I doubt this counts but in db legends there's an entire plot point of frost posing as frieza and proclaiming the real friezas is a false doppelganger. The frieza in question was from the z era and still had his whole army and frost just usurped him without anyone knowing. Only problem was frost didn't account for plot and the conciseness of his actions to exist.
Even while both were buff Frieza was much more powerful than Frost even in the same form and a better fighter. Frost was good tho, I will give him that.
I like this better than so many other moments because this hits every beat: It shows how far Frieza has come, actually acknowledging he has gotten stronger rather than letting him be upstaged by some random giblet just waddled their ass into the story, It's in-character, the Frieza we know WOULD pull some shit like this, And, though somewhat contradictory with my first point, it utilizes something other than power jargon and nonsense to explain wtf just happened; it had Frieza thinking intelligently and that paying off. Even if he couldn't beat this mf without a helluva fight, we have seen cases in the past where even being on a similar power level, though even if it doesn't allow you to win out through raw power, does generally make you able to diversify your tactics, you can use something that's not just overpowering your opponent or being faster than them, something that just should have been used more in this series, to make the fights more interesting, something new, a focus on battles of wits and experience rather than just taking the absolute worst aspects of DBZ's power scale and storytelling that existed and turning them to an 11 AND making them the focus.
It's easily the most narcissistic accent in the world, just makes everything else obsolete. Speaking as a British person, our accent is absolutely the one a space emperor would choose.
Frieza speaks formally in Japanese as a facade by ending his sentences a certain way. It also acts as a contrast to Goku’s rough way of speaking. Frieza’s formalities are lost whenever he gets mad or arrogant to show how fake he really is. Since there isn’t really a rather subtle “formal” way of ending sentences in English they gave him a British accent which I mean, in a way can be pretty formal.
if frieza returns in daima, I think Frost's VA should be the new Frieza Voice because they were brothers and I think it could be inhering some sort of will from Chris, may he rest in peace.🕊️
