just bought a new shift lever and the lever wont go tight always had to much play. whenever i get it in a good position the screw pushes the shifter in and comes loose again.
It took me 30 minuntes to get mine off. Not nearly as easy as in the video. Pulling it wouldn't work (I had the bolt out, obviously) so I had to get a pry bar and angle it so I could get the bar end into the crevice behind the shifter...not easy. Anyway, that got it off.
+shane henderson Hey Shane,Easy fix. The shaft that comes out of the transmission has splines on it. The inside of your shift lever does too. Remove the bolt, and pull off your shift lever. From there, you can rotate it into any position you like. Some like to run it up a couple of splines, as they have boots with a tall toe box. Others may like to move it down a couple, as it just feels better to them. That's one thing that can really make a difference in how comfortable you are on the machine, making your controls fit your body. Takes just a short bit of time, and costs no money. Thanks for watching our videos and the comment. You're a subscriber, right?
You guys assume that we are all bike mechanics. it takes the average guy a half hour plus but your videos are 6+ minutes...also should I be wearing flip flops would this cut down on time????lmao
Flip flops is our primary footwear here in San Diego, plus inside the garage, it's pretty nice. Now as far as duration of the videos go, this is a simple task. Perhaps the first time you do it, it might seem hard, but do it a couple of times, and it'll be second nature. Not really a lot of places to make mistakes.
the rocky mountain brake pedal video explains this part...these transworld videos suck.....this guy rushes through everything assuming we know certain things
