have been at Bathurst, or in a couple of these incidents, as he is able to race through the pack.
@@Progamer-br2lw never mentioned who was in the car. Heimgartner would have been a threat simply because Dale would have handed the car back in a decent position. Had the car not been involved in someone else’s crash
One thing I've noticed as an American: a lot of former and current NASCAR and Indycar sponsors have joined V8 Supercar racing in the past few years. If this trend says anything, people and sponsors are catching onto the marketability and excitement of the series. I love to see it!
I disagree with the notion in the Pye crash at Perth that the other driver should hit the brakes, Pye has to leave a space and not run the guy out of road, yes the other driver could brake, but none of it happens if you leave a cars width, which you should.
Yeah, whats he supposed to do let off it and lose all those positions? Should not have squeezed him like that if he didnt want to end up in the wall/grass.
Obviously all accidents carry risk, but those start line accidents are so damn scary because it’s often 1 car/bike not moving and another one (or more) at full throttle
These were some heavy hits. I think Neil and Mark were harsh on Zane Goddard, just a rookie mistake which he’ll learn from. The Jack Lebroq and Scott Pye crash at Perth, yeah Jack could of lifted however he is entitled to racing room. Scott did squeeze him to the edge. I’m sure there is a rule if there is any overlap between cars, you’ve got to leave racing room unless you got spun from the B piller back. Oh well the boys were racing hard, at least Scott walked away from that shunt. That Gold coast incident was chaos, I’m fine with kerbs, even though theres been some serious accidents from other categories from the sausage kerbs over seas. The tyre bundles didn’t help either. Maybe lower the kerbs and use pollards instead of the tyres. Even yet the sensors. Do 3 kerb jumps, drive through or 15 second time penalty.
Some really unlucky incidents this year, glad everyone was OK. That crash at Surfers was so unfortunate, so much money spent to get the cars back for one last event before Gen3. Hats off to the teams for immaculate rebuilds.
yeah fuck I remember that one well. Was followed by that insane first chicane Aussie Racing Cars crash right after. The field that weekend was 50 cars I think
I was there at the scene of the Gold Coast accident. Oh man that was big 😅 it was a big crash, and at one point fire! I recorded the whole thing and it was pretty scary when everyone was involved. Sausage kerbs and tire bundles are a dangerous mix.
For 4:40 Curbs are fine but these dam soussage curbs (Orange/Yellow) need to be banned. Making so much heavy collision in 2022. F1 Gt3 Races and here. This can be avoided and cleaner races could be driven without such a mess.
That second Courtney accident makes me shudder, to think of the other one when he was on the other end of it, getting smacked in the door, can't remember who the other driver was!
Skaife way out of line on the Pye crash. Can't dangerously block when there's an overlap, it was a bit of really poor driving from Scott unfortunately but entirely his own fault. If Le Brocq lifts because he's illegally blocked he's vulnerable to getting overtaken by the next guy. All worked fairly in the end.
That Bathurst crash was big. But as I see it, he was in a no win situation. He was on the wet grass. Hitting the brakes would've slid him in the wall. I think most drivers would've done what he did & keep momentum and try driving out and avoid the wall, but a combination off momentum and wet tyres were a recipe for disaster once he hit the bitumen again.
The crash at the bend there was nothing randle nor heimgartner could do in enough time before the impact, the car's anti-stall kicked in and sometimes in most touring cars, the engine does not start back up for another 10 seconds, nothing heimgartner or randle could do, brilliantly both drivers walked out with a sore back and nothing else but that which is good.
I am sick of the "NASCAR" effect on Australian motor racing. Safety cars are a blight on racing... and two car teams can deliberately toss a car to the gods in order to bring the "Safety Car" out, and to benefit their other car. Australian Touring Car racing is almost as boring as Yank oval track racing these days.
2022 was a very good year for Will. The bloke is 40 is easily showed up his highly regarded team mate in Anton, takeout SVG and he was challenging for the championship with Water and Mostert all year.

Cheers to track medics!

Heimgartner is so unlucky in alot of these.
2-3 times... i agree it's unlucky... but more than that and it switches to something entirely different... even ignorance and stupidity.
And people wonder why people think he is dangerous. Imagine with the pace he had where he would have been at Bathurst, or in a couple of these incidents, as he is able to race through the pack.
@@formulafish1536 in Bathurst he wasn’t in the car it was dale wood

Nope
shane van gisbergen joined nascar next year he has a whole year.
5:51 the guy falling as probably the worse injury lol
i myself had to drive out of the way a few times as a marshal. gotta watch out for all the debris that follows
5:55 Old mate pissing himself over the guy tripping over bahaha

Absolutely, skaifey got that dead wrong and the stewards also disagreed with him

Rolling start is safer but no one wants to copy the Americans.
... and coming from the back if the grid, shedloads of momentum..!
This just highlighted how many big accidents Courtney had
These were some heavy hits.

Been a while since we had a year like this. Props to the safety in the cars tho
This is racing in its purest form no stupid rules great crashes overtakes diffacult cars to drive absolutely perfect and entertaining as a car series

The one on the Gold Coast reminded me of a V8 Utes crash in the same spot in 2013
yeah fuck I remember that one well. Was followed by that insane first chicane Aussie Racing Cars crash right after. The field that weekend was 50 cars I think
I actually have a different view for the Darwin crash. If you guys want, I can upload my recording of my view of the crash, it's not copyrighted.
I believe I'm right in saying the Gold Coast pile up is the biggest pile up since Tasmania 2017
Jeez Louise some absolute belters here.

100% race directors fault who puts tyre walls in the middle of a track with 30 cars racing around it, even that chicane is asking for trouble
It's still crazy to me that the announcers acted like Goddard intended to rejoin like that.

That Courtney car racked up some serious bills
Courtney had one season where he didn’t crash all the time and won a championship. Under achieved most his career for his immense talent.
i was waiting for this video
Randle proberly knew someone mifht go right in the back of him and heimgartner's Front went all the way in!
That second Courtney accident makes me shudder, to think of the other one when he was on the other end of it, getting smacked in the door, can't remember who the other driver was!
It was Alex Premat at Phillip Island

yeah the announcer had suck a bad take on that one.
Said this in the Reddit discussion: the incident reminded him of his incident with Ingall at Eastern Creek

Tremendos accidentes!! 👍👍🇪🇦🇦🇷
How do Le broq and heimgartner have racing licenses?
I've seen more professional driving in demolition derby than the unsafe re-join at Bathurst. That guy should receive a race ban for that callas move.

Poor Nulon lol gawd
What is it with Scott Pye and having the worst crashes in the sport?
Not even nascar makes vids on their official channel of the biggest crashes of the season😂
Brad Jones as usual getting damage
Track assist
More like crash assist 😂
Can Pye catch a break for once? Pls.
Jack le brock needs to go back to driving school
C'mon mate - planets rotate...motorcars spin
Zane Goddard is still looking for his other braincell.
thats just holden taking out ford with imunity
Why dose this guy always say shunt. Expand your vocabulary bro, it's been years
You spelled does wrong.
I wish I didn’t have to 👍 crashes.
Too many Mustangs
Bring back holden please
Tell GM.
ban some teams

Heimgartner having a little nap there I think.
R.I.P. Ken Block 😪
The only time the drivers are in danger is if its upside down on fire, otherwise, meh, very little risk
