*5 YEARS AGO* I made a flat cat that didn't fit me. 5 years later I make bespoke men's historical suits 1890 to 1940 [dramatically helped by being locked in the house for 2 years in the pandemic LOL]
I wish I could buy hats like that. We have Hanna hats here but it is more of a full/busy pattern. In the caps shown, I like how the pattern lines up as well as being more simple in stripes.
Thank you SO much. I've been trying for ages to find out what the peak was stiffened with before plastic. And I didn't know about the hessian lining either. Brilliant, thanks!
I bought a Stetson flat cap today. £80. I’m pretty sure it has plastic at the front. I feel robbed now. I want leather as you said, it’s traditional and the best. I think hats might actually be something I end up collecting. As I was looking in to them, the variety of flat caps are unreal. Colours, styles, fabrics, etc. I found a flat cap that had been made from an old espresso coffee sack. Some are a middle ground between a baseball cap and more traditional flat caps. Really facinating pieces.
The older I get, the more I appreciate simple things such as a good hat.

Flat caps were interlined with burlap? Fascinating!
Do you have a website? And where is your store?
Can one still visit your place?
And most men can wear a cap well.
Most me. But not me. I look awful in a flat cap unfortunately. I wish I could wear one.
What is going on with that flashing light, it is so distracting.
