I have both ola and ather. Let me tell you, ather is no where near ola in terms of tech, ride comfort and overall fit and finish. But yes, ather is more reliable.
You are correct bro I was impressed by some of Ola’s specifications like Bluetooth speakers and customizable themes. I was almost about to confirm my choice, but my inner feelings leaned towards Ather. I had been watching their R&D videos on TH-cam since 2021. Finally, I followed my gut and bought the Ather. So far, I’ve had no issues, and the best part is, my neighbor bought an Ola, and within six months, he had to tow his vehicle to the service center three times. Thank God I bought the Ather!
I have worked in OLA previously and the problem lies in the root, OLA's always on hurry, they want the things to be build in a day everything as if there is no tomorrow. I am working with Maruti now and I see how much effort and time Maruti puts into developing a good product with 0 defects.

They have their own issue. First of all, battery warranty is only 5 yrs! 2ndly, excluding the Rizta their scooter are very uncomfortable and thirdly, their belt drive is also tearing like that of Ola.

the keyless system was the no1 reason why i avoided Ola and purchased Ather. It has never given me a single problem or glitch while some of my friends have faces multiple glitches with their Ola.

Though it's got less moving parts, but it has "software" which ICE scooters ain't got. Their "jaldbaazi me fatafat launch kro" attitude must have left errors to be bypassed from the software developers and the senior managers must have passed the software with the bugs and errors to relieve the time pressure being put on them by their seniors. I think ather did everything really well. They had a slow but steady pace, they ensured never to have any software glitches or battery hazards to bypass. Indeed, never heard of any complain from ather owners except the fact they are pricier than their competitors. I guess ather would also be able to sort that out too in future.

I was upgrading my father's Splendor to an EV. Ola was an option but the feedback from a friend stopped and i brought an Iqube. 2+ years of ownership and no issue 😊

I also own OLA s1 pro and OLA scooter is trash. Boot is permanently locked because screen dosent work, GPS never worked from day one, rattling noise coming from everywhere, ghost touches starts on screen everytime, regen doesn't work after riding a few kilometres and app also doesn't work for opening boot (both on Android and ios). From more than a year I am running around ola service centers but staff only misbehaves and don't help with any problems. (I missed your survey) Conclusion I have burnt my 1.5 lakh rupees.

You can't get any spare parts for Ola scooters and no vehicle repairing shop is ready to deal with Ola as they love to not use any market standard parts. As for consumer forums, consumer rights regulator CCPA has already sent notice to Ola and is dealing with Ola. So yeah spending money on Ola scooters is equal to burning your hard earned money.

Ola electric came to campus and hired girls instead of all the more technically aligned and high gpa guys for diversity reasons. I was one of those guys who did well in the interview but when the list of the candidates who got the job, it was surprisingly all girls. All the guys in the university were pissed and complaining to the placements center. But the placements center said they can't do anything because it was ola electric's decision to make. From that day onwards, I wished the downfall of the company. And everytime I see a teary eyed/angry ola electric customer, I gives me that pleasure in my heart to see ola electric literally and figuratively burning. At least ather had their interview process hard enough that after going through it, I myself felt that I was lacking as a candidate. And it was not the company's fault that I didn't get the job. Ather came in and took the best candidates possible. Ola came in and took diversity hires.

Proud owner of Ather, our ather that's being used for work has clocked 70k kms and my own ather has clocked 6k kms 💖 10/10 will recommend this one to others as well. The service costs might be a little higher as compared to competitors and ICE but in the long run it is cheaper and is very good for riding in the city with that instant acceleration.

