The reason Wong laughs at the end is because after Dr. Strange defends Earth from Dormamu he becomes the Sourcerer Supreme and hence Wong's boss. Wong asked earlier if the only reason people laughed at his jokes was because they worked for him. Now Wong works for him so laughs at his jokes.
hey I’m Ryan I have a movie request can you please do the movie Austin powers international man of mystery and if you can please wear leather gloves for the movie
In "Civil War" Tony tells Natasha that Rhodey had shattered his L4 through S1. The guy on the phone tells Dr. Strange that the Air Force colonel had "crushed his lower spine" before saying it was a "mid-thoracic burst fracture". This line mixes up injury locations because those are not the same areas. If the area of injury was "mid-thoracic", then it couldn't be Rhodey as that's literally the middle of the spinal column. It could have been Rhodey with a "crushed lower spine", but the timing doesn't match up as "Civil War" takes place in 2016, and this first act actually takes place in 2014. I'd be inclined to think it was Justin Hammer's test pilot, because the spot where the guy twisted himself a full 180° would be the right location for the mid-thoracic, but still the wrong time as "Iron Man 2" takes place in 2011. It's a fun line to speculate about, but if it was truly intended to refer to one or the other persons, they screwed it up. Or they made it ambiguous on purpose to troll the viewers that caught it.
One of my favorite things about this movie and this part of the Marvel universe is that even though they can wield magic they still need to learn martial arts, because if someone gets close enough to you and doesn’t give you time to cast a spell then you’re going to need to fight back.
Dr. Strange is almost entirely Steve Ditko's baby, and Stan was more of a polisher than anything else. Steve was a very deep thinker, completely out of the box, and he developed other characters that were as esoteric and out of the norm as anybody in the history of comics. Dr. Strange was the rage of college students in the 60's and the drug culture, but amazingly Steve Ditko was vehemently anti-drug. There is an amazing documentary called "The Search for Steve Ditko" that is well worth a watch. Steve was extremely reclusive, almost anti-social, and after developing Spider-Man & Dr. Strange for Marvel, had a falling out with Stan Lee, left to DC where he created "Hawk & Dove" and "The Creeper," then off to independent comics. Extremely brilliant, but way outside the norm for society. It was fun to watch your first exposure to this fascinating world.
These videos are serving as my re-watch. I love watching Sam's reactions. Great job with editing to cut down the run time without sacrificing important plot points as well as the fun moments. Job well done, Kristian. Keep it up.
The moment Ancient One triggers his third eye the entire scene of him going through the dimensions & spaces kind of relates the moment Ant Man went to the sub atomic space. These scenes were telling how the advent of multiverse & dimensions would play important role in future movies.
The back injury Strange is offered before his accident isn't Rhodey, most of the film happens before Civil War. It's most likely the pilot of the failed Justin Hammer suit in Iron Man 2.
Yeah, here they say "some kind of experimental armor" and in Iron Man 2, Hammer quickly says "I'd like to state that he survived" after the suits torso did a 180 and u hear the pilot shout in pain 😭
sams definitely an empath she really gets absorbed in peoples characters and stories... gonna be a ride when she starts lotr too 😊 u gotta go through a list of movies with her and find out what she hasn't seen. she's a gold mine for reaction 😂
The Air Force pilot with the twisted spine is not James Rhodes because the doctor said the pilot was 35 years old. Obviously Rhodes is much older. This movie make it seem like Stephen strange learn the mystic arts quickly when in fact from the very start of the film to the end credit scene take place over the course of 2 to 3 years.
When they first meet, Wong doesn't laugh at Strange's jokes, and implies that only people that work for him find him funny. At the end Wong laughs, because he realizes that he now works for Strange (the new Sorcerer Supreme).
Here is my favorite story I have to tell about this movie. This was the first movie that my friend best Trey and I watched together and every year on our friendship anniversary which is November 4th. We watch this movie together virtually, which is one of my favorite memories of all time. Also what a fun movie
Commenting before the reaction starts, but this is my favorite standalone film in the MCU, so I’m hoping Sam really enjoys it too despite the initial apprehension. And shout out to Michael Giacchino’s score for this film, one of the best in the MCU.
If Tony went to medical school he’d be Dr Strange😂 I think Sam will like this one. Plus I love that as a first timer she just allows herself to get into the film instead being overly critical like some do
I love how this movie establishes a new visual language for magic in the MCU. He's not my favorite character but the movie is pretty good to watch. Sam is so much fun watching these with you.
I think Sam's gonna like Dr Strange a lot because it's so different from the other Marvel characters. Well acted and good comedy moments, too. It's a really good MCU movie.
