It’s completely impractical, but it would be really cool if drop banks could lower out of the way or be like classic sterns and have knockdown coils to drop every drop as a part of ball search, reset the bank, and then drop the ones that were down at the start of ball search. If somebody does Rube Goldberg: The Pinball I fully expect that to be in there.
Hi Steve, lots of little details and adjustments to make everything work like clockwork. It changes everything for the pleasure of playing. I am myself making these small adjustments as well as programming... It's strange to be so close to the goal after all this time and to "almost" no longer need to dust... Hahaha, seriously, the number of times I've told my wife "don't worry, I'm about to get everything cleaned up and put away and then I can move it out of your fancy front room" 😅😂
On the stair plastic maybe just make the posts taller with stand offs. Then the drop target will have room to move the ball when it ball searches. Plastic can still prevent crazy air balls but won’t jam the drop target.

Learned through testing that when my drop targets are down, the ball can actually get shot through the wall behind and into the machine lol
Can you shape the stair drop-target so the top has a wedge shape
One that slightly directs the ball back onto the first stair when it tries to rise
I thought about that, but wanted to try to close the main gap first, if this doesn’t work, I may try shaping the top of the drop target
