Creative criticism is necessary so proper content can get promoted, No doubt Nooran’s writing had flaws, but that doesn’t mean to degrade her in an interview… One must know how to value the difference of ideas and opinions n yet scrutinize them constructively…Nooran at the end of day was the writer to the massively popular #TereBin so applause to her but hopefully she learns n focuses more to improve her upcoming content be it Season 2 or any other venture… I may not be the target audience to her other projects but #TereBin did bring in viewers so her story along with #WahajAli and Yumna created some of sizzling shorts directed by SerajulHaq which will be cherished for years to come…

Drama was hit because of writer too the way she wrote the character Murtasim captured our heart and all those romantic scenes which enhanced the drama and of course the chemistry created by yumhaj. So lets give equal credit to all of them. Yes there were some mistakes too but overall we enjoyed the journey. Hoping best for #TereBin2.

Let’s be kind to the guest even if we disagree with them. It was brave of Nooran to show up for this interview. Aamna asked all her questions with a lot of respect and grace and Nooran answered sportingly. The story has flaws for sure but no one till date wrote this sort of romantic fantasy like her before. The romance is what drew people in and let’s give her the credit she deserves. She’s young and says she takes note of audience feedback and will course correct in future scripts. That’s all any of us can do in life, learn from our mistakes and do better next time. I liked her personality :). Nooran, keep going, keep learning and improving, keep giving us romance that makes our hearts flutter❤

Lets be honest people, the reason this drama was a hit was because of the romantic scenes. As a society we are deeply deprieved of seeing and experiencing romance. And Nooran wrote all that romance so lets give her credit for it. Lets also appreciate her for writing a postive character like Murtasim who despite being a rich privileged man still wasnt your typical dominant aggressive husband which I feel most similar characters are portrayed as. We fell in love with Murtasim because he was a perfect man, kind, fair and no anger issues. I wish more writers start to write positive male characters and more romance instead of the garbage we usually get with the typical saas bahu drama, cheating husband or the dominating aggressive husband.

Whole highlighting male character in positive & modern outlook, she totally degraded woman character. Roming around in the late hours is not done in any respectable family. Then to repair the fault. The character of bus conducter, was introduced in every nook of corner, which was absurd. Instead she should have shown Change in Meerab' attitude. Also the main culprit Haya was given undue importance. She should have been lashed by Marium thus saving her brother' s marriage.

    1. Her forte seems to be romantic scenes but stringing together a coherent story along with that romance->she still lacks that expertise. (If that is fixed there's so much more potential)
    2. She's heavily obsessed/influenced with Ekta Kapoor's modus operandi, specifically- making negative characters infallible and stretching their plots like chewing gum. Her mention of komolika confirms it.(if you are reading this, please don't go that rabbit hole, your audience will thank you for that)

She needs to acknowledge the fact that a script like this would have worked in the bygone era. The "original" twist was also done by Rhett Butler in Gone With the Wind and we still call it one of the most popular romances. But it doesn't mean that it needs to be equally accepted in a modern show.
"Murtasim is only human" is not a good enough excuse. Many fans used to look up to this character as an ideal romantic hero and this kind of a twisted twist did end up messing with their mental health.

It's the problem of fan not the writer, actor actress or the team. Abdullah kadwani also said fan forgot murtasim is human being, to err is human. But they believe Murtasim is an angel living in other planet. That's why so much issue.

    • @mythologicalmainstay5029

@@farhanasonyahossain8720The issue is not that. People look to these larger than life shows to transport them to another reality full of romance and fairytales. The fact they projected it as a show of great production value drenched in romance that’s the issue. If they had shown it as a social drama people would have not been this traumatized. And if it were to be taken as such they should have addressed many issues which were just brushed under the carpet and Murtasim should not have gotten Meerab in the end.
If MR was retained, it would propagate the wrong message to young men that they need not wait for consent and can force themselves on their partners if they are romantic in general and apologise for their actions later. Worse the women will even forgive them.
Even whole team dubbed Murtasim to be non-toxic. He assaults her and was willing to marry the woman who did nothing but to ruin his relationship with his wife. He is toxic but he is also an idiot.

