It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

Was offered a job as a lead for a crew that builds house foundations for use in the water in Sausalito. Really regret turning it down - this is fascinating engineering.
I wish I could have one of these built but I don't think none of the rivers near me would allow it...:(

These just look beautiful. Like to have one on aluminum barges that double as storage and be pushed by out boards.
Their work is amazing , maybe there is a solution to moving when it sinks up front i think looking into inflatables for the journey they might be a great assist .

I start my home on water at the age of 18 by my self and it took me an hole year to complete after watching your videos I had to ask that it's isn't an ordinary work that anyone can do only special people with special abilities can do it keep doing this I love your work love from Pakistan

@@ChaojianZhang A concrete element should be calculated, capable of floating and resisting buoyant force depending on use. so you have a better idea, I was in Ijburg in the Netherlands, watch that video. ..Ijburg is a floating community. I was there and I was trained to implement that construction system in America.

I am wondering is there any sort of anchor used to keep the floating community stay at a given location, because I don't understand how can a concrete foundation on itself help keep everything together. When you say watch that video are you referring to the video of this post? I don't see where it mentions this mechanism.

I am just curious how do you stable the houses, especially when connecting them with roads?
It is recommended that the house is located in a place with calm waters, 2nd ; houses are supported by two piles inserted in the seabed, diagonally. fixing the house and there is no horizontal movement, the only movement is if the water level rises or falls, the house follows. The difficult thing is the calculation and design of the floating concrete foundation that allows you to add loads, this process does not use stairofoam.

Using logs is crazy. Just crazypants. Closed styro is problematic, sure. But, it isn't going to get eaten by beavers.
After I do the exterior wood and paint and some interior boards I might show it for sale taking down payment.

The good ones sit on stainless steel tanks so they can last forever or at least so long that no one you will ever know will see its end but the cost can be pretty high

Lost my home in camp fire purchased water rights in Jantzen beach moorage a called him to get a estimate on new build or rebuild He does build beautiful homes ... but never got a response .....guess i was small potatoes i was not worth the effort wish i would of at least gotten a call back or estimate....oh well.

The Bombblows12 in the same care and ambulance they would use anywhere else. The houses are tied to a boat dock of sorts and would have an address assigned of some sorts and police will head right there with a 911 call

as much as i love those homes , floating homes are a real issue in urban areas where they block the view of the houses that used to be frontline to the water and the value of those houses that are now in second row go down significantly . just imagine you bought a house that has an unobstructed view of the water which is something that comes with a premium prize only to have someone put a floating house in front of it. the folks in holland already have that problem and its infuriating

I hear what do they do with the gray water.people there gray water goes to the same place yours go when your toilets are flushed an go in the sewer its flushed out into the lakes an then pumped bk into cleaning stations to be reused...lol smh

floating homes = house stuck in a mud whole/ sunken house = train load of money to try and get out of mud & huge fines for polluting the river if sunken = useless mud hut !
