    I wouldn't use the upright rows. I used to do them when I was younger and was experiencing shoulder problems from them. There was a book on the market that said they can cause shoulder impingement.

    • @justingonzales2711
      @justingonzales2711 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Tony King upright rows as well as any exercise can cause serious pain of not doing right. For upright rows I keep it lighter than most exercises making sure I get a good squeeze up top and not worrying about going heavy with the weights.

    Thanks for the video Justin, I've recently had surgery for a torn labrum and ac joint. I have now started to lift weights again ( only light to start off), I was interested in your method to wotk the front delts, you seem to start from below horizontal and stop when your upper arm is basically at horizontal. Many others advise to fully extend. Do you have any advice for me getting back into the weights now after the surgery?

    Good advice. I have been lifting for 57 years now. Lifters tear their shoulders up by trying to go to heavy to fast and the tendons become the weak link. Do your heavy lifting with linear (compound movements) and laterals much lighter with higher reps. Excellent form and focus is imperative. If your lucky shoulder injury will heal but it takes a long time. If your not so lucky, count on being plagued with shoulder pain for the rest of your life. Keep in mind, bad shoulders will have a negative effect on all your upper body workouts.
