It does sound great! Sounds so smooth and responsive. Your throttle linkage solution is a great upgrade. I imagine it removes a good amount of slop out of the linkage.
This is my first visit to your channel and I very much enjoyed the video. The 65 Corvair is my favorite year and you have a real beauty. Thanks for sharing. p.s. I live in Korea so it's nice to see some home brew automobiles!
8:17 you are not worried at all about the vibrations from driving causing the threads to come loose and the linkage to drop out on the highway at 70mph? You Madman!
Vent valve covers and oil fill to catch can high in engine compart ment as high as possible then from there to under car. Corvairs leaked because of insufficient crankcase ventilation. Half inch hose barb's.
You did a great job on the throttle cable setup! I now know what cable to buy!! Thanks! One thing you may consider, your hard line from the oil fill to the throttle body needs to be easily taken off and put back on when you throw a belt on a hot day. Looked like you used crimp clamps on it. That looks great, but not user friendly. I am willt65 on corvair center forum, and am also in process of fuel injection. It's a leaning curve for me on the programing, currently trying to get the cold start up to be smooth. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you so much! I did consider that a few things need to be removed in order to change the belt. One of the ends of the hard line going to the oil filler doesn't have a flare on it and can be removed somewhat easily in case that happens, but I should probably put a worm clamp on it just to be sure. The cold start is the biggest hurdle I've got right now with the tuning. I did JUST get the DIS system up and running and it starts much better. But the cold start... Good luck with your FI project and let me know if you need anything! Sean
I'm glad this is working out for you! It does sound great. I wonder if a guy could use a turbo engine intake crossover in this manner to mount up a throttle body and injectors? Might be able to use a factory turbo air cleaner setup like that.
Sean, great post and continue to be impressed with your engineering skills. 🤯 Nice fab work. Quick question…was the oil just from pressure build up in the crankcase caused by lack of PCV flow through? Didn’t quite understand that. Thx.
If it were to get DBW, I would want to keep it as a bottom-pivot throttle pedal and have it look period-appropriate. I tend to like things to look like they belong there (fuel injection not withstanding!)
Hey there! Im having very similar problems with my pcv setup, now that youve run your setup for a while, do you recommend it to others? It looks like a great solution!
So far, it seems to be working well. I've thought about putting a catch can after the PCV valve to see how much oil is coming through the system, just for giggles.
Would love to!!! Years ago someone adapted a T5 to a Corvair and by all accounts it worked pretty well. I’d certainly be interested in seeing if the pieces are still out there
Hello Sean. I really enjoy your fabrication skills. It's neat watching you figure out your problems.
George B
Thanks George! There have been a LOT of little issues that have come up but hopefully they're all worked out now.

Thanks! It's a good bit more responsive than with the carbs and hopefully it'll continue to get better the more I tune (and with spark control)
Sounds awesome!
Thank you!

Thank you so much, and thanks for visiting!
You are a genius, Sean! Chevrolet/GM should hire you to fix their stupid designs of today!
Thank you! I'm having a lot of fun out here
I own a '65 and I watch your videos with great interest.
Thank you!

Yeah, it’s got red Loctite and will probably get safety wired in the future . So far no issues!

Hello Sean, is the plan to create a complete kit for other Corvair owners? I think it would sell.
No, just wanted to see if I could do it. If you're looking for Corvair EFI as a kit, I would do Ted Brown's system. www.corvair-efi.com.
I have puddles of oil too, also I guess I will be looking into fi, thanks!
I would definitely recommend Ted Brown's setup, he's done all the R&D work.
Great video Sean, from Shaun in Norwich 🇬🇧
Thanks Shaun!
Very nice work. Great engineering on the project.
Thank you!!

I think you could absolutely use a turbo crossover to make an intake manifold. Would probably be much easier than what I made.
u got her sounding good
Thank you!

Thanks Brad. Yes, there was a build up of pressure in the crankcase because the PCV wasn’t opening enough to evacuate the gas.
You should have gone plumb crazy and and did Throttle by Wire.
Thought about it!!
One thing I do Not like is : Throttle by Wire / Maybe I am old fashion but this would take away from what makes this car .
@@matthewcalifana488 I'm just going out on a limb here but you're probably already using TBW.

@@AutoAnatomy Not to sound like a smart ass but isn't that like saying. I'm for authentic except for what I say is ok?

are u coming to corvair convention this year
Yes, and planning on driving the car there
@AutoAnatomy cool I no I will be there. I love vlogging fieros n corvairs shows
Make sure to come and say hi!
Can't watch tonight. Dealing with tornado cleanup. No electricity.
Sorry friend, stay safe and we’ll be praying for healing and restoration
Nice to see your hard work is paying off!! I wish my Vair was that far along!
That's sounds really good on the WOT sections of the video! Throaty!!
@mikeconnelly7032 Thank you! Let me know if you need some help
@tonyflorio3269 Thank you, I'm a lot happier with the new muffler setup now. No drone and it sounds GREAT in the car.
Convert to 5 speed!

@@AutoAnatomy All ok! Thanks for asking.