You are right D2C model of OLA is one of the major problems because at each service centre no body appears to be in charge or takes responsibility. The manager puts the onus on the technician and the technician expresses his helplessness about being overwhelmed and lack of available parts
Been an Ola S1 Pro user for over a year now with more then 14k Km clocked on the scooter. I genuinely love the product they have offered in an competitive pricing. The only problem i have complaints about are the service centre, there is no man power to handle all the scooters which are piling up day after day. The quality of the parts being used are also sub-par compared to ICE scooters in that price range. My scooter has been sitting in the service center for almost a month now concerning a Parking mode issue which i have noticed is not uncommon among other users. Regardless i feel its a really fun scooter and daily commuter. Hope Ola address the customer service issues and improve their parts quality.
I do own a ola s1 pro gen 2 and initially I faced similar probelms such as screen not working, screen flickering and not able to switch to drive mode. The solution is to restart the scooter and this solves all the problems. And after the latest update I don't face these issues anymore. One thing I noticed was whenever I faced these kind of issues most of the time I was near a high voltage power line or near the electrical control unit (In the parking) I guess this is because of some sort of electro magnetic fields which influence the computer of scooter again I'm not 100% sure this is what I observed. Another problem is with the service centers of ola I live in Lucknow and the condition of ola service centres is terrible here. Unless you have an ola subscription you need atleast 2 hours just for the technician to touch the scooter that to if you reserve your slot on prior basis.

The numbers you mentioned are actually the peak power figures, not the battery capacity at 10:50. Ola has 11kW peak power and Ather has 6.4kW. The battery capacities are 4kWh for Ola and around 3.7kWh for Ather. Also, the braking and suspension issue with Ola was fixed in the second-gen model but there are a lot of software and build quality issues with the scooters which Ola should improve ASAP and the service centres lack trained technical staff which is causing delays and dissatisfaction among customers. People fall into the trap thinking that more technology/latest "smart" technology means "better" but real world has proven otherwise. All these "smart" systems and electronics have the same problem - the added complexity means more points of failure, which causes more problems and they fail more, which the companies being inexperienced are unable to handle (older companies may fare better). The products are themselves built with an assumption that "hey if any issue we can simply release a software update to fix everything". More often than not, that update breaks things further. 1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back.
10:57 it was motor peak power which is in KW (kilo watt). Athers battery is 3.7 kWh Ola’s may be 5-6 kWh. Great video btw. I’m ather 450x user. Other than belt noise there is zero issue. Also I solve belt issue at my home just cleaning belt and applying silicone spray which is powermax spray. Range prediction is also nearly perfect. Overall good scooter❤
I also own an ola, and if there is any glitch in the MID you can always restart the scooter by long pressing reverse and power button. All problems related to the MID gets resolved through this. So itna bhi bhura nahi hai ola jitna log bolte hai.

R&D mein kami nahi hai kyunki R&D ki he nahi hai inhone seedha European company ko kharid ke unki same gaadi India utar di, rather ATHER researched for 5 years only on battery and motor then it took 5 more years for them to make 450s complete and i know the perfection of the vehicle and i am happy owner. Ola just focused on selling not on CRM because of which we see all this. But what hurts is Indians don't support companies like ATHER and ultraviolett who are working hard to minimize long term problems

You are correct, i face screen glitch 2-3 times in my 2 years of ownership but it didnt bother me because vehicle was perfectly running. It resolved everytime i restarted the vehicle. I faced issue with controller unit and belt but it was replaced under warranty by ather and vehicle was delivered at same day evening. Only when controller unit suddenly broke down, i had to call towing service to get the vehicle at my home and then later serivice center. I didnt opt for rsa so had to call for local service. I am not sure how good is ather rsa as i never used it.
My scooter is in the service centre for the last 21 days 😢😢 very bad service I was promised that I will get back my scooter before the puja but they lied. 😢 Very upsetting I would urge everyone not to buy this scooter very poor after sales service 😞 disappointing

