    Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I went out on vacation and upon my return my bermuda grass yard was 50% infected with weeds of all kinds, so this video is great, because it shows me a game plan on how to combat and hopefully get rid of all this weed I got on my grass. I've pulled most of it off today but will still buy and use the products recommended on the remaining spots.

    Sir, it’s spring in north Texas, can I mix both herbicides together in the sprayer rather than spraying separately? Also, when would it be ideal to lay fertilizer? Same day? Wait a few? Thanks for the videos!

    • @jesusjones3014
      @jesusjones3014 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can mix the 2 mentioned but I recommend splitting then up bc Image you have to water in after spraying it. You can just use the hose in versions of each as well bc that sorta waters in in some. Depending on where you live your fertilizer schedule will be different. For me I'm in south Texas so I do liquid preemergent early February, spray image with crab grass preventer march 1st and do my 1st light coat of fertilizer. April 1st I spray 2 4 d. May 1st another light coat of fertilizer and spot spray any weeds that made it thru. If your north your schedule will start probably march maybe with preemergent etc.....

    I use Image on mine and I’ve had mixed results this year. My zoysia and Bermuda do ok with it but I’ve got some sticker weeds and various johnson grass areas I can’t seem to get cleaned up.
    Awesome channel, thanks for all you do!

    Thank you, good sir. Thank you for a direct, clear suggestion. So many long winded videos from others on YT when I just need a good suggestion that's readily available. To be clear, should I get both and then use one, wait two weeks and use the other to kill the other forms?

    • @jesusjones3014
      @jesusjones3014 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes I recommend splitting then up bc Image needs to be watered in after spraying and the 2 4 d bioadvanced needs to sit on the weeds for a few days (I prefer letting it sit a week b4 rain or b4 I mow) read the labels. You can spray them together in a backpack sprayer and within a day or 2 max you'll water your yard to get the image down to the roots and the 2 4 d had a day or 2 max to sit on the weeds. Read the labels image says how long after your spray to water it in.

    This is all good information. Thankfully, many broadleaf and some grassy weeds like poa annua only thrive in the cool season and will not be an issue when the Bermuda is really greening up and growing in the summer heat. It’s always better to get it all under control, though.
    I’m constantly doing battle with kyllinga and sedge during the summer. Image helps.

    Hey Lawn Dad! My newly sodded Bermuda /weed lawn is only about 4 months old here in North Texas. I am thinking it does not even have an established root system yet. Should I just keep it mowed using a bagged mower or is there anything else I can do without hurting my new sod?

    • @jesusjones3014
      @jesusjones3014 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bag mow best thing, your comment is old but it's nearly too hot to spray weeds now, but your grass can handle bioadvanced 2 4 d or yellow weed stop for lawns both at low rate. you do it at 6am sunrise or 8pm right b4 sunset.

    I just got Celsius and centipede. My Bermuda is now over run by some type of carpet grass look alike. Will Celsius and certainly work on this? Should I keep it at 1.5inch tall as my yard is on a hill, I can’t drop down any lower without scalping.

    I have many weeds in my front lawn this year compared to prior years on an organic lawn. Yard looks super ugly. Can I wait for my bermuda/st augustine when they come out of dormancy (I currently have a mix going on) to choke them out eventually? My st augustine chokes out weeds in the backyard every year.

    • @TheLawnDad
      @TheLawnDad  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not necessarily completely naturally. However, mowing low and consistently will help weeds from flowering and dropping seeds so, if you want to stay 100% natural, mowing low and consistent will help. Also check out a weeding tool and that will allow you to pull the big ones if you can’t seem to get rid of them

    • @arielrodriguez6980
      @arielrodriguez6980 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheLawnDad Thanks! I think I will mow low to also keep the bermuda growing and eliminate some of the st augustine. Bemuda is easier because it requires less watering and not as disease prone. It is a shame my St. A thinned and died from diseases i suppose but I now need turf.

    How low can bermuda be mowed? My last mow was 1 and 3/8 cut. Is this too low?

    • @jesusjones3014
      @jesusjones3014 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Putting greens are Bermuda and cut super low. As long as you are watering like a golf course you can cut it low with a reel mower if you want but the lower you cut it, the more often you need to mow it bc Bermuda is brow under that green and if you cut it low and then don't cut it for a week then cut it low again or will be brown and possibly burn and be stressed out. Some people cut their Bermuda 2 or even 3 x a week. Me I cut one a week and on March I cut low b4 it's hot. April I raise my mower up 1 notch, may up 1 more notch. June July August I might raise it one more notch depending on rain and stress from heat, just depends.

    What you recommend for dallis grass in Bermuda

    • @jesusjones3014
      @jesusjones3014 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only 2 things that do dallis grass are glyphosate and msma but msma is not allowed for residential only golf courses and sod farms and they have strict rules like can only spray 1 x per year etc. If your just doing spot spraying dallis then it's ok as long as your not near any water and just be responsible read the label and careful. Not msm turf, get msma.

    When to put down a pre merger

    • @TheLawnDad
      @TheLawnDad  ปีที่แล้ว

      When soil temps are between 55-60*F for best protection for the spring and 70*ish for fall protection.
      Look at pre-emergent like Stonewall (big box store brand) or something with Prodiamine as the active ingredient.
      Great question! I’ll definitely be making a video on it.

    Man these reviews on both products on all websites are either part of a promotion or very bad reviews. Even many of the promotion reviews are bad reviews

    • @jesusjones3014
      @jesusjones3014 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's more like user error with the bad reviews. Both products work well if done EXACTLY like the label tells you. Only the labels are tough to understand if you barely graduated high school. It's also based on ounces per 1,000 Sq feet so people have no clue really what 1,000 Sq feet is so they likely don't spray right amounts, have their sprinklers running the next day or mow right b4 or after spraying etc... Again the labels are 2 be followed exactly! Lastly most crappy lawns will need 2 applications spread about 4 weeks apart bc even when you kill what's showing now, there is more just germinating just below and sprouting up a few weeks after spraying the 1st application. You can skip these products and buy the real deal stuff that these brands pre mix and package for you. I'd recommend watching lots of videos on 2,4 d - msm turf - prodiamine - dithopyr - quinclorac
