Ozone. These have mighty strong UV lights inside, 2x5W quartz mecury vapor pencil tubes. The banana test isn't immediately, develops after about an hour. I converted mine to generate ozone for emergency water purification.
Not only do these work, they have ozone emitting UV lights. Not recommended for phones but could be used as a source of hard UV light and a little ozone for good measure. You could even build a device for sterilizing water with it if you wanted to.😮

After using the cellphone product, it comes with a smell.
Don't buy this product. Mine worked like 3 times abd then ceased working. Looks like it's a piece of crap anyway.