It was a nice interview! One good thing about Nooran is that she is open to receiving feedback. Next season, I am hoping she takes the feedback and gives us a better story with less loopholes. I totally agree that Tere Bin isn't the only show to have the flaws. But because of it's popularity, it got love and criticism. All I am hoping for next season is give me a love story. Do not make it one sided till the end when you promise a love story. No more slaps from the female or male character. More communication and of course the most important thing romance! All said and done, Tere Bin has been a good show with it's flaws. There were some really good things to appreciate about the show.
-I liked that Murtasim wasn't the typical toxic and problematic hero. He slaps but he apologises and never repeats it. This is progress and realisitc. It's not to normalise violence. He was very respectful to the women in his family. Even if he didn't agree with Meerab on many occasions, he defended and did things on her insistence. Haya was a nuisance but he never crossed the line with her. He was respectful with his mother and balanced things with between mother and wife. As a hero, he wasn't one of those who had a problem saying sorry, thank and please. He was forgiving by nature.
-Meerab was a girl who fought for her freedom. She was extremely stubborn which became annyoing after a point. But we saw a girl who had this attitude of not being a sacrificing person. It's a rare thing. Definitely deserved a better journey where she would've understood that she can be herself and find her space in this new world. No one was bad. It was her prejudices which needed to change over time with her experiences and learnings.
-We saw a mother-in-law that liked seeing her son and daughter in law happy. Her only concern was that. She never plotted against her bahu.
-Romance was the best thing about Tere Bin and we deserved more. In pakistani dramas, this is the first drama to show this kind of romance and it deserves the hype for this simple reason. Why is there a lack of romance? Love is beautiful and it should be celebrated. I just wish we see more romance which included Meerab's side too. Hopefully next season.
In tere bin 2 I was hoping we would have the same characters but we start their story in a different setting. I think we deserve it. But lets what is planned. I think Nooran will deliver better and she has learnt from the mistakes.
I just wish people would be sensitive and not be rude to her when pointing out flaws and constructive critism. It's so sad to see people say things like "I wish she never holds a pen again" and all. It's really sad. Don't forget to be a human. It's okay she has made mistakes which she is not going to repeat again.
Nooran gave really good answers. She is prepared with her answers because she knows her story and her intent.

The same people who have made such a hue and cry out of the scene where Murtasim slaps Meerub, would have called him namard if he had just walked out. The thing is nothing satisfies us as viewers.

On the other hand I would argue that the act of slapping is not only an assault which is punishable but is also an act of cowardice and bullying! Mind you we are not condoning Meerub’s spitting and slapping either. As for marital rape the writer really needs to live in the present century rather than in the Stone Age!

I hope everyone including the cast and crew and production just reads and proof reads the script before shooting for S2. It’s going to be the most awaited sequel in the history of Pakistani tv and the world is going to be watching. And for stupid plot lines there should be a writing team to vet ideas.

Great interview. Nooran ji did a good job answering any questions that you had and because she wasn’t defensive about her characters, it made for a pleasant listen. Maybe the drama wasn’t story wise the best out there but we all enjoyed it and the views are a testament to it. Success is always a team effort and I wish her the best of luck.

Poor woman!! Domestic violence must be normalised in her family so she doesn’t think it’s anything wrong. I can not even imagine this kind of upbringing. So sad for her and women like her who don’t even know that they are being abused and they’ve internalised it

    • @BK-ii6kb

Beautifully expressed reason for why it all feels wrong and psychologically uncomfortable in the name of romance. Poor woman indeed. Bigger problem is that evidently we have a society full of such women who have lapped up this nonsense.

@@Sidra3567 no one is saying she went through it but the casual way she’s defending it like aisa reaction to hota hai, tells that she’s seen this being normalised in her surroundings. That’s why I said poor woman doesn’t know any better. It’s her upbringing that’s making her write and DEFEND such behaviour

This is what SH is essentially about. Now that the creators have the feedback & criticism from the audience & your platform, I'm hopeful we'll see more responsible projects.
I'm not sure if it was Ashfaq Ahmed who said this but to quote "Kuch log likh rahe hain halanke unko parhna chahye"
(This isn't directed towards 1 writer but our writers in general)
Looking forward to better content in Pak. Haven't watched anything post Parizad. Will tune into Green's content.

You just can't hold the writer responsible for the MR if it did happen. The actors are equally responsible. Wahaj and Yumna should have denied this. No one asked them at a gun point to enact this scene. There are actors who have disagreed upon such subjects at script level.
So STOP blaming Nooran alone. The actors and director are equally responsible for the MESS created post episode 46.

She comes from a feudal background so a lot of her writing depicts that life ….. she will not understand the response. However I think she is good at firstly giving her view point ( incorrect as it maybe ) but at the same time admits that she will respect peoples feelings

I think she really needs to read Jane Austin before writing season 2. She will learn how romance can be written with strong characters; how can she show their vulnerability under their toughness. How a man in love can protect his strong headed girl in any circumstances.

Hats off to Amna for this interview.
Nooran said that she was praised before episode 45, I think she is dreaming. Ppl started to criticise her long before that.
She is always right... keep it up
Yumna & Wahaj are professional, they hav their own reasons for not acknowledging her. I am pretty sure they know that at least 90% of their fans are not happy with the illogical script. She will never mention this if she knows what was going on in social media ...
Thank you for this interview. Will never watch season 2 or any other serial written by this lady...
