Something that's helped my climbing a lot is realizing that holding static positions on the wall is not just about the your absolute strength but also about the technical ability to apply that strength. The big eye opener is that its not just movement that is technical but also static positions. For example you might have the strength to hold that back-flag but your body doesn't know which muscles need to be tight and which need to be loose, how to connect your hand to your foot through tension through the body, how to exert with your wrist in that angle, etc. and if you're always training strength in the same ROM, same body position, same wrist angle, etc. (like when you do off the ground lifts for example) then you get stronger but your body doesn't learn the technical side of applying that strength. Which is all to say that static climbing is an awesome stimulus!
Totally agree! Something that I realized as well. People don't understand the difference between concentric power and how strength is actually applied in climbing!
Recently encountered the same kind of "match" move you are talking about in the end, where a simple backflag just doesn't cut it. I was lucky enough to have footage of the setter I could analyze slowed down as well. The mental queues I took away that helped me with it were: 1) place your foot almost perpendicular to the wall (heel facing away from the wall somewhere between 70-90° angle) this gives u a bit more room to generate momentum into the wall 2) really think about flicking your crotch and left side of your hip into the wall your backflagging foot can come out of the wall but shouldnt be straight for this 3) get a feel for synchronizing pulling into the wall with the hip flick, similiar to timing the leg flick of the pogo with jumping and pulling this will just click at some point of time I hope at least one of these might prove helpful it took me 3 separate hard cruxes to really nail this down for my level, I'm sure with your ability to learn movements fast you'll master it in no time :)
Thanks for the advice and encouragement! It’s definitely a coordination thing that I just need to get down! And thanks I really enjoy doing the colours!
the thing is, transitioning from a teenage-jumping around-party trick-cool stuff doing to an adult athlete - long run oriented mindset. Sounds like you’re slowly but finally getting on the right track, imao 👊🏽
Im in similar position where my explosiveness on the wall is good, but my power endurance is significantly weaker. 😔Cool to know that my idle is working on it too 😅😅😅💪💪💪🗣🗣🗣
I've considered switching fully but we don't have the best facilities for it here in montreal and it would hurt the channel and instagram. I've only done it once and my pr was 12.578s.
That winter 50º kilter grind hits so different. Doin that same thing as well
Yes can't wait to get to 50

Also, appreciate the amazing color grading and looks of the video as always, but better comment on it I guess ;)

Nice video as usual dude, next provincials will go hard. (Also hi to the guy at 13min53sec)
Thanks 😊. Glad you enjoyed!
awesome vid loi :D
Thanks bro :)) glad you enjoyed!
Will there also be a video about the opening comp at Rose Bloc 2? Would love that
Probably not. I didn't get any vlog footage and like I was saying I am pretty over it. It would just be a lot of complaining lol.

Well tbh I was super locked in 2 years ago. Just different goals for different times.
im in the exact same boat bro. I am a lot better than 2 years ago but myself 2 years ago was twice as intense as myself now
Gotta lock in
hey what monitor do you use? I saw u filming in the nationals. and saw this big old monitor on your camera :) Super nice and qualitative video!!!
Thanks! Nothing special, it's a feelworld f5
Are the chapters made for another video? Them seem to be similar to the 7 bays/allez up grades
If you refresh they should all be updated to match the kilter stuff! Or might be your browser!

Totally something I let slip too far!
Come train with me in Quebec;)
One day 🥺
Ok I am coming trust
What camera do you use to record?
A7i4 + Sony Zeiss 16-35mm f4
Have you tried speed climbing? You'd crush

Some of the recent Rage clips on insta have gotten me psyyyched!!
Thanks!! It’s been a grind
