Can you talk about relationships in Med school. At what point will you be able to live together during clinicals or residency? How has it been dealing with the distance on the island? How often are you guys able to see each other? Thanks!
Thanks! As of now, there are no rotations in Texas, however you can potentially do some electives rotations there during 4th year if you can get them scheduled through whichever hospital you are considering.
Hello. I know this is an older video, but I was wondering about clinical placement. When you put your request for the state in term 5, are you automatically told your specific hospital placement, or do you have to get your score back for STEP first? Thanks! Love the channel.
How specific can you be in your request.... You say you can only request the State, not clinical centers? My wife is in her first year with SGU and doing great even though its all online :)
So you can mention specific hospitals, but they will only place you by state. Once clinical start, however, you have the opportunity to request a different location! Hope this helps!
Hi Cody, I'm interviewing at sgu on Monday. How do u study during the clinical rotations for the exams they give at the end of the rotation? Can I do all the clinical rotations in Florida? Do they require any exams to clear you for step 2? Or just passing step 1, is good enough to get cleared to proceed to take step 2? Sorry about so many questions. God bless !
Hello Cody! I'm a term 2 student at SGU and I'm from Houston, Texas. Will I be able to choose any clinical spot or do you have to go to the hospitals in the states that are closest to you? My concern is that is it possible to do most if not all of your core rotations in one state and then do elective rotations elsewhere. Please let me know. Thank you.
You'll be able to choose your top 3 states from the list they provide to you. And yes you'll be able to do your core in one place and electives elsewhere.

I gotcha!
Great Video!!!!
Thank you!
Hey, thanks for the Informative video! Does SGU have clinical rotations in Texas? If not, is there a way to do rotations there? Thanks.

Hey, you aren't told until a little bit after you get the initial location, however, this might have changed since I left!
Hey Cody! How many credit hours can you fail at SGU before you’re dismissed?
lol I'm not sure, wasn't checking for those stats
Hey can you go over how did sgu prepare you for step 1?
I got ya!
Also this may sound like a silly question, but were you more comfortable studying for the mcat or step 1?

Bavly Abdelmesih Step 1 Bc I knew how to study for it. Step 1 is like 100x more intense than the MCAT though.

@@doctorchill_ thanks a lot that helps a lot :) we’re proof that you can be married during SGU and only one spouse doing the Program

Cody, what were the states that they gave you options for? Was California one of them?
Yes, california was an option. I have the link in the description of the video of the states that you can choose from
Did SGU prepare you for Step 1 sufficiently? How do you feel you did
They prepared me pretty well I'd say. I got a pretty competitive score, so I'm satisfied!
How are classes going. Are you doing the match this year?
I've graduated and Ive matched

You can live wherever you choose!
Do they have texas locations?
No, not at the moment.
Cody - do you take out regular school loans in order to pay for housing during years 3 and 4?
Yeap!
