40 साल पहले फिलिप्स के रेडियो और रिकॉर्ड प्लेयर बहुत अच्छे आते थे, इनके ट्रांजिस्टर भी बहुत अच्छे होते थे, पता नहीं इनके बंद होने की स्थिति क्यों आ गई है, फिलिप्स का led मैं 4 साल से use कर रहा हूं, अभी तक खराब नहीं हुआ, लोकल led तो 1 साल में खराब हो जाते हैं।
जो भी हो पर "फिलिप्स" से अपना भावनात्मक😍😊😥और पुराना नाता है ।
During 1970 to 1985 Philips radios manufactured in India were better in quality than that manufactured in Netherlands. Because Indian radios had silicon transistors made by BEL while European radios had ICs of Philips which failed miserably. After 1985 Philips introduced radios in India with the same ICs which destroyed it's reputation.
Philips will be a powerhouse in the healthcare domain . Mark my words ❤

Very sad and heart breaking. I worked in Philips India from 1973 to 2009, in New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, - for 36 years. Back in the 70s its Radio main sets and all types of transister radios sold like hot cakes. A very good organisation in all respects despite emerging competitions since 1986. I have bought many of its products for my use. I really worked happily in all my working years.

Finally all businesses in this world are for money for sure .but when business ignores it's loyal people ( customers , employees,stakeholders) for money then the bell starts ringing. Will hope for better.
Sony and Phillips most durable and trustworthy brands...sad to see Phillips downfall.
Please check more in detail. Cassette recorder, Color TV, Plasma TV..... A lot of PHILIPS inventions. PHILIPS is researching continuously, and going away from common markets but targeting critical equipments to manufacture along with research for Intellectual Property.
alike sarkar Philips company has shutdown manufacturing TVs and radios since 2013 every where in the world. This is TPV Taiwan having lease of Philips name for a few years. You cannot find Philips logo in Philips radio or TV today, but only in lights and other products that are genuinely Philips.
I start my career in Philips Lighting in 2006.
As a Company it's good for employee & no doubt about its product.

I still have Philips tv (1986) at my home, small in size, we are not using that but still kept at home as a memory of my mother.

I worked for Philips in Utrecht Netherlands. I used Philip's Powerhouse, World radio, Mixer, and of course light bulbs. There is a Light Tower in Utrecht where Philips tests their bulbs - burning them 24x7. They were too diversified...may be one reason for their downfall. They also manufactured private telephone exchanges, desktops, and had an IT company by the name Origin. Most of their products had boring design unlike Apple. My toaster went bad outside of warranty. They replaced my toaster at 20% lower price than the market. That was a nice gesture.
Philips was most affordable and reliable brand in its times.. We still have Philips TV razor tape recorder audio player DVD player and Food Processer..

हर एक कंपनी का एक समय होता है जब आरंभ होता है तो अंत भी होता है कोई उसी कंपनी को उठाने वाला होता है तो कोई उसी कंपनी पर सही तरीके से ध्यान ना देने पर गिराने वाला भी होता है
The main reason for their downfall is outsourcing to China, and after that losing their primary USP; quality and durability, for which people used to prefer Philips even though they were costlier than other brands.
In India Philips was a very trusted brand for the retail consumers, it was the 2nd best in TV and Music Systems after Sony, and absolute best in all appliances and lighting. But sometime in the early 2000 I guess they started outsourcing their manufacturing to China, and since then their product quality and durability went down the drain, and Philips lost their USP and brand value.
Lesson to learn from this; never compromise on quality and brand value for some quick bucks.
It has nthg to do with China in technology innovation is required and their prices were high compared to other products even today their led light price is more compared to local brands so nothing China thing applicable
If you see today products you need constant change and design and new technology see mi growth in india bec they hv good innovation skills and most of companies outsource from China bec of bulk production less price and bec other vendor also make in China they get idea of what’s new in market
This must be true as I have been a loyal Philips customer for years and I have experienced a great decline in the quality of its products and even it's after sales service

Philips was going on very well till 1988, when in its history in India, it nose dived in loss and in red. But within a year there were great efforts and there was a turn around successfully, by its then MD Mr. Bergvelt. And from then on cost control measures have started coming in and the assets one by one were getting sold and outsourced.

Yes we purchased in 2007 n it worked till November 2022 due to lightning in monsoon, now we have purchased new led tv otherwise we would not purchase new tv becoz Philips tv was working fine.