I think you need to give Sam a spread sheet of her rankings at the end of the video so she can just insert the latest movie on to it, make it a whole lot easier for everyone.
37:37 im sure you already know kristian but sam wouldnt , when the mop fell that was not in the script it happened on accident and her scream was a genuine reaction of being startled , such a great moment that was perfect for the film !
Okay, Kristian...Loving this journey. Doctor Strange has a special place in my heart. This was a favorite of your friend and a friend of Nerd Nation Jon Schnepp. I was one of the lucky few who was able to attend the AMC Movie Talk 100 Million View Rooftop Party in Hollywood back in Dec 2014. Got to meet you, Schnepp, Mark Ellis, Jon Campea, and the rest of AMC crew. One of the most fun nights ever. So every time I see Civil War or Doctor Strange I remember the glee in Schnepp's eyes during the Spoiler Reviews. #RIPSchnepp
Not sure which order the streaming shows came out or if you'll have time and energy to do them, but I think showing her "WHAT IF", straight after the movies would be kind of like Dr. Strange, different - but in a fun and unexpected way.
Small note, I really really wish yall wouldn’t edit out her deliberating where it goes in the ranking at the end. It’s lovely watching her try and decide where everything ranks. Love these videos as always!
I’m actually glad that there’s still people that haven’t experienced the MCU. Talk about YEARS of an emotional roller coaster and it’s only going to get Six Flags Great ADVENTURE crazy in a few more movies
I thought the theories were that the USAF Col with the broken back was the Hammer flunkie from Iron Man 2 rather than Rhodey due to the time Strange spends in recovery then at Kamar-Taj. I doubt they would refer to the War-Machine as experimental armor at this point.
To me, Strange becomes extremely powerful during his time battle with Dormamu. That could have taken decades. Could have been thousands and thousands of loops.
I can already tell people are going to say that the airforce pilot at the start is Rhody, but it's not. The person on the phone says he was 35, Rhody was 48 in Civil War.
There's a lot of similarities to Tony Stark and Doctor Strange. Both were brilliant but self-centered and arrogant. Then they have a life changing accident and have to find a new purpose. There was a big controversy when this came out. Because of the casting of Tilda Swindon as the Ancient One. Because, in the comics, the Ancient One was an old Asian man. I am really enjoying these Marvel reactions and appreciate how invested Sam has become. Kris, I don’t know what you ate before filming this reaction but you were funny as all h*ll and had me cracking up. 😆
@TheKristianHarloff I think they mentioned that Strange got very powerful in a short amount of time because his time battle with Dormommu was A LOT longer than it seems. Like hundreds of thousands of repays with him getting better and better each time until Dormammu got sick of it.
At this point it seemed like everything Marvel was throwing against the wall was so good. And anytime they introduced a new hero/team, it was different. Guardians was aliens and outerspace, Ant-man was a comedic heist movie, Strange was magic and incredible visuals. Just great stuff. Really enjoying the reactions. Love seeing how Sam is reacting to everything!
Whenever I hear the song in the operation scene near the beginning of the movie it reminds me of Elaine’s dance in ‘The Little Kicks’ episode of Seinfeld.

Sam is being like Sgt. Schultz. "I know nothing. Nothing!" So much the more fun. Also fun watching with Big Balls the Chipmunk. Aptly named? It's Saturday and you made it out with Doctor Strange. Great job.
11:22 I don't think that was Rhodey, that was the guy wearing the Hammertech attempt to make the iron man suit. Remember the suit did a 180 with the guy inside screaming
Sam will like it, but it will be lower on her list since he's not connected to anyone else in the MCU at the point of time of her watching it. I expect somewhere between 8 and 10 but that can change after Infinity War
Oh so yall are catholic school alums. My people. lol Nerd fact: The former caretaker of the NY Sanctum is Daniel Drumm. His brother Jericho Drumm is also a doctor, becomes an ally of Strange, and eventually takes on the mantel of Sorcerer Supreme for a while in the comics. Hope they incorporate Jericho in the MCU. As an old comic book guy, this is another one I was really worried about. Doctor Strange is one of my top 3 favourite Marvel characters, and translating to the screen could be rough. They pulled off magic with this one. No pun intended. Easily in my top 5 MCU flicks.

Also when Avengers happened. They were 5 years too early.
Dr. Strange was surprisingly good. The ending is clever and is definitely something Strange would do.
Sam may not know it yet, but she is going to love Doctor Strange by the end of this movie.
Enjoy finding out how she feels!!
With everything going on right now, I think we all need a little Sam in our lives to put a smile on our faces😊
37:30 Best part is that mop falling over scene was completely by accident and she got scared they decided to keep it in.
