    Always enjoy watching your videos, and how each homebrewer takes different methods to achieve the same, or similar objectives. I started with a similar small amazon screen, then moved it to the top to become my translite, with a motion feel, rather than a static pocture like i did on my first one. Then i bought a 27" to become my main display at the bottom, thus revesing the standard backbox. My speakers are also moved up high now, and itll allow dual screens, both with seperate info going at all times.
    Btw, your build is no less impressive than saw, motorhead, or friday the 13th. The time, money, work, and vision that goes into a homebrew earns you that equality, and they had a team vs guys like us doing a solo project. Your build is fantastic, and its yours.

    Nice beard!
    The reason for the foam covers on the grilles for the speakers just keep the dust out; they don't impede audio much but it's a personal preference. But the new screen looks great and is a tight fit with the custom print. Good work. But yes! Everything custom.

    LOL. Funny, that's the type of external display I bought for my project. Only issue I found when putting it in the Stern part is the power switch will foul on the mount and as you said the USB-C is also not accessible without some shaving with a Dremel.

      Haha, wait which one did you order? The first one I ordered or the newer one? Hope it's working good for you!

      The first LCD display with the larger bezel, I did end up trying that and it then just had too big of a bezel on the top, and with the lock above the screen I couldn't raise it up to compensate - but the newer display is working great!

    Glad to see new videos again! I'm building a Zack Snyder's Justice League homebrew and have been debating which monitor to buy. What are your thoughts on this new Amazon monitor compared to Stern Spike 2 monitor? Any issue with brightness? Also, a 3D printed bracket isn't needed for the bottom of the monitor? Thanks for all the supporting documents, they have helped tremendously in my build.

      No supporting bracket needed at the bottom as the Stern bezel is slightly angled. The brightness of this screen is equal to the other display I had and seems on par with the Stern Spike displays

    Steve did you learn 3d printing just through this pinball project because if you did that's highly impressive. Also seeing I think you should have measured the screen before you bought it ha ha.
    Anyway it was really satisfying at the end to see everything fit so cleanly and i really like the look of the speakers through the grills. I think it would look really cool to have some kind of image maybe your logo in luminous paint onto each speaker grill or maybe you could put lighting in there.

      Yeah never tried 3D printing until this project, one of my favorite parts of all of this is designing new parts to print 😃😍

      @@alexhetherington8028 staircase will never be metal - right ramp will be metal and left ramp will likely be 3d printed metal

    How did you code the software to drive the display? Are there dev tools for creating the display programming?

    • @thepinballroom
      @thepinballroom  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm using an open source platform called Mission Pinball Framework (MPF). It does all the heavy lifting and all I have to do is tell it what size display etc and then I configure "slides" that the software renders on the display
