I watched this video, I also watched other videos where reporters claimed how Ukrainians are close to the dragon's teeth. There are map analysis, but actually couldn't see anywhere a proof of this. And don't tell me that Ukrainians would have missed a chance to take a picture and brag.
I don't understand why the media has been stating that Ukraine's counteroffensive has been slow. Is it really surprising how long it has taken to get this far when Ukraine hasn't been given all the resources it needs or asked for to make the military gains it needs to take back their territory? Have we been so drunk on peace that we do not understand how difficult it is to break through a fortified position? Anyone with any modicum of military knowledge knows that you NEED air support to make advances otherwise you're basically banging your head against a brick wall hoping to break through. The fact that Ukraine has made such massive gains with all the defense they have to go through is a testament to the strength of their military despite how few supplies they have been given.

There inability to take ground has more to do with poor command decisions then it does with what we have or have not supplied them. FYI they have used all of their strategic reserves. At best they make it through the first main defensive belt. They won't make it much further. They don't have follow up forces to exploit a breakthrough. The counter offensive is a failure.

Was watching a "military blogger" YT channel the other day, and he pointed out (with the use of satellite photos) that the hardest fighting is in the tree lines AROUND or in front of the "fortified defenses" (trenches, dragon's teeth, etc) way more than actually in the defenses...and there are way more trees than trenches. Also, all the ground is mined to the max. It really was an eye-opener for why the offensive is going way slower than we all hoped/expected.

They are just reinforced pyramid shaped blocks that are dropped in place whereas what the Germans used in WW2 were dug into the terrain about 6 feet and only the top of the pyramid was above ground.... Actually, there is still a slight chance they might pierce this year and take Tokmak, but even if they didn't manage to, it has become pretty clear that this war will last most probably one or two more years at most before Crimea's supply lines are cut and Russia will be forced to negotiate and end on ukrainian terms (which is basically -> Russia go home). Tokmak falling would just increase the probability that it would be achieved in 2024 instead of 2025.

Every military officer that has been in combat would understand in regards to any military actions that sometimes going to fast will be more of a problem then it’s worth, especially against an opponent that had a very good time to build up their defences. I mean we cannot forget the lessons that have been taught from many previous wars, especially World War II. The allies were overconfident I mean look what happened to operation market garden during World War II that operation I believe is a cautionary tale, in regards to being overconfident and underestimating an enemy and I’m sure many other countries that have military history taught in the military training would have always taught them about the previous battles, especially what caused them to succeed. What causes them to fail Ukrainian military isn’t stupid. They know that the Russians have put up very strong defences for any counteroffensive operations are, and I think so long as Ukrainians military uses equipment, they have been given wisely. They will more likely gain an advantage to me. It’s not a matter of how much equipment a military throws in turn operation how they use it that is the key to success or failure

Making them much easier to destroy. Some units are using older rifles and hitting them from a distance. Actually, there is still a slight chance they might pierce this year and take Tokmak, but even if they didn't manage to, it has become pretty clear that this war will last most probably one or two more years at most before Crimea's supply lines are cut and Russia will be forced to negotiate and end on ukrainian terms (which is basically -> Russia go home).
Tokmak falling would just increase the probability that it would be achieved in 2024 instead of 2025.

Every military officer that has been in combat would understand in regards to any military actions that sometimes going to fast will be more of a problem then it’s worth, especially against an opponent that had a very good time to build up their defences. I mean we cannot forget the lessons that have been taught from many previous wars, especially World War II. The allies were overconfident I mean look what happened to operation market garden during World War II that operation I believe is a cautionary tale, in regards to being overconfident and underestimating an enemy and I’m sure many other countries that have military history taught in the military training would have always taught them about the previous battles, especially what caused them to succeed. What causes them to fail Ukrainian military isn’t stupid. They know that the Russians have put up very strong defences for any counteroffensive operations are, and I think so long as Ukrainians military uses equipment, they have been given wisely. They will more likely gain an advantage to me. It’s not a matter of how much equipment a military throws in turn operation how they use it that is the key to success or failure

well not really, there are about 4 major defensive lines and some major cities are encircled in it. This conflict will go one for another 2 years or until the west send more equipment like anti-air systems and longer range missiles to take out more logistics. its far from over
@@joanesp100 The ukrainians found a neat trick. Their western made thermal sights can see the mines in the ground because they heat up and release heat just after the sun goes down. Making them much easier to destroy. Some units are using older rifles and hitting them from a distance. Others are using RF toy trucks to drop off hand grenades on top of the tank mines to blow them up. What we need is automated anti mine land drones.
