Which book will win the Women's Prize for Fiction 2024? My thoughts.

On Thursday we will find out which book has won the women's Prize for Fiction. This year, sadly, I don't think my overall favourite will win - but I can live in hope and keep my fingers and toes crossed.

Agree with you about Soldier Sailor. Wonderful book. And about the 2 you think will win.
Soldier Sailor has my heart
I have the same opinions as you do about what will win and what I hope will win.
I could never forget the visceral feeling I had while reading Sokdier Sailor
It made me remember my first weeks as a new mum all those years ago.
I’m pulling for Brotherless Night, but I would be happy with Enter Ghost, Soldier Sailor, or River East, River West winning.
I think it will be that one or Enter Ghost - but would love Soldier Sailor to win
I also hope Soldier Sailor wins. I have two young boys (one still a toddler) so that book really got me. I don’t see it beating Enter Ghost though, which is fine. While it didn’t have the same emotional impact on me as Soldier Sailor, it was still a great read
I agree - it has my vote but think it will be Enter Ghost or Brotherless Night that takes the prize
I suspect Enter Ghost will win, but I won't be surprised if the WP judges choose Soldier Sailor. I was deeply moved by Brotherless Night, but I don't think it will be the WP's pick to win (it did, however, win the Carol Shields Prize, deservedly, and VV Ganeshananthan was therefor awarded $150,000. Huzzah!).
Great to hear your thoughts on the shortlisted nominees. Not long now until we discover the winner.
