The allegory of the story was that John Coffey was basically Jesus Christ and the same initials. If Jesus Christ came back to Earth,he would take a different form, and he would still be persecuted.
I don't know a soul in my life who had dry eyes in during the end of this movie 💯😭

Steven king said he wrote it thinking what if Jesus came to earth as a black man in the 1930s south.

The part that always gets me is, when asked for their last words, everybody else says, "I'm sorry for what I did." John says, "I'm sorry for what I am." Brutal 😢

This film needs to come with a Droggo, the support we all need during this scene. Made me laugh the way he just sat up
