    May i ask, how often are you changing piston/rings etc?

    • @brettsadventures1628
      @brettsadventures1628  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I've only replaced both (piston, and rings) once and that was when I got my head rebuilt. I do not run the bike extremely hard either, that helps a lot.

      Thank you for all the feedback. I ended up getting a 150F... its a boat anchor, and its somewhat lacking in power, but its probably better suited for what I would use it for. Thanks again.

      Yes the 150F is more suitable for trail riding, I got a 150R because I prefer track riding. Hope you have good luck, and happy riding.

    This is awesome to see, whoever raised you did it right. Its rare to see younger kids who not only keep great care of their bikes but know how to turn a wrench.

    Not only a good video but it’s a good sight to see someone so young doing this. Props!

    Great video! Happy to see kids work on their own bikes! It's rare these days but so important.. you're learning things that will come in handy for the rest of your life! And also, it makes you appreciate your bike that much more. Keep up the good work!

    Hey thanks for a awesome video!! And especially thanks for the focus on the decompression lever, previous owner of my bike had put the assembly in with a pinched spring!

    I know I’m a bit late but how did you get your seat like that please and thanks, nice vid also

    • @FusioNFox1019
      @FusioNFox1019 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      thats the stock seat that comes with the crf 150r

    • @austinshoemaker1553
      @austinshoemaker1553 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FusioNFox1019 no it’s not. That’s a seat cover you get on amazon. The stock crf150r seat is a black texturized seat with white Honda letters. To get this seat cover on all you do is order it, pull out the staples holding the oem cover to the seat plastic/foam. Put the new cover around the seat/foam and use a staple gun to hold the new cover in place.

    Do you know what the shim thickness on a 150r that has never been shimmed before would be? I would like to know what size shims are in my 150r without taking that cam and everything off and I know my bike has never been shimmed since it was bought becuase the intake valves are a little tight

    • @brettsadventures1628
      @brettsadventures1628  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      All shims are not the same, so you would most likely have to check them yourself.

    • @brettsadventures1628
      @brettsadventures1628  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The intake valves would be around 160

    • @hondaloyal8570
      @hondaloyal8570 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I thought they all came with the same shims out of the factory

    • @hondaloyal8570
      @hondaloyal8570 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I might pull the cam off tonight and see but I haven't done it before so it mightn't be a little challenging for me

    I might try to take the cam off with the sprocket still attached kind of like they do on the 250r, do you think that'll work

      If the chain tensioner is off, and the chain is lose enough there is a possibility.

      It probably does not have the original valves, because for stock valves that is very unusual

      There just really cold blooded and come really lean from the factory so that’s why they backfire so much I just got a 2022 150 and it still back fires