@10:55 the battery spec are wrong, Ola has 4kWh and Ather 3.7kWh not 11 or 6.4. I also own the Ola s1Pro Gen2 and touchwood never had any issues so far. It has one of the best seats on any scooters and the riding position is spot on. A few occasional software glitches do come up but they vanish once the scooter is rebooted by pressing the reverse and the the power button simultaneously for 10 seconds. Also it has one of the best center of gravity due to the floor battery placement, the cornering and maneuverability is amazing. I am very happy with my purchase. My only suggestion to Bhavish is that- Please make the spare-parts available to the general public, and let local mechanics handle it, just open one spare-parts shop in each of the city and stock the batteries too and your service woes would be solved faster.
Agar company ke after sale service department ke logo ne esa sane review kiya hota(in depth) & devlopment department ne isse ek after one year of launch face lift ke tor pe model upgrade kiya hota to aaj ye halat na hoti. It clearly shows, Ola ko devlopment ka experience hai hi nahi. Unone ek company ko uthaya aur mass production kar diya
I bought Ola S1 pro on August 2022...till now completed 27k Kms without any single problem and software issue... Gud decision ever made.. Running flawlessly without any issues

Just booked my s1 pro today at 1.4L and I was getting Rizta z 3.7kwh at 1.92. I can bear with service problems or get the problems solved from secondary market but definitely wont pay 52k extra for a scooter that is more stable and has less features. Just a katter of priorities
Very rightly said sir about the key issues. A KEY handle lock would have solved or at least eased the problem. And secondly, a nice service network support would have solved it further. I'm a Ola owner amongst the first ones in my city (Meerut, U.P.). Initially I got home service but after sometime just couldn't get anywhere evan after buying service package. Ola should train Ploytechnic Electronics Diploma students to repair their products and give contract to them to open ola service centers around the country, it is very easy to solve. But Mr agarwal has ego problem.
A simple solution. 1. Key 2. Screen, Non Touch. Display must be restricted to Battery percentage, No Bluetooth, Range in Eco and Normal upto 80kmph, Hyper speed not at all required because its for city commutation only. 3. Stop these speakers give a horn. 4. Battery cut off Switxh qhich doeant need any software.
I have Ola scooter 1.5 years more then 25 k on odometer.. No issues .. Technical glitches are due to improper reboot or no reboot after 100 percent charge.. It’s laggy and hangs a lot like old Micromax Mobiles .wait for some time and ur good to go.. Best feature keyless entry . I used to forget my keys of other scooter so many times Ola has simply solved that issue.. Im saddened about so many issues with other Ola .. Service centre issue is real .. Scooter seat was torn by dogs Service centre didn’t had seat replacement .. They wanted me to keep the bike for 15 days .. I got the seat replaced from local sofa shop.. That’ was the only hiccup

Though it's got less moving parts, but it has "software" which ICE scooters ain't got.
Their "jaldbaazi me fatafat launch kro" attitude must have left errors to be bypassed from the software developers and the senior managers must have passed the software with the bugs and errors to relieve the time pressure being put on them by their seniors.
I think ather did everything really well. They had a slow but steady pace, they ensured never to have any software glitches or battery hazards to bypass. Indeed, never heard of any complain from ather owners except the fact they are pricier than their competitors. I guess ather would also be able to sort that out too in future.

I also own OLA s1 pro and OLA scooter is trash. Boot is permanently locked because screen dosent work, GPS never worked from day one, rattling noise coming from everywhere, ghost touches starts on screen everytime, regen doesn't work after riding a few kilometres and app also doesn't work for opening boot (both on Android and ios). From more than a year I am running around ola service centers but staff only misbehaves and don't help with any problems.

Ola electric came to campus and hired girls instead of all the more technically aligned and high gpa guys for diversity reasons. I was one of those guys who did well in the interview but when the list of the candidates who got the job, it was surprisingly all girls. All the guys in the university were pissed and complaining to the placements center. But the placements center said they can't do anything because it was ola electric's decision to make.
From that day onwards, I wished the downfall of the company. And everytime I see a teary eyed/angry ola electric customer, I gives me that pleasure in my heart to see ola electric literally and figuratively burning.
At least ather had their interview process hard enough that after going through it, I myself felt that I was lacking as a candidate. And it was not the company's fault that I didn't get the job. Ather came in and took the best candidates possible. Ola came in and took diversity hires.

