Thanks for the play through, I enjoy THPS2 the most, I miss having the kind of unrealistic skate games like THPS where it's a point based game compared to Skate and Skater XL where the emphasis is on the tricks.
Thanks for the gameplay! Last year, I bought another 360, 'cause my old one died, just to play old Tony Hawk games. I also almost got an original Xbox for THPS2x 'cause my 360 is from Australia and it wouldn't work
34:16 That's why I always take the time to remap all their specials to either up-down or down-up, so I can pull them off easily with the analog. I only really switch to the d-pad when I gotta line up a jump or something. One other upside of remapping the pro's specials is that I get to see what they are, a flip, grab, grind, or manual.
Glad you're back mate, I started skating because of this game as well - shout out to all the heads who clocked this game in one night for entertainment once they'd played it enough! If you want to clock the high score first time make use of the manual function.
I'd love if you would upload this exact same footage, just without the added music and commentary. just to document this game since there seems to be not a single good playthrough of this game on youtube. But watching this was fun nonetheless
Ok, I swear I didn't know the song "Superman" until this year, but the 8-bit version of it in the background is making the nostalgia part of my brain go crazy.
The sweet irony- talking about hardflips, playing as Koston. Totally feel you on that cash icon above the statue, gotta be frame-perfect on that one. Really entertaining playthrough, you smashed it!
Nice! I love me some hour long chill videos! I like the fact that you're having fun instead of trying something just for the sake of it being an horrible skate game or something.
Awesome you considering doing more gameplay videos of you playing skate games and talking about random stuff. This is one of these rare channels that gives that "authentic" feel of .. something. Accursed Farms: old pc games, avgn (horror) movies and retro games, your channel does that for skating (games). Hope you're doing well.
Yeah the PS2 I remember like GTA3 was really hard to get for a while. I personally had one pre-ordered months in advance, it was wild back then they were like "The PS2 will replace your home computer with internet etc" and it only half ever got that far, but it was just the most mind boggling thing at the time you could watch DVD movies on the same thing you'd be playing the next installment in the Final Fantasy series on (eventually it became Final Fantasy X).
THPS2 is a masterpiece. It took all the good things about the original and then improved it in every way imaginable, including adding a currency feature which I think improves all games.
Dude I so hope you do more videos like this I absolutely love a man I'd be so cool if you had your own little let's play type of videos on your Channel or even if you had to I like a secondary Channel keep up the great work my dude
I picked this game up earlier this year because I hadn't played the 2x version. It's nice to play it on the Xbox 360 compared to the original Xbox, since it had the left and right bumbers instead of the white and black buttons. It's also nice on the 360 because I have the HD component cables on it. I'd say THPS2x and THUG1 are my favorite two Tony Hawk games.
Dude I spent so much time of my life on this game and learned kick flips (fakie easier?) And heels in real life plus shoves n shit . Stopped skating due to time and work but I love this vid and you have my respect for coming back bigger and better. KUDOS . Regards the Dime.
I understand how you keep saying it’s hard to do all goals in 1 run, but i like it like that makes you really replay and enjoy the game, and it makes you finishing the game longer than just being able to finish as fast as possible
I feel like i totally would have had this game as a kid if it came out on ps2. Playing it as an adult on xbox(360) was definitely a different experience
Bro you should totally do a 100% run of Tony hawk 3 on the PS1. It's the version I grew up playing and Id love to see you play it through. Awesome video.
Wow... You know what that's a great strategy I've been playing Tony Hawk games for years and I never actually thought of starting off like that as a serious strategy
Dude the way you landed that half pipe to rail on the first try in hangar, I struggle with that sometimes! Good stuff. Sorry about those comments though
I was actually playing this a few days ago on my Xbox but you have more patience than I do. I quit after Marseilles because of the D Pad eating inputs, I noticed you mention it and its clearly a problem for you too. Its so bad I had multiple occasions where pressing Up Down Y would result in me landing on the ledge/floor in a manual instead of grinding in special. You can land in a special, do a transfer to another rail and the game will refuse to do a special again. It's really frustrating because I know I'm inputting the right combination, the game just refuses to acknowledge it.
Your my hero man.im getting this ive been playing my regular Xbox.YOUR RAD BRO.yeah man the Xbox is my fav system right now,I gotta wireless controller.im with ya burnt out on negative people there seems to be more and more lately.
It's time we made a club Rad Rat. One that consists of punk rock freestyle skateboarders. Going against the style of the skateboard industry!! Andy Anderson and Mike Vallely have already begun leading the way! They'll need our help! We can't depend on Mullen. Though he's the greatest freestyler, the dude is kind of a sell out when it comes to his thuggish ruggish friends. He ain't even trying to stir shit up. This is our time! Our time down here! Hey! Hope to see you stream soon :) im sorry for the hateful comments that threaten you btw thats some bs, stay strong and keep your amazing work up, I always feel like i learn something from watching your vids!
I always fill up my ollie, air, hangtime, and speed stats immediately after Marseille in preparation for the statue cash and the banks fence cash in NYC
Another option for streaming would be using hooking up your phone to your PC. Not sure about Apple but on Android there is an app that is on both android and windows that will use your phone mic on your PC. I'm more than happy to talk you through using it if getting a regular mic takes a while and you want to stream. I have used it in the past and it is actually surprisingly good.
I dont know about anyone else but I would love if you did more skate games. TH games (most of them) even 100%ing multiple or all characters to unlock things.
You could do Footage Analysis during streams, like watching old skate videos and kinda looking at certain parts to show why something during the clip is a huge deal.
Hey, if you need a cheap USB mic for streaming and such, I'd suggest the Blue Snowball, I have it and use it for streaming recording, discord calls etc. It's like 60-80$ I believe it was. But honestly I think it's worth it
@@floatingfish9794 did you watch the video? He said to stream he needs a USB mic he can't use his current for streaming cause it's a camera mic. I was giving him a recommendation of a USB mic
Great video, but "who does lip tricks?" My entire strategy in 2-UG2 was just use lip tricks for high score tasks, as you can get max score just standing still without worry of slow speed manuals or not having anything to trick on.
Sounds like you may have some trace corrosion in your Xbox. I had to jump one of mine with a wire. Many Xboxes have a capacitor that goes bad and leaks fluid onto the board, causing corrosion. And the traces for the power get very close to it.
I know this is nitpicky, but I've always had an issue with THPS2X because of the board graphics. For some reason, anytime a the board does a 180 during a flip trick, the board art flips back to the "correct" orientation as soon as the animation is completed

Speaking of nostalgic games, you should definitely check out the Street Unicycling game I'm working on "Street Uni X", I'll upload a recent video of the gameplay to my channel so you can check it out here if you're into it. It's not skateboarding but it's directly inspired by THPS2 in terms of PS1 aesthetic and game mechanics. It might also open your eyes to the world of Street / Urban Trials Unicycling
