I heard in a podcast that most of the people in nomadland weren't 'actors'. They just played themselves within the story which maybe contributed to the documentary feel.
If you like romantic movies, I highly recommend you "Leap year" with Amy Adams. The aesthetics is outstanding, the landscapes in Ireland are amazing... And the love story is way unpredictable. If you want to give a go, you won't get bored hahaha.
I looooove Blade Runner 2049! One of my all-time favorites. That chemistry between Gosling and Ana de Armas just hit me in a lot of ways. Incredible movie, and the first one is good. I can't say I love it, but it's still well crafted, well acted, and the themes and the visuals are the best thing about it tbh. Great video! 🙌🏻
Hello!! It would be really great if you could make a video of anime series recommendations! I really like the anime movies one you made so I thought this would be really great as well
I recently watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Social Network again. The Social Network was better than I remembered and Wallflower was always good
Hello monika. Big fan of the channel. Thanks for the videos! A video suggestioin; can u make a video on how you study films or what you observe while watching. I mean you went to a film school, so basically i feel that the perspective is a bit different and I won’t to know more about it. Love from India
The Devil Wears Prada came out during a time when the bombshell ideal of an actress was popular, think Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox. Anne is far from ugly but was considered “average” during that time, which is absolutely mind blowing 🤦🏻♀️😕 The beauty standards in the early 2000’s was awful.
Yes watch the OG Blade Runner and you do watch the Final Cut cause there are a ton of different cuts to Blade Runner with Final Cut being the best. As for my month of Feb, I just re watched most of MY Hero Acidemia (both the show and movies), Fantastic Mr. Fox, Ride Your Wave, and re watched Love And Monsters.
Nomadland really got me good from beginning to end and I’m so glad Chloé Zhao won for Best Director! As for Blade Runner, yes! Definitely watch the original for more context of 2049!
Idk if you will like it but i suggest you watch young royals, its in my opinion the best and most realistic teen drama ever (even though the mc is literally a prince ) its a Swedish Netflix show followes prince wilhelm and the change in his life after a fighting Scandal that forces him to move to helarska a boarding school for rich kids and nobility basically. Its only 6 ep but s2 is coming and i can't wait fir that 😭✨ just watch it its better when you don't know anything
I've watched Nomadland and I was watching too many slow movies at that time. So I didn't enjoyed it. But, now, I think is very delicate. And beautiful.
Have you seen the original suspiria? It's spooky but it's also very artistic and colorful and cool. The new one is even hard for me to watch as a fan of horror lol, it is brutal
I share that unease with horror films. I love films but have a very week stomach for gore. Loved Midsommar but I was so close to turning it off at the beginning🙈 no judgment here💜
I definitely recommend watching the first Blade Runner. Harrison Ford's performance is great and the antagonist has a lot of depth. Overall brilliant 👍
I was a little bit sceptical about Wandavision, but maybe I'll try to watch it after all... Personally, I recently watched The Serpent (the BBC show with Jenna Coleman and Tahar Rahim) and found it really good, so I recommend it to you
If you enjoyed Blade Runner 2049 then you should definitely consider watching the original. As well as the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep if you're interested. Also the original Suspiria is a lot of fun. Fantastic cinematography and I admire some of the effects. Last month I finally watched the movie Inside Llewyn Davis which came out back in 2013. I could not stop rewatching it afterwards. It's available on prime. I'd say give it a watch when you can :)
If you decide to make a video about Susperia, please watch the original from 1977 so you can talk about both. The original is really great. I haven't seen the remake yet.
Have you watched Predestination with Ethan Hawke? Really good. Sarah Snook was really good in it. Its an interesting take on time traveling to prevent a bombing.
Definitely watch the original of blade runner. It’s made in the 80s (I think so) but has a lot of substance. You’ll definitely understand 2049 better after watching the original, but of course, 2049 is STUNNING
Maggie Rejino on the deepfocuslens channel had the same essential reaction to "Malcolm & Marie". It's a bit eerie considering how different the two of you are in your critical approach. But that's a testament to how a film with heavy pretense can fall so very, very flat. (You did have more fun with "I Care a Lot" than Rejino did, that's for sure.) Studio Ghibli has also (from what I can see) disappointed swaths of people with its latest. That studio is one of the last major pillars preserving hand-drawn animation, and now that they've proven CG is not their forte, we'll see what happens. Anything that tries to replicate 3-strip Technicolor is a point of intrigue in my book, so "The Love Witch" remains on my watchlist. (The watchlist is getting sooooooo long.) Yes, check out the original "Blade Runner"!!! I credit it as one of the four films that take sci-fi cinema in a more mature direction and open up the viewer to spiritual possibilities, all in a way that Hollywood has for the most part been afraid to do. (The other three are "The Day the Earth Stood Still", "2001 A Space Odyssey" and "Arrival".)
Hii I really love the video 😍 btw does anyone have a Victorian aesthetic style movie they would recommend something like the style I'm the movie Emma 😅🙃
You’ve probably seen Joe Wright’s Pride & Prejudice, but if you haven’t I highly recommend it. If you want to go back another 100 years, to around 1770, Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a fantastic movie. It’s probably my favorite of the last 5 or 10 years. Sweeney Todd could be fun if you’re in the mood for a musical. An Ideal Husband is fun, as is The Importance of Being Ernest. Bram Stoker’s Dracula might be good if you’re in the mood for atmospheric horror. The Age of Innocence is a great Scorsese movie with a great cast of Daniel Day-Lewis, Winona Ryder & Michelle Pfeiffer. Those were a few that I thought of. Hope it helps!🙂
I think the original Blade Runner is extremely slow and lacks a lot of the humanity that makes the second one so fun for me. Still worth a watch at some point but I wouldn't say it's a priority unless you really loved the world of 2049 which doesn't seem like it was the case.
@@cinemoni I will do it definitely..I can feel this..but trust me, those watch along series are freaking unique and awesome😀😀. Thanks for helping me through the toughest time of my life monika✌✌
You should do a “my fav movie from every year since the 2000s”
that’s a fun idea!!
YES PLEASEEE !!!!!
@Landyn Samson bad
i felt the same way about malcolm and marie. it just felt very repetitive and random + it was so exhausting to watch
yess exhausting is the perfect word!!
The fact that you didn’t spend the whole video talking about Meryl Streep in the devil wears Prada is incredibly impressive.
I know right! She did that role perfectly
THE BACKGROUND is just so cute 🥺😻
It’s so pleasing to me that your earrings match the flowers in the background 😍
🌷💜😁
I heard in a podcast that most of the people in nomadland weren't 'actors'. They just played themselves within the story which maybe contributed to the documentary feel.

Midsommar was disturbing but somehow i watched it twice in the same week 😂
I definitely recommend watching the first Blade Runner. Harrison Ford's performance is great and the antagonist has a lot of depth. Overall brilliant 👍
I watched Mr. Right on Netflix recently and I loved it! 😂 It was so cute and funny.
