Really appreciate this! I’ve been looking for this type of feedback for like forever, especially when you mentioned the rings can come out and the hobonichi can be used/would fit.
A year later, thank you for sharing them side by side. 😊 Saffiano leather just doesn't feel as nice as Malden leather. I just bought the Saffiano compact zip in blush to see if a move back to rings will give me the size, the layout, and also the flexibility I want and have stopped finding in my normal spiral planners. Definitely going to need an upgrade to a Malden if this works out. 😂
Hi I have a question , as I was considering buying the Saffiano compact zipped purse/planner . Is the Filofax zipped Malden worth the money from a practical point of view ie difference in dimensions or flexibility of material . I know the Malden is leather but both it seems do the same job . So I suppose my question is , is it worth 113 pounds sterling ?? Thank you for your time
Hi and thank you for watching my video. from a practical point of view and to save money the straight answer is no its not worth it. I only see it worth it because i have a problem with textures and I hate feeling the saffiano in my hands and end up not using it, whereas anything leather is a pleasure to touch :) The size is exactly the same , the leather will eventually have a little more give. Hope this answered your question.
@@SheEmpowered also, daytimer, acco brands, several office supply stores (except ironically Staples) carry planners with covers, Staples used to, but they stopped. I couldn't function without a planner cover because I carry other information besides the agenda. Logins, account numbers, etc. I switch up during the year and have several different sizes, a few came with refills like Target but they are huge like the size of a tablet computer. Need a bigger purse or workbag. The smaller ones are ok if I'm not doing much. You can buy all sorts of refills anywhere like online, cvs, Target, Staples, Walmart, office max. I also have an old filofax with rings and an old at-a-glance with REMOVABLE rings but it's 20 yrs old. I would never have bought it now. Take into consideration your age and how much weight you can carry with a phone, eyeglasses, keys and what-have-you in your bag. I used Franklin covey ring bound 20 yrs ago. Loved it. But now I'm a senior and heavy bags aren't happening. I have NEVER been a fan of storing information on my phone. Not safe, you could lose your phone, it could be stolen and it takes too long to look for information. Lawyers use planner covers, take your cue from them, they don't stand there and look for flight information or their spouse's clothing size on their phones. I did like the pocket storage you have in your cover so that's great. So with your cover Franklin covey makes a wirebound refill that fits, cvs does (called plan ahead) Staples has a pocket size for your cover. There's a new cutesy one I think it's Japanese- hibinachi. Good luck, there's so much out there.
@@loisbeyer5336will definitely look into the online option as in my country those shops don't exist unfortunately...and yes going lighter is definitely very important, in fact currently am in a pocket notebook and have a digital planner
@@SheEmpowered oh. My apologies, I didn't realize you were not in U.S. What pocket size are you using? Did you put it in your filofax cover? I find pocket size difficult to read without my eyeglasses on. Most of the time when I'm home I don't have them on. So I like the 5x8 to read with the naked eye, but then with the cover it's too heavy with other stuff in my bag. It's a constant struggle between sizes. Annoying.
They are made in China now ,and not in Engeland. That's why they are not made of leather . The quality isn't that good anymore , i heard . Sorry for the English,it isn't my native language.
Thank u soooooo much!!!! I’ve been searching for videos on this topic and hardly found anything!!!!!
You are so welcome!

I totally agree! Malden is special ....well all leathers feel lovely ....I'm a sucker for leather !! Good luck :)
I have noticed no one mentions a passport when using this filofax. Do passports fit in these planner covers?
do you mean actual travel passports? in that case yes they definitely fit in one of the slots. Thanks for watching ;)
Oh! thank you so much!!!!
I’d really love to know if iphone will fit (regular size iPhone 13/14/15 or iphone plus 12-15. Thanks
I dont own an iphone but if you send me the measurements I will gladly check for you . Thanks for watching :)

The black Malden is beautiful! Does it lay flat when it’s unzipped? TFS! ❤️🤗
Yes it does ! Did not at first ...but when you start handling it and working in it ...it softens up :)
Why didn't you just get a Dayrunner wirebound cover with refill at a fraction of the cost of you're not using the rings?
Never thought of that ...will check it out ...thank you 😊