Syed Hashmi Yes, but not in electronic goods quality-wise for last 35 or 40 years. So it sold its electronic business. It's DVDs are lying with people defunct, it's TVs were durable but much less in quality than Korean and Japanese companies. Its radios lost its previous quality, because it failed in IC manufacturing.
Same here...CRT 15 years kettle 12 years tape recorder 30 years food processor 15 years Steam Iron 20 years trimmer 6 years... Still working without any issues
I am using Philips led tv from last 9 years and in that time 2 Sony TV went to scrap.
I am fond of Philips products, i have used about 10 philips music systems and radio , two in one, but i m sorry to say the old models which were very nice and popular, stopped to manufacture

96 percent stake held by parent company in Philips India ltd. Company started disposal of assets since 2009 , still company declares good dividend.
Reason is simple Philips treated it's distributors as a trash forcing them to buy products that didn't have much demand and supplying less the demand able products, also takes too much time for breakage/damaged goods

Yes, Philips could not compete with Korean companies. Philips mobile phone market was never good.But today the situation is such that even condition of Sony is equally bad..But once upon a time Philips produced very good quality radio, sound system, tape recorder in India from Indian factories, and they were also very good for service support..
Subhash Das But Sony is maintaining its quality in electronics even today. Its ICs are the best. In contrast, Philips TEA ICs failed miserably with a lot of noise. Today's Philips radios are made by TPV Taiwan with Chinese IC. Philips failed in Radio, TV and DVD. It failed in IC manufacturing and sold its electronic business. As for Sony, it produces world's best radios and TVs even today. However, it couldn't compete with Samsung and LG in price front, not in quality. Both Samsung and LG manufactured almost same video quality TVs as Sony with less cost. But they failed to come near to Sony in audio quality.
Sony has the premium market captured.
Also, the sony company is in a good state with Sony movie studio and Sony music making good money, also sony Playstation is a good position in the market

मेरे पिताजी ने 14 से 15 रेडियो यूज किये थे रेडियो के ज़माने में , वो सारे ही फिलिप्स के थे और जो अभी घर पे हैं वो एकदम काम कर रहें हैं, no dought कि फिलिप्स एक विश्वास भरा सबसे बड़ा ब्रांड रहा है , और हमने फिलिप्स के न जाने कितने प्रोडक्ट यूज किये हैं आज तक सभी ए वन रहे और आज भी चल रहे हैं, नाम सुनते ही घर का सदस्य लगता है फिलिप्स

My dad bought a philips tape recorder in 1991...it still works perfectly... Then in 2009 I bought philips CD and tape player.. It developed problems in 2012..then got it repaired at philips service center and got same problem within 6 months.. Tape head problems and CD lens problem... Finally sold as a thrash...

Unke sleep apne machine ka mass scale recall is the reason why Philips healthcare business is struggling. But they will be back and they are already undergoing big structural changes in the org. As for Versuni, uska future bhi safe hai...koi downfall na hai. India mein unhone Preethi ko acquire kar rakha hai and Preethi South India mein bohut strong hai. Taqleef mein hai abhi but koi downfall na hai.

My father had purchased the Philips CRT tv in 2007, my late sister was a big cricket fan and in 2007 cricket worldcup our old BPL tv stopped working and for my sister'sdemand, Daddy purchased this Philips tv and it worked till 2022 November and stopped working in 20222due to lightning in monsoon, now we have sold it in scrap but it worked perfectly since 2007 to 2022 and it was good in picture quality and sound but now we finally lost our TV, sister left this world in 2018 and now her TV also..😕

It's not a true analysis. It's called a market strategy. The founder of famous SONY started his company after seeing Philips. Every electronic s equipment must have more than one component made by Philips. Philips is an innovation company and many many new innovations and technologies have been developed by it. I still remember, when I bought my first mobile I preferred Nokia over Philips only due to the reason that Philips Mobile was a touch coloured mobile with stylus costing 12,509/ in 2003 where as Nokia famous butterfly pad monochrome model costs 6000/- .
Even now most of the Philips products are way ahead of it's time making those to adapt very difficult. We now have smartphone with stylus now but think the same product 20 years back.I being a techie avoided to have that for being too advance. Compact Cassette was invented by Philips, CD with Sony and DVD with others.In Shaveving equipments it's still a leader household and other domestic equipments it's outsourcrs manufacturing to reduce costs. Philips have many parents under it's name so question of bankruotcy doesn't arises. It has sold it's E-ink business about 20 years back when the concept of ebooks were not even heard in India. It sold it's premium brand Marantz in 1993and sold it's sub brand Grunding in 1996(if I am not wrong).
Now it's marketing Fidelio and other premium brands in Audio besideds Mc Lauraen audio products. It's a Giant with many hidden moves.