You are right D2C model of OLA is one of the major problems because at each service centre no body appears to be in charge or takes responsibility. The manager puts the onus on the technician and the technician expresses his helplessness about being overwhelmed and lack of available parts
Been an Ola S1 Pro user for over a year now with more then 14k Km clocked on the scooter.
I genuinely love the product they have offered in an competitive pricing.
The only problem i have complaints about are the service centre, there is no man power to handle all the scooters which are piling up day after day.
The quality of the parts being used are also sub-par compared to ICE scooters in that price range.
My scooter has been sitting in the service center for almost a month now concerning a Parking mode issue which i have noticed is not uncommon among other users.
Regardless i feel its a really fun scooter and daily commuter.
Hope Ola address the customer service issues and improve their parts quality.

I do own a ola s1 pro gen 2 and initially I faced similar probelms such as screen not working, screen flickering and not able to switch to drive mode. The solution is to restart the scooter and this solves all the problems. And after the latest update I don't face these issues anymore. One thing I noticed was whenever I faced these kind of issues most of the time I was near a high voltage power line or near the electrical control unit (In the parking) I guess this is because of some sort of electro magnetic fields which influence the computer of scooter again I'm not 100% sure this is what I observed. Another problem is with the service centers of ola I live in Lucknow and the condition of ola service centres is terrible here. Unless you have an ola subscription you need atleast 2 hours just for the technician to touch the scooter that to if you reserve your slot on prior basis.
I was about to buy ola scooter and thank god i bought bajaj chetak ev scooter which is far better with great build quality

Hey Prakash, great video! Just a quick heads-up-there’s a small mix-up in the details about the scooters. The numbers you mentioned are actually the peak power figures, not the battery capacity at 10:50. Ola has 11kW peak power and Ather has 6.4kW. The battery capacities are 4kWh for Ola and around 3.7kWh for Ather.
Also, the braking and suspension issue with Ola was fixed in the second-gen model but there are a lot of software and build quality issues with the scooters which Ola should improve ASAP and the service centres lack trained technical staff which is causing delays and dissatisfaction among customers.

People fall into the trap thinking that more technology/latest "smart" technology means "better" but real world has proven otherwise.
All these "smart" systems and electronics have the same problem - the added complexity means more points of failure, which causes more problems and they fail more, which the companies being inexperienced are unable to handle (older companies may fare better).
The products are themselves built with an assumption that "hey if any issue we can simply release a software update to fix everything". More often than not, that update breaks things further. 1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back.

I’m ather 450x user. Other than belt noise there is zero issue. Also I solve belt issue at my home just cleaning belt and applying silicone spray which is powermax spray. Range prediction is also nearly perfect. Overall good scooter❤
I also own an ola, and if there is any glitch in the MID you can always restart the scooter by long pressing reverse and power button. All problems related to the MID gets resolved through this. So itna bhi bhura nahi hai ola jitna log bolte hai.

R&D mein kami nahi hai kyunki R&D ki he nahi hai inhone seedha European company ko kharid ke unki same gaadi India utar di, rather ATHER researched for 5 years only on battery and motor then it took 5 more years for them to make 450s complete and i know the perfection of the vehicle and i am happy owner. Ola just focused on selling not on CRM because of which we see all this. But what hurts is Indians don't support companies like ATHER and ultraviolett who are working hard to minimize long term problems

Bhavish ji ne galti kar di tweet kar ke 😂 i own ather and main reason i opted for a costlier vehicle was reliability. You are correct, i face screen glitch 2-3 times in my 2 years of ownership but it didnt bother me because vehicle was perfectly running. It resolved everytime i restarted the vehicle. I faced issue with controller unit and belt but it was replaced under warranty by ather and vehicle was delivered at same day evening. Only when controller unit suddenly broke down, i had to call towing service to get the vehicle at my home and then later serivice center. I didnt opt for rsa so had to call for local service. I am not sure how good is ather rsa as i never used it.

