Congratulations on your new prime minister! I wish him and the UK well. The blanket is gorgeous! Like the lamp, too.
Thanks! I think he will do ok, fingers crossed. The only way is up!
Ohhh love that blanket!! That's the colour of my new kitchen 😅
@@charlottebayford I was pleased with that! From the shop in Heath Road by the Coop
That’s a great furniture charity shop , I’ve not seen one that big
We have several nice ones locally. We are lucky!
Hi Jane ❤ thanks for sharing your haul! Have you thought about frozen spinach? We use it in lots of currys and I have used fresh but frozen works out so much cheaper and tastes great in creamy or spicy recipes 😋
Yes, I do buy it sometimes
Hello, Jane! Shelled salted sunflower seeds are very common here in the US and are both a lovely calcium-rich snack and a great salad topping. The sodium can be reduced by pouring the seeds into a colander and shaking it over the sink. Just dry; not a rinse. The blue two-piece satiny dress was a popular style for Spring Prom a few years back. Have an excellent day!
Thanks! That’s a good idea about shaking off some of the salt
Hi Jane, great video. I love to see what groceries other people buy and particularly your meal plan for the week.
They sound like very long days working so great planning food for them.
Best of luck for your garage sale.
Our Op Shops here in Australia- same as your charity shops- have gone crazy
Two of the big charities in Australia- The Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul-,are now running their Op Shops like businesses. Paid manager and 2IC and volunteers so no more rummaging through packed racks and tubs. It’s all edited with much fewer select clothes etc. I hate it. I loved to have a good scrounge and bag a bargain.
At Vinnies (St Vincent de Paul) the other day they were selling a well used ladies denim jean jacket for $25!!! That’s the same price as a brand new one in KMART!
Just crazy.
Anyway all the best and I really love your channel. You are one of my favourite TH-camrs. Lorraine 💁
Thanks, Lorraine. Yes, they are being run as businesses and are losing much of their charm. It’s a shame!
What a beautiful green blanket...great find!
It really is! Very pleased with that one.
I enjoy your videos so much, Jane ❤
Groceries prices are shocking. I was happy to see prices come down on some of the staples this week. We have to be careful every time we shop.
Yes, it’s tough out there. We are all keeping our belts tight, still
make sure your drinking water and not to much coffee lol ! i can only drink lattes anything stronger gives a upset tummy i too have IBS x
It’s grim, isn’t it? I wish I could just eat or drink anything, like I used to!
Growing up my parents had greengrocers shop come June only new ones till September. Still eat this way just seems strange to me we did have proper summers so didn't really want mash !!!!! X😊
It is good winter comfort food. But I eat it all year
In Ireland, at least once a week when I check the weather it's; warning for blight.
At the moment we are still on old potatoes, so they are not lasting as long and even wen just peeled not good. Knowing how often the warning came up last year, not holding out much hope for this years potatoes.
It’s a shame, as they are such a good foundation for meals
Hi, Jane! I completely understand where you come from with the salted sunflower seeds. 😅I'm from Romania and when I was growing up eating those while watching the telly was a must.
I picked up the habit travelling in my twenties and never shook it!
I've never tried salted su flower seeds but they sound scrumptious!!!! Will look out for them in lidl ❤
Don’t do what my mum did and try to eat the shells too 🤣
Also..I love your green shirt! You looks so cute :)
Thanks! 🤩
Try ‘Splesh’ for the loo roll. Still in plastic but is UK made with free delivery 😊
I have not heard of that but will investigate, thanks!
Jane I bought a coffee today to
I hope you enjoyed it 😋
Hi Jane, I'm working on polling day too. It's a flippin long day and we don't have a microwave at the venue so can't have anything hot 😮 It will be cheese rolls and cups of tea! I too have IBS which seems to be set off by too much onion, tomatoes, lentils or beans. It's a thorough nuisance so I sympathise with you. I hope you feel better and that the garage sale went well 🤞Angie
Thanks! It was fun but not lucrative. Hope you get on ok on Thursday. Pot noodles then!
Thanks, Jane, good luck to you too on Thursday. I think we are in for a busy day!
In our Lidl they do 24 toilet rolls for £4.99 🎉
I will get those if I see them.
Its surprising how our diets affect us as we grow older, the tummy gripes are real! My hubby did a car boot weekend not long ago, we cleared our attic and garage and along with a few outgrown toys of the grandkids he made nearly £600 over the 2 days, well chuffed, we’re going to do 1 more in August when the children are off school and the market which is opposite a seaside caravan area will be buzzing, fingers crossed we get rid of the toys and I can reclaim my summer house from the grandkids!
Wow! That’s amazing! You must have had had some good bits to sell
@@ShoestringJane We deliberately chose the site because it has a big market and a car boot sale, holiday makers in “ the mood” to spend, and we made sure we went at the end of the month for a pay day weekend, it certainly made me realise that the stuff we normally pass on to friends or donate will be taking a trip in the back of the car to said boot sale, the best bit is we didn’t go spending it on more bits and pieces of stuff 😂
Hope the garage sale goes well ☀
Thanks! Just finished. It was a bit quiet, but quite fun
❤
I think that the lamp base is royal anisley fine bone china ??
It’s not marked as such but I will investigate, thanks
Do you ever utilise the 10% off at Lidl? As long as you spend £250 in a month , you get 10% off a shop up to the value of £200, so yesterday I got £20 off a £200 shop, it’s so amazing! X
Yes, I have done, but I don't always spend enough in there. I will try to stick to shopping there this month.
@@ShoestringJane the freebies are great too once you hit a certain spend amount x
I used to buy the Lidl bags of white potatoes but they always had "bad" bits and dark bruising on the inside on nearly every spud...stopped buying for that reason.
I find them hit or miss, but more missed lately
Great video as always, thank you!
May I ask, do you have to ask before filming in shops? Or are you just discreet xx
I'm just discreet. Plus I don't film staff talking to me. I guess some shops might object, but I rarely do it and no one has so far!
