Seeing them, CLK GTRs, and F1’s run at Sebring was a motorsports career highlight, probably just behind F1 at Spa. Stunning how few people attended. They missed a good one.
Something about this feels wrong. The GT1 was a rocketship, but after almost 30 years of tyre and suspension technology improvement, on a track like this I reckon the new cars would've ripped the ever loving hell out of it in those twisty bits.
All the cars are running on the track at the same time. It would be more fair to have each car run their own separate hot laps and compare all the times. So yea, felt something was amiss as well
Dont think its too off. Had a quick look at lap times around suzuka and road atlanta and the gt1 is quicker round there than a gte has ever been. That only leaves the rennsport as a competitor which i dont know much about but it does way over 25% more than the gt1 at the same power..
Only problem with the GT1 98’ is that it shares literally nothing with a 911 other than the lights and the engine block. The 1996 GT1 and 1997 GT1 Evo are at least half 911. They used 993 tubs that were cut at the rear seats and the roof modified to accommodate the Speedster windshield. So essentially the whole front half of the car is based off a 911. The rear half is based off the 962. Engine architecture was also used in a 911 road car, the 959
@Racers-Setup-Guide but, does it count as a 911 or not? I mean Porsche itself call this a 911 i think the same brand knows what is this Car, i just Say if Porsche call it 911 is a 911
This is likely unrealistic, while the 911 GT1 Evo is fast, it's not that much faster if at all compared to a 911 RSR. For example, take Le Mans, a power track in every sense of the word. In 1997, the 911 GT1 Evo clocked a time of 3:43.363, while in 2021, the 911 RSR was able to do a 3:46.882 which would've been enough for 10th overall on the 1997 grid. That's 3 seconds on a track as long and power heavy as Le Mans. On a more normal track, the 911 RSR could very well beat the 911 GT1 Evo.
It Would be much more relevant with Porsche 911 GT3 RSR from 2009 FIA GT GT2 class. And even more interesting with one and only 2005 911 Turbo GT1 class biuld by A:Level Engineering
What's you favourite Porsche 911?
panamera turbo
Moby Dick
Moby Dick
Rexy. Without a doubt
The Volkswagen Beetle
That GT1 is still a beast even after so many years
Seeing them, CLK GTRs, and F1’s run at Sebring was a motorsports career highlight, probably just behind F1 at Spa. Stunning how few people attended. They missed a good one.
And it's not even the 911 gt1-98
If you did not showed the 911 GT1-98, certainly it must be too fast for this race
It has almost 850bhp.
Something about this feels wrong.

I think that's largely negated by them weighing 200-300kg more than the GT1.

Even the modern era have more downforce, the gt1 weight and horsepower makes it obvious why it won
GT1 supposed to be here.
The 911 GT1 is my favorite car of all time. That car would be perfect to make a modern version of.
i saw GT1 EVO, power/weight and i knew it will win
I was thinking “that macan made a shit start……… oh yeah” haha
911 GT1-98 is probably my favorite. Too bad this menacing beauty wasn't in the race
It is too fast for this challenge
Great race of Porsches
The GT2RS was with the Manthey Racing package, it's faster through corners than the normal variant!
Could you make how could be a F1 race on Talladega or an Oval?
Finally, legitimate test, mahalo
VIR, what a track.
Imagine if the was the GT1-98. It would destroy them
why do they make gt2 and gt3 for every gen 911, but never gt1 :(
Because the GT1 racing group does no longer exist
hell yea one of my favourite the gt1
GT1 era might have died but not its legacy
911 GT1 still is the GOATED Race car.
Pls do 911 GT1 vs 911 GT1 Evo vs GT1-98
You didn't put the Porsche 911 GT1 1998....I am sad, it would have beaten easily every single other Porsche 911
Please do another video like this with audi
How about the same concept but with corvettes?
Which would be faster? The GT3 Cup or the GT2 RS Clubsport?
Great vídeo, i think the fastest ever Porsche 911 Is the 911 GT1 98' the evolution of this GT1 from 1997 almost 2 seconds faster
Only problem with the GT1 98’ is that it shares literally nothing with a 911 other than the lights and the engine block. The 1996 GT1 and 1997 GT1 Evo are at least half 911. You forgot about Citroen c4 rally
Is there ever gonna be a Porsche 911 GT1 RS?
Can u do w11 lap time and compare it with the 919 evo do not race it only the w11
At the Nurburgring
This is only because VIR is such a power circuit. It’s not a fair test at all
What kind of track is this?
Lime Rock Park, Lakeville, Connecticut, USA.
@@rafaelbarrosbarbosa2901nope. This is VIR, or Virginia International Raceway in Alton VA.
@@dheffring Thanks!!!!
No overtakes?
Gt3 cup overtook in the beginning i think
911 GT1-98 ?
Bro that is too fast
What is the name of this race circuit?
Virginia International Speedway
What circuit is this?
Virginia International Raceway, or VIR
What about the RUF Ct3R does that cars still Qualifies as a 911 ?
No, that’s a RUF, not a Porsche.
I’d rather go with e the unrestricted 911. (I wish there was a rally version of it)
Nah i think the GTE might be the fastest. The GT1 is slower compare to Group C car. And GTE 1second faster than Group C car In Spa
All of them except the GT1 and GT2RS are N/A
the fastest porsche 911 is the porsche 911
Spoiler alert: the Porsche wins

Is around 200 kg lighter than is modern era
And had more horsepower
You can’t compare times, Le Mans had a different layout back then
Le Mans circuit layout was different in 1997 to 2021 first section before the mulsanne is different
It Would be much more relevant with Porsche 911 GT3 RSR from 2009 FIA GT GT2 class.

Christmas came early!
We know
As GT3 RS lover, I'm quite disappointed
Why it couldn't even compete with GT2 RS?
You are surprised a GT3 RS couldn’t compete with a “GT3RS” with 2 turbos?
With the stats, the gt2 rs seem to have more horsepower
Apperantly, the "911" that technically isn't a 911.
What track Is that?
911 GT1-98 ?