My scooter is in the service centre for the last 21 days 😢😢 very bad service I was promised that I will get back my scooter before the puja but they lied. 😢 Very upsetting I would urge everyone not to buy this scooter very poor after sales service 😞 disappointing

pichle 2 saal se hur month serice centre le ja rha hun mai apna ola scooter apni holiday inke service center mai baith kr waste kr rha mai. inhone kya kiya juub inko lagne lga ye toh hur month aah rha toh apne data mai mera scooter 27k driven kr diya jubki mera scooter chla hai bus 9k. Ye isliye kiya ki mere warranty jaldi khatam ho jaye or ye 40k touch kr jaye taki service deny kr ske baad mai. I have all the proofs.
Consumer court me complaint kardo refund bhi milega scooty ka aur penalty or itne time me jo apka kharch hua bhi milega

Well well well, what a surprise. People buy new, untested products with no history in either manufacturing or automobile field and then cry when the product has issues. Even cars from Honda, Toyota have minor issues in the first gen models. Maybe speakers are more important than suspension.

@10:55 the battery spec are wrong, Ola has 4kWh and Ather 3.7kWh not 11 or 6.4.
I also own the Ola s1Pro Gen2 and touchwood never had any issues so far. It has one of the best seats on any scooters and the riding position is spot on. A few occasional software glitches do come up but they vanish once the scooter is rebooted by pressing the reverse and the the power button simultaneously for 10 seconds. Also it has one of the best center of gravity due to the floor battery placement, the cornering and maneuverability is amazing. I am very happy with my purchase. My only suggestion to Bhavish is that- Please make the spare-parts available to the general public, and let local mechanics handle it, just open one spare-parts shop in each of the city and stock the batteries too and your service woes would be solved faster.
Great video, after seeing my friend struggle with Ola ownership, I went in for river indie, 6 months since riding it and zero issues.
Agar company ke after sale service department ke logo ne esa sane review kiya hota(in depth) & devlopment department ne isse ek after one year of launch face lift ke tor pe model upgrade kiya hota to aaj ye halat na hoti.
It clearly shows, Ola ko devlopment ka experience hai hi nahi. Unone ek company ko uthaya aur mass production kar diya

Owner of Ola S1 Pro 2nd gen completed 11k kms No issues so far. Some minor screen Lags do come but gets resolved via Screen reset.

Just booked my s1 pro today at 1.4L and I was getting Rizta z 3.7kwh at 1.92. I can bear with service problems or get the problems solved from secondary market but definitely wont pay 52k extra for a scooter that is more stable and has less features. Just a katter of priorities
Very rightly said sir about the key issues. A KEY handle lock would have solved or at least eased the problem. And secondly, a nice service network support would have solved it further.
I'm a Ola owner amongst the first ones in my city (Meerut, U.P.). Initially I got home service but after sometime just couldn't get anywhere evan after buying service package.
Any suggestions for "KEY" problem ??
Ola should train Ploytechnic Electronics Diploma students to repair their products and give contract to them to open ola service centers around the country, it is very easy to solve. But Mr agarwal has ego problem.
A simple solution.
1. Key
2. Screen, Non Touch. Display must be restricted to Battery percentage, No Bluetooth, Range in Eco and Normal upto 80kmph, Hyper speed not at all required because its for city commutation only.
3. Stop these speakers give a horn.
4. Battery cut off Switxh qhich doeant need any software.

No issues ..
Technical glitches are due to improper reboot or no reboot after 100 percent charge..
It’s laggy and hangs a lot like old Micromax Mobiles .wait for some time and ur good to go..
Best feature keyless entry .
I used to forget my keys of other scooter so many times Ola has simply solved that issue..
Im saddened about so many issues with other Ola ..
Service centre issue is real ..
Scooter seat was torn by dogs
Service centre didn’t had seat replacement ..
They wanted me to keep the bike for 15 days ..
I got the seat replaced from local sofa shop..
That’ was the only hiccup
