You're going to blow up on TH-cam and I'll be able to say I was here before the majority. Excellent video! Keep uploading - you have a good camera and nice editing matched with a good personality. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
So in one year(ish) ago you made your first yt vid and now youre like... among the top videos whenever I search for med school advice...thats crazy, go you.
Great video Zach, lol @anki crashing, tech always crashes when you need it most. Really enjoy the b roll and graphics. Lol shorts and a white coat would be pretty funny to see.
I like my MDF stethoscope because it's got the diaphragm on one side and the bell on the other so you don't have to worry about how hard to press. Also being a heart and vascular nurse for two years I've only used the bell to listen for bruits
@@ZachHighley it is cool, the people are really what make the job, our surgeons are insanely busy and they still remembered my name the first time I told them and are open to teaching me and don't get upset when I ask them questions, it's hard to find
@@ZachHighley And i'm sorry for coming off salty or rude in my comments, I've just had poor experiences with med students and residents I've come across in person, your videos are very well made, you must have great time management for doing this and being in school.

This is going to be my first comment ever on TH-cam and it's going to be on this video. Great content and I'm glad I stumbled on your channel by accident when searching up how to use Anki (I had Anki for a while but only used it inconsistently because it seems to be inconvenient for me at first). Your passion for Anki is incredible so I am going to give it another try by actually diving deeper into its features. What has inspired you to start a TH-cam channel on top of all your work?
really liked your video ... ❤️ i want to be a doctor too and I'm studing for a huge exam we call "konkoor" in iran ... its about 2 weeks later ... wish me luck and post more videos like this ...
What about paper flashcards of this first aid material and others? Is it possible to find? I've tried Anki, but I get really tired of it. I prefer paper. So much faster to use, I think.
damn, med school is easier in US, I am in Physiotherapy college in Medical College (in India Physiotherapists go through pre, para and clinical subjects of medical college and training before clinical Physiotherapy) and I didn't have time for preparing notes. I had to get notes for Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Patho, Microbio, Pharma, Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Paedia, Ortho, Neuro, psychiatry and Radiology.
Ha pre-med student hear working towards med school I have Bose Headphones as well and the annoying roommate I got here in under grad still finds a way to break through 😂
Glad you liked it! As for the tags I'm actually not sure - I tried to figure it out and it seems, with the update, they are not there anymore. The only workaround I found is you can hit edit on the card and see the tags :/ But sorry I realize that wasn't the answer you were looking for.
Do you think I’d get by fine with just a MacBook or do you feel like the iPad has been extremely useful and recommend it in combination with the MacBook?
I would say, personally, the MacBook would be fine. The iPad is nice for writing notes on powerpoints with the Apple Pencil, but I use my MacBook 90% of the time.
@@drei000 Hey, unfortunately, I am definitely not qualified to be teaching you that at this point, if you are going to some sort of healthcare school I'm sure they will teach you! something about lub-dub haha But in all sincerity specific to this stethoscope push hard for lower frequency sounds (like heart sounds), and press lightly for higher frequency sounds (like lung sounds).

Diaphragm is for low frequency sounds the bell is for a high frequency sounds
Hmmm I should see if there’s an update on here for supplies!
I definitely laughed too hard at the Meth is bad Kids :D
ok I need that back ground you have
you don't need a reflex hammer to stimulate reflexes, you can definitely use your hands if you know what you're doing
I saw my professors using the side of the stethoscope for testing reflexes. That could be helpful
That pen torch is so bright, there's a reason the crappy plastic ones are crappy...
