The irony is that if a handheld feels too premium it becomes anxiety inducing to carry with you whereas a cheaper handheld will get the job done even if the gaming experience isn't quite as good. I think the RP5 is an ideal commuter handheld, for someone who has to ride a train daily for a set amount of time and can enjoy a quality gaming experience without much interruption. For someone who wants to throw something in their pocket and get a few quick minutes of gaming here and there, the Trim UI makes a lot more sense.
Sorry to hear about the loss in your family mate. I’m glad you were flexible in the challenge for that reason, family comes first. Also you playing Fortnite with the kids and spending time with your daughter is heartwarming. Happy holidays to you and the family!
My condolences man. It sucks to lose those who we most important. I hope yours still manages to find someone joy in the festivities. Celebrate his life, mourn his passing, and have a nice day
Kinda ironic that the only handheld retroid put the analog on top was the retroid pocket 2 which had the worst sticks the right stick on it was a 8 way slider
My condolences to you and your family. Thanks for sharing this video. The RP5 is an amazing device. It definitely has a premium look to it as it has the all glass cover. Due to the size and material design I would not consider it pocketable. While the size is nice, the RP5 would probably be best used for couch gaming or a device you can carry with a case. The Trimui Brick, is a small device designed to be pocketable and probably suits your needs better as you can quickly take out of pockets and resume short gameplays. Overall I have been considering the RP Mini since it seems to be best of both worlds. I still do not like the all glass cover. But having something that is powerful and pocketable is great to have.
Agree a amaller handheld is better for busy parents. Its about having a few minutes of gaming here and there and a premium handheld just feels like another responsibility to babysit on. PS2 games also tend to require a bit more tjme commitment as well.
Sincere condolences, buddy! 🙏Stay strong, you and your family. I feel you in all words said in this video. The begging of the year we also lost one of our closest family members and his love and big support is missing to this day. In this video you also showed what is important in life and that having the latest and greatest device does not always bring joy. As per the RP5.. its good but.. I guess we are used to flawed devices and this one just does not have personality...
You were most likely using the widescreen hack correctly, but for a lot of games it makes it so the 3D portion of the game 16:9 correctly but the ui is stretched.
Im definitely waiting for a lot of handhelds to come out to see if there any good options if i dont see anything that I like then i will purchase RP5 a year later because the software would update to make a great gaming experience plus i can replace the right analog stick to a lower one so that way it wont be in the way when im using the directional buttons and I can take it with me whenever I go
It looks gorgeous; I really do enjoy the aesthetic of the unit, but for me personally, I don't think it'd be all that comfortable to hold because of the lack of room on the edges and buttons; could just be me though. So sorry to hear of your family's loss and we hope you know we're here for you and hoping you still have as good of a holiday season as possible.
Thanks for this video, mine arrived a couple weeks ago. I personally love mine, it's great. Particularly for PS2 (so far). Random question, are you Welsh? I seem to pick up a very slight hint of accent, and (dont ask me why), but you strike me as 'welsh' looking also
Thanks for the video I'm considering grabbing this. Based on what you'd like out of a system, I feel like the perfect one for you would be the slim Vita if you don't already have one.
This is simultaneously my most and least anticipated video from you! The RP5 looks so awesome so I wanna hear your experience but I don’t wanna fall in love with it and spend the money 😅
Awful SoC (SD865 routinely trades blows with or LOSES to the D1100 and runs insanely hot), very blurry and badly colored "OLED" screen (why are blacks lit up?), a useless glass front that just makes using it cumbersome and annoying (and stupid when, again, the SD865 runs VERY HOT AND GLASS DOES NOT LIKE TO BE COOKED)... what is the point of this? I hope Retroid paid you good for this.

I ended up buying a little cable case to hold it. It doesn't add extra bulk really and keeps the screen protected.

RP5 at home, RG35xxsp when I travel (until the next version of either improves on these)

What emulator and bios are you using for ps2 mate? I can't get my ps2 to run without stutter.
My fave color of RP5
So sorry for y'alls loss. Prayers heading y'alls way! Thank you for uploading this video, even though it was a tough week for you.
Hi brother, you should do psp 1000 for a month but mod it
"Chronik Spartan Gaming"..... Just the name and the whole package is so fucking weird.
"And this happened" complete sheep!!!!!!!

Wish you went back to making vidoes about devices that are not these types of devices.
You're brainless or what
